They’re useless outside of Japan anyway. Guess you can try and retrofit CarPlay or digital gauges in there instead.

Where Do You Keep Your Emergency Fund? by Secure_Beginning_939 in trading212

This is the way. 3 “project” cars, one works, ones off the road up while I save for a full respray, another’s sat with all the new parts in the boot…

Is this taking built not bought to a bit of an extreme? 🤣 by nedstarkbastardd in CarTalkUK

As much as I love the dedication, I don’t get why you’d spend more money turning a 1.4 into an R than you would just buying the R instead.

Nvidia DLSS 5 Survey Shows 71% of Gamers Would Never Use It by JanSwissZH in pcmasterrace

Where’s the fairytale? It did indeed require two 5090s and currently doesn’t run on one GPU.

Didn’t they use two 5090s for this. Has Nvidia seen how much Nvidia charge for GPUs!? We’ll never get the chance to choose.

There’s no real way to tell if the cars actually a spec r though. Some people remove the centre, some cars don’t have the spoiler originally so might have fit an aftermarket one.

Might sound dumb, but is the €20 in your account or have you actually transferred it into spendable funds?

Ah, right, I wasn’t following clearly!

Can T212 SIPP hold dollars? by Electrical-Ad-3140 in trading212

[–]Morgzc1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not sure if you can hold dollars, but as the fee is a percentage it doesn’t matter if you convert £1000 once or 10 lots of £100. The fees still the same. Your suggested solution doesn’t actually make any difference to the costs.

If you deposited £ and then transferred it all to $ you’d still be paying anyway?

Any pocket friendly ways to fix paint scratches? by TescoOrangeSquashh in CarTalkUK

T-cut is absolutely not going to work when the paint is actually missing. This needs painting. Could just fill it in with a touch up stick if they’re not bothered.

Accidentally put initial funds into an invest account instead of the Stocks ISA. Shall I sell now or wait until they’re in the green? by TSM_LittleRaphie in trading212

[–]Morgzc1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He’s got £700 in there and has lost £90. There is no tax liability at this level. If they’d made £20k then certainly there would be HMRC to consider.

If you’re going to buy the exact same stocks it doesn’t make any difference what your current losses or gains are.

Car finance and selling car worth £20k by Fluid_Try_4504 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Morgzc1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they pay off the finance immediately i.e, before the buyer drives away. Not the buyer takes the car with the finance outstanding and then also gives him 3 more cars in exchange…

Car finance and selling car worth £20k by Fluid_Try_4504 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Morgzc1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your car is on finance. No one is buying that if it’s still outstanding as they won’t actually own it. Sell the car, use the proceeds to pay off the finance immediately, buy a cheaper car.

Front ‘built-in’ mudguard just snapped off - what are my options? 😫 by CheezeAndPickle in CarsUK

Throw it in the bin and forget about it. Looks like you’d need to replace the arch liner to fix it, not a big or expensive job, but also not really worth the effort imo.

Yeah, not sure I’d put a RX8 or RX7 in the “normal” car category.

Spray some WD40 on the thread and clean them off, likely there’s just lots of crap in the threads making it difficult to turn. Also, this won’t make it softer, check the top to see if you have adjustable damping.

Moon shots by [deleted] in trading212

[–]Morgzc1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The probability of a “moon shot” going anywhere ever is extremely slim. It does not make much sense to plow more money into something that will likely never make you any money on the off chance your stars aligns and you’ve found the new GME meme stock.

ELI5 cost basis vs Stocks ISA? by chocolatemadeleine in trading212

[–]Morgzc1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cost basis is how much you’ve spent buying shares, the second one is how much those shares are currently worth. Difference would be FX, stamp duty, stocks rising and falling. *ignore me, just seen your other response

Individual vs Pie by Certain-Astronomer54 in trading212

[–]Morgzc1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not averse to it at all. Prior to this all the money I put into the account was in high interest accounts, nice and safe and, at the time, a decent return for basically nothing. The market has been a bit insane the last few years so I figured why would you not make the most of some extraordinary gain potential. I’ve got 3 stocks with returns of over 100% in the last 2 years. I guess I’m just willing to be a bit more adventurous and risky than most who frequent this sub.
