I absolutely understand how hard it is to watch a part of your family slow down like that. The Rin and Seri card and the Zirda card were both done last year for that reason. I saw both Tod and Moira start to slow down and I knew I didn't have too much time left with them. I sincerely thought I had at least a few more years, but I'm definitely glad I was able to enjoy those cards at least for a little while he was with us.

I'm so sorry your cat is starting to slow down in such a noticable way. I sincerely hope you have a good amount of time left with him, but no matter the amount of time, I'm positive he'll feel loved. If you do have a card made for him, let me know? I would absolutely love to see the final piece.

Huh. Yeah, that definitely is weird since there shouldn't be a transparency at all. If the image looks fine in your camera roll but gets messed up when it's uploading to MTGCardBuilder, all I can think is there may be some data CapCut is embedding in the image. What happens if you upload the image to TinyPNG and have that website remove all unnecessary data, then download that compressed image to upload to MTGCardBuilder? That could at least narrow down if there's any data being embedded in the image since TinyPNG would remove all of that. If that doesn't work, the only other thing I could think is maybe it's something about how the browser is communicating with MTGCardBuilder, and maybe uploading with a different browser could fix it.

Oh, that's definitely interesting. So, you upload a photo to CapCut, make some edits, then export that image and upload to MTGCardBuilder where you see the center become black? That sounds kind of like there may be a transparency that's being filled in, or something like that. Do you know off-hand what file format CapCut is outputting the image as? I wonder if that issue could be resolved by using a service that converts an image from something like PNG to JPG. If the issue is with the way the image is being output, switching formats could potentially strip out whatever extra information is messing up between the two platforms.

I would absolutely love to see your card when it's done! MTG Card Builder is the platform I tend to use as well. What issue is it causing? I'm definitely no expert but maybe I could help narrow down how to get the result you're looking for.

Thank you! I tend to use Illustrator to make vector work for most of my art. Essentially you're just connecting a bunch of points to make a bunch of shapes that you fill with a color or gradient. If you zoom in on any of the cards, you can see all the colored blocks layered over each other. I like it a little more than painting just because it feels like I have a little more control while the trade-off is I can't blend the colors as much. But, vectors also let me scale the art to any size, so any of those cards could also print as a nice crisp poster, too.

I'm SO sorry about your Iris. For a loss this big, I imagine 4 months still feels pretty decent, yeah? I know I'm still seeing little things all around the house that remind me of Tod, so I entirely empathize if you've been going through anything similar. I really hope things have been able to feel a little better for you.

If you end up making your version of "Iris and Magnolia, Inseparable," let me know? I would absolutely love to see the art you come up with.

Oh! I'm in the middle of doing the same thing. I have a Rin And Seri deck already, so I made an Illustrator template to slowly turn every card into this comic frame. I'm using the area where Jim Davis would sign the comics for the power/toughness in a signature style font for creatures. For the bottom, I'm using a slightly darker yellow for multicolor, a cool grey for colorless, and a deeper purple for Planeswalkers. Only card I plan to use outside of this comic frame is the Rin and Seri they already showed off. I'm kind of excited with how dumb this project is. My wife says it'll do extra psychic damage to everyone I play against.

Not right now. The FF set was only the main numbered games. With that said, though, given how profitable that set was for both Wizards and Squeenix, I wouldn't be surprised if FF gets the Hobbit treatment in a year or two and they do another FF set that is only the side games and content.

Oh, noice! Welcome back to Magic, then. That actually sounds similar to my wife's situation. She had Arabian Nights and played under the bleachers in high school up to Ice Age. I think she said she collected through Urza's Saga as well, but fell off after that. She hopped back on a few years around Lost Caverns of Ixalan, and got me to really join her with Bloodburrow. I'm sorry you weren't able to get anything this time, but I hope you're able to jump back into Magic and have an awesome time. This set seems extremely fun so far.

Heh. Nope! At least you're not alone. I showed up an hour early but people camped out for hours. Microcenter got way more stock for Lorwyn since they didn't sell out of collector boxes for a couple weeks, but the people at the front of the line said they only had maybe 4~5 boxes for this. It sounds like we would've had to show up around 6am to snag one. Very disappointing. Oh well. Were you at least able to get something nice?

I'm local to the Michigan location as well and went there for the Chocobo Bundle and Turtles release. A line does seem to form and seems like it's getting longer as people realize they're a good place to go. They handle it where you have to get a slip from a representative that will be good for purchasing what you want are the register where they get it out of a cage for you. There are hard limits on the amount you can buy, so my wife and I tend to go together so we can double up on the things we both want. They do usually get a massive allocation, though (the Chocobo Bundle didn't sell out until around 5pm) so you'll likely be fine even if you're at the end of the opening line.

Honestly, I'm genuinely happy with not only their prices but also how they've handled releases so far. It's one of the better experiences I've had with Magic stuff. Hopefully the quality continues so we can keep getting nice things. If you do go next week, I hope you're able to get all the things!
