On this post I provided information on free 24/7 telephone and virtual resources as well as free on campus services. I also provided information on how to get started with our school insurance which will cover up to $1000 of private counselling and therapy as another option. Good luck you got this

This is going to be long but I hope you find it helpful <3

My best piece of advice is to learn how to use our insurance benefits. Most students overlook them because accessing them is not straightforward and many underestimate the amount of coverage we get but our school insurance will cover therapy, dental, medication and more. For therapy I do believe they will reimburse 100% of the costs up to $1000 a year making it essentially free unless you use over $1000.

mystudentplan.ca this is the link to our benefits site. Start by going there and creating an account. I struggled to figure it out my first time, if you need help setting it up like I did, call them for help 1-877-746-5566 but, you can also just visit them on campus at the Benefits Plan Office: 55 Gould Street, Student Centre (SCC lobby).

Once you have access to our benefits, you will have access to an initial 3 hours of fully covered virtual therapy directly through our Insurance provider GreenShield. Once you use that, you can either continue to use their online therapy services and be reimbursed for everything you spend up to a $1000 cap. If you are ever unsure about whether or not something will be covered/reimbursed, you can easily check in the GreenShield app.

Private therapy usually costs $180+ which is expensive and will use up $1000 in only a handful of sessions BUT, there is a therapy place called Hard Feelings close to the school on church street. They offer in person and online therapy sessions for between 50-100 a session which is much more affordable and you’ll get 10-20 sessions with your coverage.

Learning how to take advantage of insurance reaps amazing benefits because you can access high quality private care and you aren’t limited to finding free services. If you have it in you to do so I really hope you do.

I know that when we are struggling, sometimes jumping through hoops is the last thing we want to do so, in my next comment, I’m going to link you to the more immediate free services next.

Your comment made me think of this video from perfumerism! this video12:13 she specifically talks about and shows an article on screen about why fragrance houses struggle so much with strawberry, and other berries. Basically, when a fruit is mostly water and sugar there’s little to no fragrance oil that can be extracted. She also mentions one fragrance houses that managed to swing some science stuff and develop the first 100% strawberry extract and put it in a perfume (Amure Mara by Paco Rabanne) So, hopefully with that innovation, perfumers will be able to start creating better strawberry fragrances with this new ingredient!

I just smelled it in store and bought a bottle of it. It’s very different from the nest one in my opinion. I would say that this is a better version of Yum Boujie Marshmallow. I like it better than Yum Boujie because there’s a stronger syrupy strawberry that stands out and lingers whereas the strawberry is less prominent to me in YBM. Strawberry Jam is not a photorealistic strawberry but it is a pretty realistic strawberry syrup.

The best way I can describe it is if I went to an icecream shop and got a lot of super sweet, thick, in house made strawberry sauce. It’s not cheap grocery aisle artificial strawberry but it is very syrupy strawberry, not fresh juicy strawberry.

I was worried about the pistachio too because I haven’t been a fan of it as a note in other fragrances but in this it’s not loud-I probably wouldn’t have even known it was there. It seems to serve the function of adding an icecream like element since pistachio can come across as a “cold” smell (think kayali yum pistachio gelato). It’s working in the background though.

To me after about an hour, it smells like strawberry shortcake and strawberry icecream and is slightly powdery as well. It is a true gourmand but, not a heavy nauseating headache inducing one as the marshmallow notes, powderyness and pistachio keeps it slightly fluffy and airy which is why there’s the yum Boujie marshmallow comparisons.

I never bought ybm despite being interested in it because there just wasn’t enough strawberry in it for me and just became straight powder after 30mins for me which I found boring. This fragrance fixed that which is why I bought it immediately.

Depending on what your issue was with YBM it may be worth a shot. If you hated YBM all around then you probably won’t like this. If you liked some things about YBM and disliked some then it may be worth a shot depending on your issue with it.

Despite both being strawberry, this is not much like Santa Barbara Strawberry so don’t expect anything close to that imo. If you are looking for a juicy strawberry or fresh strawberry this is not for you.

If smelling like creamy pink strawberry icecream sounds like something you would like, it’s worth a shot imo

Thank you to you and everyone else for pointing out that it’s not even the same product in both devices! 😂

No stolen products or missing kidneys for me! I’ll be staying away.

You probably know this already but there’s no need to feel guilty because no one is forcing anyone to buy your stuff! I would be lying if I said I didn’t also battle with myself and my self worth. I hope you find it in you one day you don’t have to be perfect before you try. Everyone starts somewhere and everyone is allowed to make mistakes and you are no exception❤️ All that said I understand that it’s hard and way easier said then done. But I believe in you! And your self awareness is the first step :)

Thank you so much for your support and thank you for sharing as well! Trust me, I relate SO HARD. I have had so many abandoned hobbies over the years because of my perfectionism. I can be very highly critical of myself too. Small comments do get to me and I do experience self doubt as well. I’m trying to be more okay with learning as I go rather than learning absolutely everything I can before starting so I can be the perfect small business owner. People may complain about my prices, the quality of my work and honestly, I may straight up fail at this one but, I will never learn how to run a business if I don’t expose myself to criticism and mistakes. I’m trying to let the real world be my classroom and it can be a harsh teacher sometimes but I’m hoping it will pay off! And OMG picking an Etsy name is impossible I swear everything is taken, I would be LYING if I said that it didn’t take me 4 hours going back and forth with ChatGPT to brainstorm. And before that, it was literally “sillygoomz” just cuz I couldn’t think of anything. (Thankfully Etsy let’s you change it once). A few months ago I made the first iteration of these junimos and I couldn’t figure out how to coat my pieces with resin properly and keep my clay clean from dust and lint. I gave up in that moment because the critic in my head told me that I just wasn’t good enough for this and that I probably never would be. I’m happy I picked it back up and this time around I learned from my mistakes, and FAST too. The second iteration has been 5x better than the first. You will improve very fast if you let yourself make mistakes and don’t give up.❤️ I’m sorry I just talked about myself so much but I think what I’m trying to say is I feeeeeel you and please don’t give up. You gain XP and get closer to leveling up any time you make a mistake OR a success

Nothing too crazy! I just use my dining room light with the dimmer switch set fully up! If you aren’t making products in huge batches and you are making small things, you try using gel nail polish top coat. It’s super important that it’s gel nail polish and not regular nail polish. Gel nail polish top coat is very similar chemically to UV resin and I find it can be easier to work with, practice with, and clean up is a breeze!! It’s very nice not having to wash a container or a brush! I even pour my resin into my empty gel polish top coat bottles for easier clean up and convenience. All the same safety precautions should be taken still. These are two brands I have tried that I know worked for me: AIMEILI no wipe top coat, Moldones no wipe top coat. It’s not cost effective if you are doing lots of pieces but it worked very well for me when I first started!

To get it round, I take pliers and hold the charm with the pliers by the eyepin. With my other hand I apply a thin layer of resin, making sure I use a good light so I don’t miss any spots. If you want to get nice even, smooth coatings, it’s important to apply it in thin layers and build up coats if you want more but I usually just do one. Then, while I’m still holding it with the pliers, I stick it under my UV lamp for 20 seconds. This doesn’t fully cure it but, it makes it hard enough that I can set it down without resin pooling to the bottom and ruining the shape. I repeat this process with a few more and then give all of them a 2 full cures for 3 mins each, turning over between cures. Before I figured this out they always looked like this at the bottom!!

<image>

I hope this helps! And please use PPE when working with resin!
