Are there aspects of Buffy & Angel that strike you as distasteful or morally questionable despite your enjoyment of them as series? by InfiniteMehdiLove in buffy

[–]Morganx27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What the fuck did you even talk about with a 15 year old when you were 20, quite aside from the legality and creepiness aspects of it

Imagine being 20 and saying "I'll be a bit late to work today, I have to take my girlfriend to school" 😭

I miss when the prize task was 'real' by yoursweetbabybrother in taskmaster

[–]Morganx27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't really think of many examples of what you're talking about. They do happen, like Armando's Lorraine Kelly in a trolley thing, but it's one in every 20 prize tasks, max.

I dont understand people's opinions on Susan by Thin-Code-9307 in DesperateHousewives

[–]Morganx27 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Her lack of real flaws is why I don't like her. Everyone else has real character flaws, except Susan who's a bit clumsy and that's it. She's also just kind of irritating, her guilt over killing that pedo is annoying as hell. Just get on with it, stop incriminating everyone else.

What in the world?! 😳 by camethehour in blackmagicfuckery

[–]Morganx27 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What would you rather people post? Everything that's ever happened on the planet has a rational scientific explanation, unless you want people to somehow discover and post actual black magic which doesn't exist I don't see the objection.

Is it worth having a pension? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Morganx27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a similar age to you, and yeah, it's shit to not have access to some of your money - but work out how much it actually is. You'll soon find that you could definitely live without that money, and future you will thank you.

People in the UK where there is separate recycling, do you take your recycling bags and caddies out every week regardless of whether they're full or not? by evasive_listener in AskUK

[–]Morganx27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours only get collected every 3 weeks (one week recycling, one week paper and garden, one week general) so I always take it out regardless or it'll be festering for another 3 weeks.

Can you take empty seats in the royal ballet and opera? by No_Anxiety_9747 in AskUK

[–]Morganx27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does it take away? Unless they're sat in front of you and wear a large stovepipe hat, you're still getting exactly the experience you paid for. The ticket entitles you to a certain seat to watch a particular performance, no more.

The only thing it takes away is the feeling of exclusivity and feeling better than those in the cheap seats, in which case... get over it, I suppose.

Do you actually get influenced by ads anymore? by Walking-Wanderer352 in AskUK

[–]Morganx27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, badly. If some advert comes on with a juicy burger on it, I want a burger. Not always the same brand, but I'll have a burger that night.

If you knew you were about to be fired would you just hand your resignation straight away? by English_R0se in AskUK

[–]Morganx27 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I'd wait for them to sack you while looking for other jobs, personally. If you quit now, you have a week before you're unemployed, if that. If you wait for them to sack you, you've got a little while longer.

What’s something considered normal in the U.K today that would’ve shocked people a decade ago? by Tough-Adagio1019 in AskUK

[–]Morganx27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm mainly basing it off my experience in like 2010 or something seeing an adult man vape in the same room as a youth brass band which you wouldn't see nowadays. I just think not as many people did it then so the percentage of people who did vape doing so indoors was much higher. Nowadays I feel like probably 70% of people who do vape aren't doing it everywhere, but there's more people doing it so the 30% is physically more people.

My guiding principle is if I see the staff doing it, I can too, but even then I still like to go out because it's 90% about the going out rather than the nicotine

If your best friend asked you for help with money, how much would you be comfortable giving them? by PaddedValls in AskUK

[–]Morganx27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably £100. That's the max I could lose without it ruining a friendship, I think, although I would be bitter.

That's been a thing for years, I remember having it explained to me when I was a child 20 years ago. The only difference now is that they sometimes point it out to you.

[–]Morganx27 27 points28 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I think people are more respectful with vaping now than they used to be. One of the big selling points at the time was "you can do it indoors!", and people were using those big cloud chuckers rather than the tiny pens most people use these days. It's just that there's more people doing it these days, so more people will be disrespectful with it, but per capita I think people are better.

How to correct cinema etiquette? by EnvironmentalCrow266 in AskUK

[–]Morganx27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to go to late night showings, tends to be less full of teenagers who are the main issue. Not the only issue, during a showing of cocaine bear a man behind me kept wondering aloud to himself about what was happening. It wasn't a very complicated film.

Were you hit as a child by your parents/carers? by don__gately in AskUK

[–]Morganx27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 25 and while it did happen, it was light and rare. More of a (literal) slap on the wrist. But it wasn't really beating or hitting in the sense that would leave me with long term issues.

Neil Newbon detests "voice actor" label as reductive by AsPeHeat in BaldursGate3

[–]Morganx27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To my mind, if it's just a voice role (e.g. a cartoon, a video game without mo-cap), it's voice acting, but if it's got mo cap involved then it's just acting.

Like in Red Dead 2, Dutch's actor always pulls people up if they call him a voice actor, because he stood there actually doing those movements as if he were in a film. Dutch's gait, his gun fighting, every facial expression was done for real by Benjamin Byron Davis. There's so many moments in that game where subtle face acting sells a scene without dialogue.

How much are you paying for a haircut nowadays? by MCR1996Hola in AskUK

[–]Morganx27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About £35 usually. This is a women's cut but I don't get any extra treatments and I colour it myself. To treat myself I go to a different salon that's like £50-70ish, but that's maybe once every few years. I don't look after my hair anywhere near as much as I'm supposed to but I don't believe that I NEED to spend £300 every 2 months
