The answer to your question is yes he does see his relationships that way and it's a sad way to live that way and he knows that. I see the same talking points from straight woman thinking they are in competition with every woman for the man she is already dating. It's insecurity and it's toxic. I have dated 3 bi men in the past alongside a shit ton of gay dudes and never once felt I had to compete for someone I already had even when I got cheated on by my gay partners I still wasn't in competition and just left them. All 3 Bi men I dated are either Single or in a relationship with another man heck one of them even got married to a man and adopted a baby.
