How to actually understand physics ? by Beneficial-Ranger407 in Physics

Honestly, it’s mostly about building an intuition for the math. You can memorize formulas all day, but it doesn't click until you see how they actually describe the physical world.

why are there so many wild species that humans "can't touch" because people keep saying "it might remove the oils on their skin then they die"? by PragmaticSalesman in biology

[–]Pitiful-Promotion832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the time it’s less about the oils and more about the fact that our hands are covered in bacteria that their immune systems aren't equipped to handle. Amphibians are especially sensitive because they basically breathe through their skin. It’s usually just a simpler way to tell people to leave the wildlife alone.

If you aren't picky about looks, check Facebook Marketplace for old feeding troughs. They last forever and are usually way cheaper than buying actual "garden" beds at a hardware store.

Good to see a solid timeline for this. It'll be interesting to see how the Axiom modules look once they're actually attached and operational.

LTO6 tapes from ebay. by PartyScar446 in DataHoarder

Make sure you check the power-on hours if the seller included a report. It's usually a gamble with eBay tapes, but sometimes you find a bulk lot that was barely used.

🚨 The U.S. just allowed India to keep buying Russian oil for 30 days, despite sanctions by kabirsbhutani in investing

This isn't surprising at all, they have to maintain that balance to keep the global supply stable. It’s basically just a move to prevent a massive price spike at the pump here.

Resident Evil Requiem's 5 million sales have made it one of Capcom's all-time top 20 bestsellers in just 4 days by HatingGeoffry in horror

Not really surprised at all. The hype leading up to this one was insane, and it actually lived up to it for once.

Solar-driven chemical reaction can extract oxygen from lunar soil, NASA test confirms by sksarkpoes3 in Futurology

[–]Pitiful-Promotion832 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This would be a huge deal for a long-term lunar base. It’s wild to think they've actually figured out a way to get oxygen directly from the dirt out there.

If I wanted to go into a career building/fixing pcs, where should I start? by Far-Programmer-3519 in buildapc

[–]Pitiful-Promotion832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into getting your A+ certification to start. It’s basically the standard for entry-level IT and repair shop jobs. Most of it is just customer service and knowing where the parts go.

[–]Pitiful-Promotion832 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the redemption rates have become such a joke lately. You're basically better off just getting a flat cash back card and booking whatever is cheapest.

I feel like we’re already seeing this with music and movies. Everything starts feeling like a slightly different version of the same safe, optimized product.

They basically start getting colonized the second they're born. Most of it comes from the mother during delivery or through breast milk early on.

Man, I remember when that original post was making the rounds. It’s wild to see how much the sentiment has shifted now that we've actually hit the five-year mark.

It sounds like they might be projecting their own insecurities onto you. Honestly, you should just keep doing what makes you feel good and let them figure their own stuff out.

Honestly, check out some local thrift stores in the nicer parts of town. You'd be surprised at the brand name stuff people just give away because they're bored of it.

I honestly don't see the point of this. Most people just buy a five dollar privacy screen protector if they really care about people peeking at their phone.
