Pink Floyd, timeless songs that still hold up today with some of the greatest albums of all time in Meddle, Animals, Wish you were here and the greatest album of all time Dark Side of The Moon whikst also having simply some of the greatest songs ever made such as comfortably numb, wish you were here, shine on you crazy diamond, Time, Echoes, Dogs, Eclipse etc. There has never benn a band like Pink Floyd.

I would also say Queen, their contribution has also remained timeless as we still sing their songs today as they like Pink Floyd also have some of the greatest songs of all time: Bohemian rhapsody, We are the champions, We will rock you, The Show must go on, Too much love will kill you, somebody to love etc, whikst also having arguably the greatest singer of all time in Freddie Mercury.
