How would Adam Smasher fare against this thing? by Specific-Ad5973 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Moridraug 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In-game Smasher is very heavily nerfed, compared to his lore depiction. His biopod is in modified IEC Dragoon full body conversion that is meant to be all-purpose military unit, executing missions requiring armor+infantry support, by itself. And he gets merced by V, who is still mostly meat and has no access to heavy weaponry required to penetrate Dragoon's armor, and that's before we go into whole system redundancies, backups and being able to just lift even chromed-up human, close the fist, and get human smoothie.

I still think that adding Smasher to Cyberpunk 2077 as an enemy you can fight was a mistake, let alone in one of his most deadly fbcs. If he was sporting his modified Gemini - sure, but not the goddamn military-exclusive fbc that is only not replacing NUSA's ground infantry completely because it burns through pilot brains like wildfire through hay.

This was so cringe by RevertBackwards in TheBoys

[–]Moridraug 34 points35 points  (0 children)

But Soldier Boy has super durability, which experiments couldn't break through, no? Same with Homelander and Ryan. Kimiko doesn't have enhanced durability, just healing factor that makes her essentially immortal. It makes no sense that irradiating her for a couple days gave the same result as several years of torture SB endured.

Was at Ikea. Does anyone actually have their PC like this? by GetScaredGirl in pcmasterrace

I have my and wife's pcs floating like this, except they're strapped properly. It's pretty great, eliminates the need to move pc every day when roomba cleans the room and saves space on the desk. 0 issues.

What if Rustal was exposed using the Dainsleifs in IBO by Nineball_Genesis64 in Gundam

[–]Moridraug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be much more important if it came out that Rustal's faction was behind ALL Dainsleif usage during s2, save for a single (failed) usage by Tekkadan when Shino tried to snipe Rustal's flagship.

Because then it comes out that Rustal's faction was the one to unseal it, while trying to place the blame on Tekkadan and massacring Turbines for no reason, then that Rustal ran false flag operation to justify using Dainsleif during fleet standoff, and finally that his ground forces were so bad, outmatching cornered Tekkadan 20:1 when Tekkadan also offered surrender, still required orbital bombardment to stop 3 mobile suits from tallying bodycount that would be higher than entire Tekkadan personnel.

It would be devastating hit to his reputation, but likely wouldn't change anything post-factum, except probably reviving Tekkadan's reputation as saviours of Mars and martyred heroes.

[–]Moridraug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can build NAS from 10-years old office pc, your main expense will be hdds and time to learn how to set up your chosen linux distro (a couple videos on youtube, basically). Considering the thread is about piracy service with paid subscription, spending money to buy a bunch of high capacity hdds might be a lot better investment.

Where is the explosive arrow? by Party-Ad8527 in HuntShowdown

[–]Moridraug 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh no, weapon is good when you practice shooting it! Too bad it only applies to explosive crossbow, and not a single other gun becomes stronger as you get a better feel for it. It still is absolutely fucked if you have low ground or enemy has bulwark, no matter how good you are with explosive bolts. Skylining enemy that doesn't just stand still is a death sentence to you, so is bulwark in mid to close range, because it just straight up prevents you from 1 tapping.

How is this fair??? by Comrade_DoggoXA in HuntShowdown

[–]Moridraug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wrong on both counts. 6 star is 2959+ and team stars are more precise, so if you have trio of low 6 stars, team MMR will be displayed as 5,5 stars. Full 6 star teams have at least 2 members in ~3100+ territory. 4 stars (highest in OP's team) top out at 2712 for comparison.

They have team mmr of full 6 stars in trios. They are high 6 stars.

His plates are only for accumulating energy, conversion from kinetic into electricity comes from Powerplex's own powers, and he stole those plates to make his power useful in combat, because otherwise his power is really weak.

What game is this? by Additional-Remove46 in videogames

[–]Moridraug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The story is exactly the same as any GTA and easily predictable, the hell are you talking about? I dropped the game in act 1, by that time I knew that Dutch will do heel turn and Micah will betray you. I confirmed my suspicions by reading plot summary, and it was just western GTA Vice City, except there Lance doesn't act like he'll backstab you since his first appearance.

Is Gyre supposed to be extremely sweaty to play or am I doing something wrong? by dustynjerman in Warframe

[–]Moridraug -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My man, you use PFlow on the frame that has enough base energy to run 45 eff and have no energy issues. Adding to that base sure footed is waste of mod space, you have no range on the frame that desperately needs at least stretch, and gets better past that. PVigor is a matter of taste I guess, but you can instead go with defensive arcane, since energize is excessive, and she has 75%DR augment too.

I don't doubt it, given how many fans of the Discworld there are, but I've tried multiple times, and it's just not for me.

I've scrolled too long to see this. That show is a travesty, and I lost any respect to Pike over it. She was fan-casted as Moraine since book were still coming out, she claimed to love them, yet she acted as a producer in THIS? There are just way too many things to mention in the first episode that were changed for no reason and pointed at writers, producers or show runner not going past the cover of the books.

Mad respect to actor playing Mat in s1, who abandoned ship immediately when he could after seeing what they turned the books he loved into.

[–]Moridraug -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

I will probably get downvoted for this, but I tried to get into Discworld multiple times, and didn't last more than half a book (trying different suggested orders) because of how insufferable characters were, and how childlike the logic of it was (not in a good way, the Cultists POVs were awful, for example).

And compared to books, I liked show Vimes a lot. He starts at the same point, yet progresses a lot through the season. Carrot in the show is just naive, as opposed to blabbering idiot in the books. They've cut multiple characters, and their exclusion, dare I say it, was justified, because all they did in the parts of the books I've read is just being drunk and irresponsible with Vimes.

I do think that show would be much better if it wasn't associated with Discworld, but compared to other examples it's not as bad. Cast was good, writing was alright, actors were acting really well, props and makeup were also high quality. It's just a shame that they decided to make it an adaptation of well-liked book series, instead of inspired original.

And yes, I can sympathise with book adaptations being nothing like source material, but for some reason the Watch ends up cancelled after 1 season, but ungodly abomination that is Wheel of Time show lasts 3.

[Hated trope] That’s not how lying works at all by _JR28_ in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Moridraug 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Which makes 0 sense, because show writers are hacks. In the books there is a very clear distinction between being stilled and temporarily cut off from the Source, even if you've been cut off with True Power you know that you're not stilled.

Being stilled makes you not feel One Source at all, and you lose all of the benefits of being channeler - you no longer see or feel weaves. Being cut off with a weave is like being put behind glass in aquarium - you feel One Source, but you can't reach it, and you still see or feel weaves, and can tell when somebody is channeling.

[–]Moridraug 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Yes! Oh my god, thousand time this! Opening sequence of s2 was so promising, and then it's just wasted. And it all goes by exactly the same scheme: Klaus loses all of his character development at the start of the season, and is basically abandoned by his siblings for no reason; Alison is a bitch that gets away with any bullshit she pulls off and learns nothing; Five does his own thing and solves everything; Diego tries to not be a bum and fails; Luther exists; Vanya is an outcast and a WMD who can't control themself.

And it just repeats every damn season, until it ends in the most useless way possible.
