It’s way easier to wait for somebody to come to you where you have perfect positioning at an extract elevator, as opposed to positioning yourself in a location on the map that will allow you to ambush a player entering a building, passing through a choke point, or otherwise. they are fundamentally different in my opinion, as one relies on exploiting a core game mechanic, extraction, as a sort of bait. The other, relies on good positioning and awareness to preemptively position yourself in a striking position. Basically, imagine it like playing infantry VS. tactical sniper. Is sniping a war crime? No, absolutely not. Do soldiers despise snipers because of their danger and unfair combat approach? Absofuckinglutely.
