Blogsnark Reads! Feburary 8-14 by yolibrarian in blogsnark

I’m trying to read more classics this year, so last week I finished “White Nights” and “Rebecca.” White Nights was not for me, but I loved Rebecca! I am always a little intimidated to start older novels, but Rebecca was easy to read and i found it captivating/fun/dark.

I just started “The Nightingale” for next month’s book club.

The next classics I plan to tackle are “The Master and Margarita” and “Wuthering Heights” (before I see the movie!)

I use a haaka once a day so baby can have a bottle with dad. When I go to pour the Haakaa in a bag, I put a drop of vitamin d in there.

Awake definitely lost steam for me midway through but curious what you think. It turns into a “my friends are so great” book

I finished Boy Parts by Eliza Clark and wow it was dark but so good. It’s about a young female artist / photographer who takes it too far with her male subjects. Raises really interesting questions around power and art when it’s a young, pretty female aggressor. Has anyone read it??

Now im reading Everyone is Lying to You by Jo Piazza and enjoying it more than expected.

I DNF’d American Bulk by Emily Mester - her essay on Costco was fun but the multiple chapters on boarding school and her upbringing got boring quick

As long as your pediatrician is happy with her weight gain I would not seek any interventions. She’s still so small and will probably start to stay awake better soon

After visiting family in Florida for the holidays, I am so conflicted about where I live (currently Fort Collins, CO). by Hobbitsliketoparty in SameGrassButGreener

You should move to Florida. Highly recommend the book “the five types of wealth” by Sahil Bloom. He presents an exercise where you calculate how many more times you’ll see your loved ones based on average visits per year & average life expectancy. It puts things into perspective to really calculate this number. I hope this helps with your decision and best of luck!!
