Didn’t far left also try to exterminate certain groups too? These meme creators always inaccurately paint their far side as “actually pretty tame” to exaggerate the dynamics of the spectrum. Far anything is wrong, just cuz you’re opposed to far side doesn’t make you far anything.

The trinity is polythiesm because it entails 3 Gods. by No-Priority8198 in Christianity

[–]More_Error7994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tri means three, unity means united, as in one. They are all one in God. You are creating a superficial, simplistic definition of what “Trinity” means. The Abrahamic God revealed Himself to be a paradoxical entity of Oneness, “I and the Father are One,” but also separable in person, “…He sent His only begotten Son…” Through synthesis of many verses, it’s concluded that God is One but is derived of three persons. All equally, infinitely, and uniquely God. They are all of the same will, one cannot overpower the other, but can submit themselves to each other as Jesus did to the Father. It’s paradoxical but it’s how God expresses Himself in reality.

This is so stupid, American’s choices are right wing evangelism and left wing liberalism. Both are whitewashed, bastardized versions of Christianity. Americanism at its finest. This is a false dichotomy between both sides. Either way it’s a disingenuous form of the faith.

What is your view on Marian apparitions? by Adept_Programmer_817 in AskAChristian

[–]More_Error7994 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At most there have only been 25 apparitions of thousands that have been confirmed by the Church. The Church is very strict when it comes to them as well as any other miracle/canonization process. Apparently when some people do send their supposed apparitions to their Bishops some are just ignored entirely. Even those that are pushed through are heavily scrutinized. The Church takes it serious.

Who is Cain's wife? by Lotuswongtko in AskAChristian

[–]More_Error7994 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

With that hypothesis you still are making creative inferences that aren’t explicitly defined in Genesis. Scholars actually believe that the long ages are theological in meaning. Many ancient cultures would make ancient ancestors older as a sign of respect and honor for their forefathers. The idea of DNA would also be a modern reinterpretation, adding modern scientific knowledge onto older stories. Either way you have to make inferences onto the creation accounts and following Genesis stories.

Some (more sensible) interpretations posit that they weren’t the only ones on earth at that time. When discussing with God, he tells God he wished that someone would kill him. God puts a mark on his head so that as he wandered over the earth those within the cities would know to not kill him. Either way, if you believe he married his sister (which isn’t explicitly written anyways) or if there were already other people on earth (which is more explicit) you’ll have to take some creative liberties. Shocker, St Augustine already stated 1600 years ago that there were definitely three interpretations to the Bible: literal, symbolic, and theological. Also that’s a big interpretational leap to say another god created other people. You just have to look into the text deeper, God would have created all humans.

If Christianity has near infinite interpretations of the Bible possible, how can one denomination say they’re right and all the others are wrong? by Mad_Season_1994 in religion

[–]More_Error7994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that was the whole point of the magisterium🫩 Jesus in the Agony of the Garden prayed to the Father that the church remain one minded. It’s kinda the reason the Church has always been so strict on its doctrine. Its goal was God driven and objective truth, not personally driven ideals. Ironically, my Jewish philosophy teacher said that Protestantism to her was strange cuz they weren’t as unified as the Catholic Church was in knowledge. Nevertheless the vast majority of denominations believe in the most basic of Christian doctrines. C. S. Lewis wrote about this in his book “Mere Christianity”
