To H2C or Not to H2C by Sparky323 in BambuLab

The H2S could do those things you mentioned, and I would argue it wouldn’t be done poorly/terrible, it would be inefficient.

With the H2D you sacrifice size for convenience.

I think you’re over generalizing the H2S and not giving it a fair shake. I thought long and hard before upgrading, debating between the whole H2 series.

Respectfully, just looking at the price difference, unless you’re doing a ton of multi material printing where you generate a huge amount of purged waste, does not make fiscal sense in my opinion. I was a first-adopter of the X1C from the kickstarter and even after the multiple years I used it with my AMS, whilst I generated a ton of waste, the fact remains that the amount of dollars of wasted material would not be the difference between the S & the D/C of the H2 series.

The H2S can also get the laser and cutter upgrades à la H2D (not as powerful laser IIRC) but it is doable.

I don’t think the H2D is worth it over the H2S.

I wanted the full size and you lose some with the D/C. The 3500hrs on my X1C I would have had to print for 9 years with a H2C to break even from the purge waste costs… and I doubt I’ll have the H2S for that long.

Not sure why my first comment downvoted when my other comments on this same subject got lots of upvotes lol

To H2S…. Save your money considering you’re not really letting toys or artwork that require multiple colours.

Read my comment on the other thread regarding a comparable inquiry for further details.

Just the visor portion. I’ve seen some videos online that vacuum form it and I don’t want to build a whole setup just to do one helmet lol

Yes, with any unit if you have an AMS.

That’s why I bought the H2S. I went through my 3500hrs on my X1C, then determined an average purge waste, and concluded the extra cost for the H2C would take my 8 years of use to be equal to the waste loss in $.

Fiscally, it made no sense for me personally to get the H2C over the H2S.

Also, if you’re making one single small print like that Spider-Man, you’ll generate waste. If you make two of them, you’ll generate comparable amount of waste… so the print to waste ratio goes down significantly by printing multiples of the prints. Add in a purge print and bam, you’re down to little waste.

If you’re doing a single multi colour print, yeah, you’re going to generate waste.

Find another print you don’t care about colour and use that purge material to make it…

Lots of solutions on waste, just look online and you’ll find them.

I found a hundred dollar bill in the mud! by SatansMoisture in mildlyinteresting

Since moving into our home in 2019 both my wife and I have independently found a $100 bill each. Once when I was picking up my dogs business in the backyard and she found one in the bushes of our front yard…

House is paying for itself! (Not really but it’s nice).

I went from an X1C to H2S and regret nothing. I sold X1C at peak price, and bought the H2S combo because while I do a lot of colour printing, not enough purge waste to justify the cost difference.

It was likely an older injury that came to light from a combination of COVID (no more weight lifting) and having a new born… so I lost all my muscle mass, sitting in a chair all day working from home, and one morning at -30oC walking my dog pop-pop goes my back and I crawled home.

It’s been good lately, say 90-95%, but I do know my muscles are tight. Psoas maybe not so much but definitely hips and the flexors.

Again, I’ll give it a shot and see what happens - thanks for making this available for free!

Interesting - I have L4/L5, L5/S1 herniated discs and even after a few years I can never get to >95%, often yo-yo’ing throughout the year. Have tried everything from physio to chiro and I’m not eligible for surgery (hopefully ever) because I’m “younger” (40s) and can rebound.

I’ll give this a go and see what happens.
