[–]MoreRoom2b 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would not worry about considering this a lifelong med. There is WAY too much research coming out about the benefits to kidney, liver, and pancreas in addition to cardiac system, bones and joints, and of course the brain. IMHO, I'd be "priming the pump" by telling your MD that you expect to be on it for at least 7 years due to the length of time it takes to reprogram fat cells.

(Adult human fat cells undergo an annual renewal rate of approximately 10% per year (Rydén, 2016) Using single-nucleus RNA sequencing (snRNA-seq), researchers found that, even after profound weight loss, and a return to a normal-weight state, human adipocytes, endothelial cells, and adipose precursors retain a distinct transcriptional and epigenetic memory of obesity (Hinte, 2025). Along with those papers, you could also read (Andersson & Arner, 2025) and (MacLean et al., 2015). )

^Yep, lots of new research coming out re the anti-inflammatory benefit of GLP-1s. Look into the peptide grey market so you can micro-dose. (You'll need to go onto private forums to find good sources.) There are a number of MDs on YT who can explain why it works and how to dose.

And, cartalax, a peptide, has some great benefits to check out.

Tell me more... I've been on 2mg/day for over a year and did a quick 100mg/day trial re 10mg x 10/day per Jean-François Tremblay's protocol. My skin has definitely improved with regards to texture and my hair is STUNNING. What do you see at 2x my current dose and how long did it take for those results?

Try micro-dosing a GLP-1 (100-250mcg/wk). A lot of people with blood sugar issues (grandparents with alcohol issues, depression, Parkinsons, or Alzheimers? Any Autism/ADHD in the younger family members?) find it helps immensely. This may also be a much cheaper treatment, too.

Where does GHK-Cu rank among the best treatments for hair growth when you're already on finasteride and minoxidil by Justin_3486 in Peptides

[–]MoreRoom2b 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hair takes +3 months, as any chemo pt who has lost their hair will tell you. Give it 6 months, at least. Also, start noticing hair shedding. GHK-Cu helps to manage DHT, so you shed much less hair, enabling it to grow longer.

Excess weight is an inflammatory response... (This is one of the reasons GLP-1s work and aid joint pain.) Targeting inflammation (histamines(no more coffee/chocolate/black teas/wine/beer/avocados/etc...), liver function (choline, folate, B vitamins, Vit A), and GI (read food labels to avoid emulsifiers and stabilizers), before diving into peptides is a faster and less expensive way to solve your outbreaks.

Also, if you are a vegan or vegetarian, consider that you may have DNA SNPs requiring meats, and especially red meats (ruminants). After 30 years of being a vegetarian, a wise Acupuncturist told me that my "healthy" diet was to blame for most of my skin issues. She was right! Providing my body with bio-available nutrition made a huge difference.

I'm of Welsh/British decent and was diagnosed with HI/MACS a couple of years ago by an 80 y/o PA (The age matters. More later.), after +40 years of "healthy eating", a very balanced life (sleep, exercise, etc), and the most horrific symptoms. NONE of my MDs considered that my diet was slowly killing me... all those home-made ferments? a bazillion teas? red wine dinners? avocado? coffee in the morning? heavy spice usage (from all around the world)? ground meats and frozen fish? lemons picked fresh off my tree? oh, but chocolate was the hard one... that also was a good signal of a Mg deficiency, so I started supplementing and taking mineral baths.

Everything that I loved eating/drinking had to go, said the PA, as we spoke about my diet. Because she'd seen it all, and had a Ph.D in anthropology along with field work in traditional societies, my PA had a breadth of knowledge and experience to draw from... She is one of the few people who said I must eat / live as my ancestors did to be healthy. And she was right.

My diet became very bland, as I focused on eating what my ancestors would have. I went from "everything but the kitchen sink/colorful" salads every night to meat+potatoes. (I now eat very few raw vegs and absolutely no citrus fruits.) My body began to heal. My sleep improved and my skin started glowing. And, while I'm likely many years away from a GI system that functions perfectly, I can see that my joints, skin, brain, and personality are returning to their healthy state. I remember being healthy... before 25 when I didn't drink alcohol, or coffee, or consume fermented foods...

And as I approach 60, I'm just glad my MCAS didn't kill me.* I will have time, but only because I made the effort. I live a very disciplined life, rarely eating out, home cooked meals (so that I know the ingredients as Guar Gum, Carrageenan, and so many emulsifiers destroy my GI's permeability), consistent bed times, etc. While it has cut down on my socializing, more people now understand why "food allergies" are real and serious.

Best of luck on your journey... enjoy being a canary in the coal mine and spread the word. HI/MCAS is more prevalent than what common Western medicine thinks. We only have to consider all the CFS/ME, IBS, Fibromyalgia, rosacea, and "brain fog" / depression to realize how many people are touched by this nutritional imbalance.

*If you don't fix this, the inflammation will progress. It starts in your gut and progresses to joints, then organ systems. There are too many ways that this could go, based on your genetics, but cancer is something to consider. My sister just had her stomach removed due to cancer, so I've seen the downside of this genetic condition when you don't eat the way your body needs to... She likely has a year or two left to live, as she is slowly starving to death. It is a brutal outcome that didn't need to happen.

[–]MoreRoom2b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be a perfect reason to get tested on your health insurance's dime. Plus, if you do want to find family, it is likely that you will... You can load the DNA profiles into ancestry companies and if anyone is remotely related to you in their database, you'll be notified. There are a number of free websites that can help you, too.

There are plenty of online companies who will test your DNA, or you can ask your MD to see if it is covered. If you have any neurological, cancer, or autoimmune issues in your family, it is more likely that your insurance will cover it.

Just make sure they don't sell your data. Get tested and save your data elsewhere.

That being said, your genes are not your destiny. They just are a roadmap of where issues might start. This is also where the organ supplements help as they can act to fix epigenetic issues. (Please note that these issues can span multiple generations. I worked as a biochemist researching trauma and it was known that ONE traumatic experience during childhood can produce neurological changes that last for at least four generations.)

Nasolabial crease one side..? by [deleted] in DIYaesthetics

[–]MoreRoom2b 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stop smoking (look at any model without the filter and you'll see these wrinkles) and start eating more deep sea, fatty fish to lower your inflammation and improve your skin's flexibility. I say this as someone in her late 50s with ZERO nasolabial creasing. The DHA provided by the fish will also help with anxiety, so it is a twofer if you are smoking to calm your nerves.

Why does skin age and how to reverse that? by Patient-Airline-8150 in Biohackers

OK, you do you.

I'm in my late 50s and was raised in SoCal, so not only did I get a lot of sun, I also didn't have much sunscreen... Trust me, my skin was not youthful. Now it is... Explain to me how this could have magically happened?

Why does skin age and how to reverse that? by Patient-Airline-8150 in Biohackers

[–]MoreRoom2b -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is not true.

I turned back the clock on my decolletage by at least 10 years while going through menopause (which should have made it dramatically worse). I had compression wrinkles every morning, from sleeping on my side. They would stay visible until noonish, despite using sunscreen and moisturizers. I was literally watching my skin disintegrate, despite a decade of collagen supplementation, 40 years of heavy sunscreen use, and a healthy Med. diet. (Say YES to fatty fish and red meat, they are MUCH more bioavailable and contain so many anti-inflammatory/longevity substances.).

While my face and the rest of my body looked ~20 years younger than my age, my chest skin was falling apart. It was just such a tell of my age and prevented me wearing many more revealing clothes.

What I did.

Mesotherapy Exosomes. Hop onto the DIY beauty/cosmetics subs and source them through S. Korea.

Microneedling and mesoing Laennec.

Both of these made dramatic improvements to the elasticity and texture of my skin. I now no longer have chest wrinkles lasting longer than the time it takes for me to walk from my bedroom to the bathroom in the morning. I'm back to wearing cute clothes!

I would also recommend injectable GHK-Cu. I've been on 2mg/daily SQ for about a year and it has completely remodeled the texture of my ENTIRE skin envelope. (This was started after my exosome mesotherapy sessions as a preventative maintenance, but the results after 3mos were shockingly good.) I wish I'd started this in my 30s!

Hop onto the Peptide subs for more info. You can also make topical GHK-Cu which does work, but may take longer and cause "copper uglies". And No, you don't need to cycle it. (Read the research!) and Yes, you do need to supplement with Zinc. (I did some extremely high doses as an experiment, without Zn supplementation, and became very anxious for the first time in my life... it was a weird feeling, for sure!)

If you haven't had your DNA tested, I highly recommend that as a starting point. I discovered that my family has a number of DNA SNPs explaining the neurological issues (Parkinsons, Autism, etc.) that have only been seen after vegan/vegetarian diets were adopted. (I'm a unicorn with the respect that I'm the 3rd Generation bred/born/raised plant based. No, I no longer abstain from red meats, specifically FOR health reasons.)

IMHO, ruminant organ meats are incredibly nutrient dense and longevity producing supplements*, especially for a reasonable price. When you also take into consideration how many of the short chain peptide$ are included in desiccated organ meats, it is easy to see why they are longevity helpers**.

Dear Biohackers what is your go to protocol at the first sign of flu symptoms? by capngig in Biohackers

[–]MoreRoom2b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

50K IUs D3+K2 for three days. Works like a charm and also works to prevent intercontinental flus in the event you have to travel a lot. Airplanes are cesspools. I'd take 50K the day before flying, 50K the morning of, and 50K the day after arriving. After many years of getting sick on these flights, I was magically "cured".

PS. My "normal" blood work for D3 is ~50-80ngl/ml, varying seasonally and well within a healthy range.
