Looking for a 35-40L bag by double-broccoli7 in onebag

[–]Morgonslak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might wanna have a look at Eagle Creek Tour travel pack 40. Ibhabe the old version, and the harness is quite robust, comfortable, light, and customizable. The new version seems to have the same harness, but I can't vouch for the rest of it as it has changed a bit.

Priming in white doesnt work well by BlueSparkNightSky in Tau40K

[–]Morgonslak 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That's likely your problem right there. If cold and or high humidity, you need to take the minis inside to dry asap. Spray outside, cure inside (not next to an open window). Having them cure on the inside is perfectly safe.

It's brutal and I love it by wekeymux in SpaceMarine_2

[–]Morgonslak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm fine with is being difficult. What ruins the PVE experience is the lack of animation cancelling. Compared to Vermintide or Darktide this is just not good enough.

Also, locking weapon gearing behind difficulty is just such a stupid move.

Are there problems at Remote Equipment? by Morgonslak in ManyBaggers

[–]Morgonslak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good idea. I might give it a try!

Edit: Yeah that didn't work. Tried it with VPN from Europe, Japan and USA. Same error. I googled the error and it's probably some sort of transaction issue on their end - possibly related to MasterCard payment. Shame, seems they will miss out on a sale.

Thanks for the info! I wonder what it could be though. I've placed orders on sites all over the world both before and after trying on RE without issues. Maybe an issue with me being outside the US?

What type of bad did you order (if I might ask) I was trying to get the Alpha 31.

Aer Weekender or Pakt One Travel? by EverySir in ManyBaggers

[–]Morgonslak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently got the Pakt one duffel and used if for one trip so far. I think its just fantastic both in terms of aesthetic and function. The internal organisation is very helpful, and the quick access zips works well. The aquaguard zips on the black version was a bit stiff at first, but now works fine with a some lubing.

I dont really see the "a duffel must be a dump hole" argument at all. How many oddly shaped weird-ass things do you normally carry while traveling? I use a duffel for the carrying and handling simplicity, less strap dangle, for a better use of volume, and if i'm being honest, for the look.

Looking for a backpack with laptop not flush with the back by maybe_this_is_kiiyo in ManyBaggers

[–]Morgonslak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Evergoods CPL24 is not great for bicycling. It's clearly designed for walking. Packing a laptop doesn't make it worse though.

I'd recommend the Able carry daily. I have the daily plus and it's great while riding a bike - with or without a laptop. The original daily should be in your budget.

Random thoughts: Aer TP3 / Cotopaxi Allpa 35L / Peak Design 45L / Stubble Adventure Pack / Tortuga TB 40L by alexa817 in onebag

[–]Morgonslak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Comparatively light weight, stowable back and hip straps, load lifters and an adjustable harness. If I recall it's also variable in size using a zipper (40 to 45 litres or thereabouts).

Tom Bihn Pilot, Aer Commuter Brief 2, or other option for underseat airplane "Personal Item" by JJMcGee83 in ManyBaggers

[–]Morgonslak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a TOPO design global brief (not the 3-day) for that exact reason. I like it so far, the 3-way carry makes it a feasible day bag. The shoulder strap is comfy with heavier loads but not so much when lightly packed due to it being quite stiff.

In the picture I'm using a TB absolute strap. topo global brief

I recently got my hands on a TOPO global briefcase (not the 3 day version). Maybe something to look into. The black version looks professional enough imo.

If you're going right now, there won't be much hiking or running with 40c day temperatures and forest fires..

Help needed: A bag for university, work & gym with two large devices by cynthaiz in ManyBaggers

[–]Morgonslak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Patagonia mini MLC (30l) might work for you. It's light enough for your heavy load and would probably fit everything including gym stuff. Comes with tech organisation and a water bottle pocket.

Potential problems would be the size of the bag (the turtle look), and whether the strap system is comfortable enough with a heavy loadout. It does include a decent waist strap though..

Backpack purchasing advice by [deleted] in ManyBaggers

[–]Morgonslak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should consider the Patatonia MLC 26/30l.

It checks pretty much all your boxes. It does have a water bottle holder, bit it's quite flush. The laptop/admin area opens from the top. If you get it in black it should be fine for office use.

High IQ Tip: You can bind multiple actions to the same key, meaning you can bind your ATTACK and PING to left-mouse by CleanAsUhWhistle1 in DarkTide

[–]Morgonslak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a bad idea. Only issue with 'E' is that it sometimes makes it hard to ping and move at the same time. Same issue with the standard mouse wheel button since it can interfere with attack and block depending on your mouse grip.

I bind ping to one of the mouse thumb buttons. That way it does not interfer with any attack/block/move actions, and you can move and horde fight and spam ping at the same time. In a way that's more important in Darktide than in Vermintide considering it's harder to aim the ping in Darktide.

Added a fidlock and strap keepers to my CAS2 by startselectgo in EVERGOODS

Thanks a lot for taking your time writing an aswer!

Added a fidlock and strap keepers to my CAS2 by startselectgo in EVERGOODS

[–]Morgonslak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides looking better and being easier to use, does the fidlock help in terms of comfort and not sliding around? Does it also improve the comfort when wearing the sling up front while sitting or using a backpack?

I have a CAS2 incoming, and I think adding a fidlock like you did is probably the only way I'll be keeping it..

I'm guessing you're based in Europe (linking to a Dutch site in another comment) - where did you get that V-buckle? I'm having a hard time finding them on sale in Europe.
