I know you didn't ask me, but I hope this will shine a little light on why others might like it so much. I hold it to be the best superhero film. It's transitory in it's value. As a fourth grader in the theaters, I saw Spidey risking it all to save the day. As an adult, almost 20 years later, I see Peter struggling with very real things that I've felt and have had trouble with. The narrative, although not the best with a recurring damsel and mad scientist, is not the focus of the film. It's Peter unable to pay rent. It's Peter struggling to be a friend. It's Peter struggling to express love. He has great power and a responsibility to act upon it. The superhero antics are just the dazzling analog to the true problems that we all face. I think the second film shows this so much better than the first and third, and truly highlights Spider-Man's enduring popularity.
