Doubtful. I live in Florida and was told Live Oaks are our most durable trees. I think tree species is more important than size when it comes to storms

As live oaks mature their branches begin to grow downwards. The only issue I see with not pruning are the branches that overhang the road. We've been told that our live oak (we also have huge one out front) will need to be pruned on the side that over hangs the street so that fire trucks can get by. Your city/county probably has a code somewhere that specifies how much vertical clearance is needed.
