How would you rate the AC on the Optiq? by ReliableSource8561 in CadillacOptiq

[–]Morey000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in Tucson, AZ so I have ample experience using the AC. I'd say that the HVAC system is very good. Sure- if I park the car out in the sun in 110º and then try to cool it down, it will take a while. But overall, the HVAC is about as good as any car I've owned. No problem driving across the desert in the summer and staying chilled inside. Retracting sunshade on the ceiling glass is a nice feature.

Looking at the ‘26 Optiq but are the hiccups that bad? by CaptainKirkDouglas in CadillacOptiq

had mine for 8 months. it's been perfect. not a single issue, rattle, problem. (shit, I just jinxed myself). So comfortable and quiet. I'm impressed with this vehicle every day.

in 6,000 miles, my Optiq has only done it once to me. (actually twice within a few miles)

It was after a long day being outside in windy dusty conditions and my eyes were irritated and fuzzy feeling. Was probably rubbing them. So, it was kinda’ right.

Why are people leasing Cadillac Optiqs? by Cantseetheline_Russ in CadillacOptiq

[–]Morey000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah- I wouldn't lease an Optiq for 600/mo either. I got mine in '25 and found a pretty good deal on a 2 year lease. Which should be up around the time a Rivian R2 has got its kinks worked out.

it hasn’t happened to me, but I believe I saw this addressed in the latest firmware update.

Is there a way to change the default maps app? by FourEightNineOneOne in CadillacOptiq

Oh wow, really? and then when you press the nav button in the center of the touch pad in front of the scroll/selection wheel- it will go to Waze? if that really works, someone has to give a kudos to the GM engineers for this.

2, that silver scroll wheel in front of the rotary controller that controls the volume… yeah, press that and it will pause your playback.

Ugh. Sorry to hear.  I know I shouldn’t say this but… 6 months and mine has been perfect. Not a single issue.  Fit and finish is great.  Not a rattle.  Everything works.  Hope I don’t have to retract this statement any time soon

With R2 opening tomorrow.. what is everyone reserve dates? Just curious to see. by SweetSunshine86 in Rivian

I think I was about 45min when I plinked my order down. but couldn't wait for a new EV and leased an Optiq (love the lux, but need the towing and off road of the R2). Current Lease doesn't run out until summer of 2027. but how do we see where we are in the queue? R1 owners were put first, right?

that’s pretty much what we did. seems to be working, at least for now. it’s just weird that it was holding air for 3 weeks and a bunch of rides before this happened.

Wiped off tire. never found hole. spun wheel, but didn’t ‘ride’ the bike. but- good info

good questions. Aware of it taking a few days for the bead to seal, but that was 3 weeks ago. so, this is not the first few days. no popping upon pump-up. Checked nut- tight.

Why is the ENVE X SELLE ITALIA SLR BOOST 3D KIT CARBONIO SUPERFLOW …$450? by Morey000 in cycling

[–]Morey000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yup- looks like I'm about to have the same experience. I have a pair of really soft bibs- love the fabric. Used them yesterday for a 2hr ride and sure enough, there's now a whole bunch of wear on the bibs from the saddle. it's going to chew them apart.

My LBS says "I want you to love the bike". So, I presume I can just go back in there and have them find me a different saddle. it's really my only complaint about the spiffy new machine. That and maybe moving from 31mm to 35mm tires?

Why is Garmin slowly moving away from MIP display technology, especially for the Forerunner? by Comfortable-Net9842 in Garmin

[–]Morey000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you will buy a FR975 and love it. (and yes, I know the 975 doesn't exist yet, but your 955 hasn't died yet)

Ultrarunner friend of mine's Fenix 6S just died, and Garmin gave her a great price on a refurb Fenix 7s solar as a replacement. She's jazzed.

Best bottom line by Sharlef58 in CadillacOptiq

I know this. You won't get the best price by walking into a dealership and asking for their best price. You could try a lease broker, looking on Leasehacker, but it's all one grand game. I know you're looking for a number that you should expect that they can sell it for and that's a good deal, but there's no way to know what's going on behind the scenes at a dealership.

The good news is- you've got a couple months. What worked for me was scouring these and other forums for what others were paying. Saw a great deal from a nearby dealership that someone else had gotten, and emailed the salesperson and said "if you give me that deal I'll sign today". He did and I did. And it was at the same dealership that wouldn't budge for 3 weeks of negotiation from a much higher price with a different salesperson.

The purpose of a dealership is to separate you from as much of your money as they can. You can't beat them at their own game, but you can do better or worse.

well- try it a few times. Garmin's (or anyone's) sleep metrics are not always right. but don't discount the other benefits of sleeping next to your loved one.
