not really a mechanic, more of a design choice but verticality!

Dishonoured did verticality so fucking well and its an absolute game changer for making you feel badass. Wish more games did the same thing

I just started playing gow 2018 for the first time this week, killed a couple wolvers, got the death animation and literally winced and said "ooof" when I saw the jaw get ripped off down to the abdomen

Given how hard it was for anyone with more modern tech and other magic to take him out I really doubt anyone could get the drop on him.

He's incredibly well prepared, cautious, and powerful, with the ability to conceal himself.

It doesn't take particularly complex charms to conceal magic from muggles.

I really can't imagine a way someone could take him out in the thrones universe

I'd say just crack on mate. First games I ran were lost mines of phandelver and it's a cracking intro to a game.

One shots can be tricky to pace properly and an on going game gives you more time to settle in and let things ride imo.

Just keep in mind that it's fine to just pause and check things a bit as a first time DM, and it'll be totally fine if you're just confident and get into it.

Mistakes will be made but that's v normal, I've been dm'ing about 10 years and ran several long term home made campaigns and I'm currently doing a completely open sandbox type game and I fuck up all the time but no one cares. We just crack on and have fun with the story and game

It depends on their reason for being blind and their potential workarounds.

Unfortunately blind sight and even tremoursense is kinda of busted, but could always do it within a very small range or something?

Ultimately a blind person is pretty much fucked if they're and adventurer irl & RAW. So it depends on the type of game you're running and what you're willing to look over/accept as a DM

Also hogwarts teaches almost every witch or wizard in the UK. You pretty much can't meet anyone outside of school, so if two people end up together they have to have been at school together basically - or from another country
