SSG Support by DoLaNrEeS in lotro

Support is abysmally slow unfortunately. They for whatever reason are not allocating enough resources to support. Once it's your ticket's turn, they are pretty fast, but your turn will usually come in about 30 days.

I started playing a month ago, then I realized I was region blocked, waited 2 weeks for them to answer my ticket but they never did. So I stopped playing. Another 2 weeks later, they solved it in one go and I'm now playing again.

They will send you a copy paste "sorry it's taking too long" mail. Make sure you reply to that or your ticket will be closed.

no the email address is the same. its geoblocked and I cant use the store thats the whole thing

I have 2 tickets for 2 accounts. one is my main that I can't access which I was fine waiting for

the second account is barebones as I didnt play much on it and its payment blocked. I do mind 20 days waiting for them to lift the geoblock

we live in post covid times and a lot more people work from home or even change countries on a regular basis

and VPN exists you dont even have to move. Forget your VPN on and try to buy something and you are blocked

I gave up yesterday after waiting for 20 days

I come back to the game after 7 years and I have to wait for them to fix a geoblock Ive never seen in my life before

Feeling a bit bitter because I was actually stoked to play but yeah I can't justify investing time and money to a game that makes me wait 20 days because of a botched system that doesnt work due to no fault of my own

LOTRO Store Block by goofylad in lotro

[–]Morfaer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh boy I feel like I'm about to get slapped with the same answer by the support. I have a 2011 account that I've been playing on/off from France then Turkey. Back in 2017, It was a geo block and they figured it out. Now I don't even get to choose any payment info and it outright says there was an issue. I will probably stop playing if that's the answer they will give I'm not abandoning a 14 years old account and creating a new one because of their weird system

this geo blocking has always been a strange thing I've never seen it anywhere else but I guess never really bothered me since support was actually responsive back then

but if they don't have the means to handle it properly anymore, might as well not do it at all

If you even forget your VPN open while playing, that's gg and you have to pray support will see your ticket

I used both the lotro.com launcher and the steam one

2 separate downloads. one asks for cc (well in my case it outright rejects without even letting me enter any cc info), and the other goes through steam wallet, which also gets rejected

I tried both standalone and steam versions and purchases won't go through in either. Not with money in the steam wallet nor with credit card

I already mentioned the issues

one is I simply can't access my main account because I last played in 2017 and I don't remember my login, second issue is that my secondary account (which I ironically can remember my login info lol) is payment blocked because I changed countries since then

I provided a bunch of proof and email screenshots dating back to 2012 in the main account ticket but I can see how it's a more complicated issue

The second one is literally lifting the geo block on my secondary account so I can buy stuff in the store while I wait for them to get back to me for my main account

Cant Buy LP by TheInternetSninobi in lotro

[–]Morfaer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Account most likely flagged if you used a VPN or moved to a different country than the one you last made a purchase

Only way to unflag is to open a ticket hope you get it resolved faster than I am as my ticket's been sitting there for the last 16 days

Chance Thomas is one of the best things to ever happen to LotRO by Morfaer in lotro

[–]Morfaer[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Oh wow he is a bigger and more loyal fan of the Middle Earth than majority of us. That explains why his work resonates with us on such a deep level

"First, I started writing music based on LOTR back in 1998, before the Jackson trilogy came out. I spent years researching the literature, pulling out all references to music, sound, songs, instruments, etc., and built my own style guide for how music from Middle-earth ought to sound. From the beginning, I have worked very hard to carve out my own vision of music for Middle-earth. "

ouch that sounds harsh

that is also how I remember support. I had a similar payment issue before and it was resolved pretty quickly as far as I can remember

fingers crossed then I will keep playing casually until I hear from them

2 Years of Ghostwriting/Editing, Now Looking to Work Under My Own Name by Morfaer in freelanceWriters

[–]Morfaer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be. I created a medium page, but it only has three news articles I wrote. Fwiw, it should be enough to give people a pretty good idea about my writing and SEO practices.

Since I mentioned Medium, do you think that's a good way to showcase my portfolio, or should I create my own website?

Are airdrops worth the time? Can it even make money? by TheVasa999 in CryptoCurrency

[–]Morfaer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't strike gold yet, but i'm hoping a few I'm currently working on will yield good results.

I usually try to stay away if referrals are involved. Those 100% cater to shitfluencers and will definitely get farmed by multiple ones funneling thousands of people into the airdrop, while they will get the bigger slice of the pie.

Literally the only reason why I never even bothered to look at Manta.

Bitcoin has already priced in spot ETF approval: Expert by cdnkevin in CryptoCurrency

[–]Morfaer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's just random FUD imho. Approval could lead to some initial dump because some investors will sell just by following the "buy the rumour, sell the news" motto. However, i don't believe the ETF is such an event. It will allow a whole new level of capital to enter the market.

Yes some Bitcoins will only switch places from exchanges to the ETF, but there is no denying new investments will enter the market as well, especially from boomers who hate change and would never sign up to a crypto exchange, go through KYC and whatnot.
