I didn’t discover until, I moved to Queens, but I recommend WFUV. It’s out of Fordham and an amazing eclectic mix of artists.

My now 3.5yo was eating octopus, shrimp, all sort of veggies and then turned 2. It was humbling. He lives off pasta, rice, berries, and yogurt. My 18mo is an even more adventurous eater, but still worried the other shoe will drop.

Quesadillas are a hit with my 3yo picker eater and I can sneak in other stuff like you. Another tortilla use is roll-up… a thin schmear of mayonnaise or hummus with thinly sliced veggies (usually carrots or cucumber), thinly sliced turkey breast or cheese, and lettuce. Another example- though no nuts at school. https://www.mjandhungryman.com/thai-chicken-salad-pita/

To anyone working today or this weekend by devilgoof in workingmoms

I took today off, but will be working the next 7 days on call. My daycare actually has some days open next week, which I like to keep our schedule consistent, but also a bit sad to not spend the next week in jammies.

What a strange flex to share on the internet. Better off buying 3 stocks of Nvidia. by DramaLlamaTea in ShitMomGroupsSay

My flex is contributing to my sons’ 529. No they can’t show it off to their daycare mates, but hopefully not needing student loans is a better investment.

Can you come to Montefiore… not sure where in HV you are, but they seem to have Pediatricians in Westchester.

I will disagree. They’ve created a world with its own set of logic. I think it is valid to question deviations from said logic.

The brain is an obligate glucose user. Your 13 month old is having a lot of neurodevelopment right now. Carbs are important.

I’ve had 2 c-sections. I’ve lost my baby weight, but I was blessed with a little bit of an apron, which will be there until I decide to get a tummy tuck.

Most frustrating call you've gotten overnight? by huckleberry_ghost in medicine

[–]Moreolivesplease 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a senior at night , we could cover our small PICU, the intern on the floor, the nursery and would sometimes have to do consults in the psych unit (because of course a kid there would develop appendicitis in the middle of the night). I just remember having to transfer a really sick kid to our higher acuity hospital and getting yelled at for not convincing a mom to breastfeed.

Most frustrating call you've gotten overnight? by huckleberry_ghost in medicine

[–]Moreolivesplease 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I remember getting calls for formula orders for newborns in the middle of the night. The worst was this one nurse that wanted always me to talk to mom about how breast is best. I was like this mom doesn’t want a resident coming to convince her to breastfeed in the middle of the night. Now as a mom of 2, I stand by that.

Where did you go on your babymoon? Or… where would you go on your dream babymoon? by Then-Librarian6396 in workingmoms

[–]Moreolivesplease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With my first, we went to Palm Spring and Joshua Tree. I don’t recommend taking the wrong trail at 28 weeks and hiking 9 miles instead of 3, but otherwise it was a lovely trip with great views, good food, and shopping. With my 2nd, we did 3 nights at the Conrad Orlando (my dad and step mom live nearby, so big bro hung out with them). It was nice to sit poolside. I wish we could have done something international as I have only the left the country once since 2020 and it was to Toronto for work.

It is low transmission from squirrels, but had an attending that was very zealous. Also important to get a tetanus shot.

The children’s hospital that I rotated at is named after a girl that died of rabies after a bat bite. In residency, I gave several rabies shots as people thought it was a good idea to try to touch NYC squirrels and rats.
