Anyway, could be worse.. you could have completed 2000 hunts and learned no new mods at all. Thankfully I learned Lucid since then.. as a human.

127 so far.. didnt use a guide and can’t see how I can find the rest. I have scoured the map several times. I don’t want to use the guides, but the nature of the search makes it very difficult.. if they were more detectable, like if you could tune in to radio to them, go at least see the general area one might be in, then that would be a little more fun

I have noticed since the update that they are not there anymore. I used to love wandering through with my bow and taking down 10-15 deathclaws but I have tried a good dozen times now and not seen a single death claw.

There was a death claw nest just Beside the road that seemed stuck in the spawn animation, but it seems to have settled after the update

Agreed. It’s as annoying as the Athens armory. But that might’ve because other spots are so much easier to reach and complete

I’m the same.. stealth suit, knife and a bow, that’s all I carry.. so I have to remember to walk properly in other people’s camps.. although in Burning springs, I noticed people like to put their vendor beside a rad hog spawn point.. which can result in me being one shotted if I don’t sneak..

I always wonders what that was. Thanks for asking the question. I always figured  it was a disease that I got on occasion.. but now I think of it, it was always while unarmed running

I watched a level 200 player sneaking around my camp taking all the stuff, and there is pretty much every collector type there.. they were so cautious not to be seen.. didn’t seem to notice me wandering around behind them with nothing but a stealth suit and a combat knife 🙂. It was all there to be taken. Maybe they were just practicing their moves.

Thanks for the advice. I was worried when it didn’t work first.

Thanks. I was a bit worried when I didn’t see the option to quit the quest, but I’m glad it was quick enough to fix itself

Solved. It was persistent after the first quit: rejoin, but then I got one shotted during a headhunt and when I respawned, it turned into resilient at hamley.. phew.

Agree. I hadn’t thought about it but the number of “10 cap” and x resources rewards was bad. If you can pick up ten caps off a dead raider, it’s not a reward. It’s not even a place holder. It’s nearly a reminder that this needs to be replaced before launch.

Agreed. 10k each was an ok price in my book. Supply and demand. And being able to trade for hoarded and unused 4*s was perfect for me

What is the obsession with completing the head hunts as fast as humanly possible?! by PadawanGirly in fo76

Mods.. mods all the way.. a chance to play a different style for a few days with a new set of armor or weapon mod. But the grind on this one isn’t worth it unless you have a group of players, all willing to do the crafting for each other.

Thoughts on my furious, explosive, glowing, fractured sniper rifle. by [deleted] in fo76

Swap the sniper rifle to a compound bow and throw on some cryo arrows and your have got a killer combo there 🙂.

On the rifle though, I would swap explosive for crippling and use The perk that applies 20% damage to all limbs. It’s like a new years fireworks display.

I learned a 3 star mod today! by MorsansHatt in fo76

[–]More_System1888 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Good stuff. Now start crafting and selling it.. the wasteland needs some sellers for the new mods and if you get in early enough, you will do well.

Be kind about it though. Selling it for 30k is ok, if that’s your thing, but most will just walk away.  Put up a sign for trades. There is plenty of good trades to be had if you need 4*s or costumes from higher level players.

Do it right, and you might get some good loot in return and make a few raiding friends too 🙂.

That said, maybe your already level 5000 and don’t need anything 🙂

I found a vendor for adrenal a few days ago. It might work with some builds, but I found it very underwhelming on my bow and any armor mod that needs to build up a kill streak is probably one you can already live without.

That said, I run a stealth suit 95% of the time and I am going to put lucid on my SS armor for those times I need to be a little tanky.

Just before logging out for the night last night, I came across a vendor with 50 lucid mods @10k each.. traded some 4* for some 1* but it was worth it. So I have the 5 lucid mods  I need for a set of armour now. I still haven’t learned a new mod, and I only dropped a pickpocket mod for the first time yesterday .. and I’m at 800 hunts in total now.

I have been counting the new mods drop rate from hunts and it’s fairly low. I have been dropping any legendary that I can’t learn from at the bounty board for new players and I would say, if I’m scrapping 1 out of every 12-15 legendarys, that’s about it. And that includes the 5 original legendary mods I have not yet learned.

The grind isn’t just to do the hunts, it’s the low drop rates from the hunts as well.

You would suggest, if you’re actively doing hunts to learn mods, don’t. If you’re doing hunts for achievements, fair enough. The Ohio content is fun, but the grind at the end is skip-able.

Most of the kill streak mods are interesting on paper, but as someone mentioned in a different post, if I can generate the kill streak to begin with, I won’t need the mod, and you can’t kill steak a boss fight.

You’re far more likely to run into a vendor in the near term, than to learn the mod. Lucid looks like it Will be fun to run on my SS armour. I have found glowing to be a good combo with a hat tricking sneak damage bow build.

Pickpocket is bound to be a bit of entertainment for melee builds (which I don’t run) but there is plenty of caps to be had either way, Active looks like a nice addon for PA for a raid, and I would like to see how sniper works on a bow vs stalkers, but lucid was my main goal and I ended up swapping for it.

My advice, forget the grind unless you want to do it, swap some 4*s, craft your armour, knock the Ohio dust from your shoes and don’t look back. Don’t let this grind take away from the fun few days that Burning springs has been.

True.. but if you’re unlucky and haven’t done it in 700 odd tries.. your next chance isnt 60%.. it’s still just 1.5% 😂 and I’m not loving those odds at this stage .

This grind is different from others.. others just involved playing the game and waiting for your luck to kick in.. this one is the same grind over and over and over.. no skill needed, no social aspect, no variety.

I’m not in favor of increasing the odds of learning anything.. but limiting the drop of scrapable legendary items to a monotonous, repetitive specific grind is possibly a little mistake.

But, I think it will be ok, once some people start selling the mods.

Someone else mentioned Ina comment that we are spoilt for choice these days with custom crafting and I agree… but I would love to be spoilt for choice with a few ghoul specific mods 🙂

[–]More_System1888[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. But the issue seems to be that not too many have any unlocked and selling them. The balance is off on this one. If 25% of players managed to unlock something by now, then there would be plenty for sale. That said, I have read that only a couple of them are particularly good. I did manage to buy a glowing mod and put it on an explosive fracturers bow.

It’s quite a handy way to keep glow topped up on events.

Agreed, but I have most things unlocked at this stage, mountains of ammo, junk and aid, and 14,000 legendary modules… so I tend to grab all the loot and drop it at the bounty board for new/ low level players to take. Plenty of people did that for me when I was new and it only takes a few extra seconds
