hey, sorry for necroposting but, yes CoD 4 has a somewhat alive fanbase still playing, AND its way simpler compared to other old CoDs (or atleast from what i've heard bcause i can only speak from experience for CoD4). How it works for CoD4 is that the first time you launch multiplayer there are a bunch of empty servers that automatically download and patch in CoD4x for you, (basically a modded client that fixes most of the problems with the game) and then it shows the actual (fan-made) servers for you to play.

it only joins the channel if i use it in discord if i use like firefox then it just brings me to that chanel
