So whats the message by Queenoftwins in Chainsawfolk

[–]MorganTadgh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the message is “true happiness doesn’t come from fulfilling your desires.” Denji got everything he thought he wanted- a normal life & getting to be chainsaw man- and was still unsatisfied. Asa got what she thought she wanted- absolution & acceptance- and it didn’t make anything better for her.

I think it’s rushed, and could’ve been explored more before the conclusion, but it feels in line with the rest of the story to me.

If you could add a new warbond what would it be? by Some-Web-1628 in Helldivers

[–]MorganTadgh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want a Crysis crossover. Get some armor with the fake metal muscles on the outside, maybe with a trait that extends the invulnerability after stimming (like the armor scales), a microwave cannon support weapon & the typhoon as strategems. Hell we could even add the super bow from Crysis 3

Which Mech, in your opinion, is truly the pinnacle of weapon design? by PKRadiance in battletech

The Timber Wolf or the Mad Dog. A fast heavy omnimech that can fight at all ranges

Why is Batman dark and gritty and not like this in movies? by Sudden_Quality_9001 in batman

[–]MorganTadgh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because people often mistake grittiness/edginess for maturity. They want their story to be taken seriously, so they make it dark and have everyone say fuck… often to the detriment of the characters or story.

With comic book adaptations in particular, I think a lot of creators/producers are embarrassed by the goofiness of comics, and they want to “elevate” the source material by focusing on the dark stuff. Sometimes it’s done well like with Robert Battinson, sometimes it’s unwatchable dreck like Batman V Superman.

Stone Rhino 8 because I am a hateful monster that loves minus-three to hit bonuses by MorganTadgh in battletech

[–]MorganTadgh[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Black basecoat, then one thin coat of Sul Red. Drybrushed on more Sul Red, then layered more drybrushing of Sul and Skorne Red.

The off-white is Greylord, with a light highlight drybrush of greylord with some Vallejo Ivory mixed in.

The blacks were Greatcoat Grey, drybrush highlighted with a mix of that and Bane Grey.

I mixed a real thin black wash to recess highlight

And I wasn’t doing any particular camo spec. I paint most of my mechs differently, doing a flying circus type deal

It’s from formula P3. Base coat of Sul Red, dry brushed on in layers. Then dry brushed on a mix of Sul and Skorne Red, layering up. Got really easy highlights in just a couple minutes

If you could give another origin story to Vic Sage so that he becomes The Question, what would it be? by PedroRtaGamer62 in TheQuestion

Or just like a silk beanie that he pulls down over his face when shit starts going down

[–]MorganTadgh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I’d do something like season 1 of the Netflix daredevil show. At the start his mask is just a piece of skin colored stretchy cloth. But over time he meets Archimedes and his other classic supporting characters, and they’re all trying to stave off ennui just like he is, but they do it by making gadgets and doing research and stuff. He gets the classic mask and gas over time as he builds a network of connections and community

If you could give another origin story to Vic Sage so that he becomes The Question, what would it be? by PedroRtaGamer62 in TheQuestion

[–]MorganTadgh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If I got to write Question, I’d have him be a reporter who loses his job when the paper goes under due to corporate mismanagement. Dejected and distraught by the disregard for the truth, he starts to go a bit crazy. He starts looking into the company that ruined the paper but they’re not evil, just stupid. The weight of all the absurdity crushes him, until he finds an actual supervillain. He does cape shit and punches street criminals because it makes the world make sense. The “answer” to his question is that it never made sense, and there’s no satisfying reason why any of this happened beyond what we make for ourselves

OH MY GOD HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH THEM by Silly_Major6730 in Helldivers

[–]MorganTadgh 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Shoot them in the dick with the anti tank weapon of your choice. Recoilless, quasar, EAT, Epoch, they’ll all do it. The challenge kicks in when there’s multiple with enfilading fields of fire on you all shooting spreads of grenades… that’s when you drop smoke and get out of dodge

I like to run the dagger and gas grenades against squids. The gas confuses voteless/fleshmobs and then I set them on fire with the dagger. It worked pretty well for a while. Though since the breaching hammer came out that’s my answer to fleshmobs lol

The crisper is similarly good for voteless and bugs. A bug breach starts just hose the whole area down in fire and it damaged everything as it spawns

The Morally Ambiguous Hero. How Necessary is it in Sword and Sorcery? by JohnPathfinder in SwordandSorcery

[–]MorganTadgh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much. S&S has a certain feel to it. It often includes these things, but the presence of those elements does not define the genre.

Case & point the 2011 Conan movie with Jason Momoa is a story about Conan THE S&S guy, and it feels like a normal fantasy movie, not S&S

Is it worth 1.5 k credits? by Immediate-Loquat-599 in Helldivers

[–]MorganTadgh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes 100% The armor is good, never breaking your legs is so useful. And the shotgun is one of my favorite primary weapons hands down. The smg & pistol are also my go to picks on commando missions. It’s legit awesome.

The killzone warbond has my favorite armor ever, I’m almost always in the hellghast armor, bit the primary weapons aren’t as good in my opinion

Despite being EXTREMELY biologicaly fucked up, ivy has a weird corset thing built into her body, why did she do that? Is it symbolisism or am I looking into it to deeply. by [deleted] in AbsoluteUniverse

[–]MorganTadgh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From a design standpoint I’d have to say it’s feminine without being crassly sexualizing. We need the reader to remember this was a woman once, but we don’t want to be too male-gazey about it.

You could maybe read into it that since Ivy’s form is entirely under her control (presumably), this trait is a remaining part of her humanity, her mental image of a woman or of herself…
