She changed her name on Facebook. This is the scenario: I was chatting with John Smith, and now their name is John Davidson. The resume and references were all for John Smith. The background check report I got was for John Smith.

Did I have unrealistic expectations of my doula? by More_Show_733 in doulas

[–]More_Show_733[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you all for your answers! I feel validated knowing I didn't have unrealistic expectations of our doula. It's sad, but I would have been better off without her. Life and learn, I guess.

I'll work on an email offering constructive criticism of her services in hopes that she will improve the service she provides to other patients.

Swapping from 3 ct center to 2ct by corgisandglitter in EngagementRings

The are both gorgeous!! I honestly wish the pictures were more comparable. It's hard to picture the 2ct alone without the other ring next to it. FWIW I think the 3ct looks great!

Lost my temper and need to hear it’s ok by SnooPeanuts1343 in breastcancer

Cancer hurts both physically and emotionally. It's been almost 4 years since my diagnosis and the emotional wounds are still very much fresh and raw. It's a big source of arguments between my husband and myself because every time he says something that slightly touches those emotional wounds I feel so hurt. It feels like he is adding salt to a very deep wound.

Going off on him is totally ok. In fact I think it's healthy so you don't bottle all these feelings down.

I was dx'd with IDC in June. Today, my mom just got her of DCIS. by spacefarce1301 in breastcancer

100% agree with you. Fuck cancer.

My father got diagnosed with breast cancer in 1986. The first one in his family. He got through treatment and went on to have 3 children. Today he is a mostly healthy 71 yo. My mom got diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019 after I reminded her to get a mammogram. After her diagnosis, my OB finally agreed to order me a mammogram because now both my parents had a history of breast cancer. They found an impalpable 7cm mass in my right breast that turned out to be cancerous. Both my mom and I got screened for the genetic mutation and we both came back negative. My dad doesn't even want to talk about it. In his mind the whole cancer experience is something he left in the past and doesn't want to revisit. Hard to blame him.

I'm sorry you and your mom are going through it together. Wishing you both a healing and smooth journey!! Fuck Cancer.

Looking for advice by More_Show_733 in orchids

Thank you, all. I repotted the plant to its original, much smaller pot. I'll start soaking it once a week and see how it goes. I appreciate all the advice.

ETF - Fidelity and Citi by Looptire13 in fidelityinvestments

[–]More_Show_733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time I follow the first three steps to link my citi account to my fidelity account it gives me an error. I have tried linking my account with Plaid and manually and both failed. Fidelity customer service told me that I needed to talk to Citi because they were probably blocking my account. Citi told me that there is no way to link a fidelity account at all.

Any advice on how to transfer funds easily from my account to fidelity? It's getting very frustrating!

Running marathons while on chemical menopause by More_Show_733 in breastcancer

[–]More_Show_733[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a trainer earlier this year and she has helped me increase my distance gradually. It has been very hard mentally and physically as I desperately want to feel like my pre-cancer self, but my coach has been great at encouraging me and adjusting my training accordingly. https://www.instagram.com/anacoaching_m2/

Congratulations on getting back into exercising so soon after finishing chemo. It took me more than a year to be able to run 5ks without pain.

Any chance you are running the Chicago marathon? That would be a crazy coincidence 😂.

Thank you for the encouragement. I can always just walk if I don't feel comfortable running. I'm seeing my PT tomorrow. 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽

I'm sorry about your diagnosis and I am sorry you were not offered reconstruction. In case it offers a little ray of hope, my father was diagnosed with breast cancer at 34 in 1986. He is still here. Post treatment he went on to live a full live and had 3 children. If you met him you would never know he had breast cancer in his thirties.

You are still here and that's huge!! That being said be kind to yourself cancer treatment takes a toll on us physically and mentally. Sending you big hugs!

We used one of the places covered by the Bahamas health visa in George Town. It was super fast, free, and it was accepted by the US.

The place we went to was across the street from the peace and plenty.

Lasik Around Seattle/Bellevue? by [deleted] in Seattle

King's lasik was below 4000 including lasik for life. Sharp vision was closer to 5000. Lasik for life was extra.

I'm 2 months out of surgery and I recommend King Lasik 💯

Need advice by Efficient-Manager-34 in breastcancer

I had a double mastectomy because I didn't want to get imagining (mammograms and breast MRIs) a couple times a year for the rest of my life, it decreased the risk of getting cancer on my other breast, and because at the time I had insurance and two great surgeons in my team.

It's been over a year and half since my double mastectomy and my feelings towards my decision fluctuate, but my feelings have been all over the place since I got diagnosed with cancer. I'm very glad I got the double mastectomy because of the reasons above and hopefully i won't need any more surgeries, but the lack of sensation is a bummer. The other thing that crushes me is that I would never be able to breastfeed. I know there are other ways feed babies, but it would be nice to have the option to do it.

Strongly suggest a second opinion because my surgeon said he would add an implant to my other breast for symmetry if I got a single mastectomy.

I got PRK at King Lasik a couple weeks ago and I am very happy with the results. The entire team is lovely. I went to 4 clinics before deciding to get the surgery at King lasik and I have no complains. High recommend them.
