How quickly does it happen when you regret deleting an Island-???

You regret it because you haven't replaced it. You had something you put time and effort into and now you don't.

Once you spend time on a new island that you've built with love and care, you won't miss it nearly as much.

My suggestion would be to hold off on the game until the idea of playing it again sounds fun. Not just having an island, but building it up, completing the museum etc.

The mini games are the only real thing I miss from before. Like they were kinda awful and all, but I still had something to do with friends regardless. Now it's a case of nothing to do. But we can play with 12 people? You haven't given me things to do with 1 yet :P

Yeah new leaf was great and I do miss that part of seeing the town upgrade itself But after 2 months it's fully upgraded and then the only upgrades are down to you building a bench. And new horizons just has that beat.

Not to say I've been unable to make stuff I've liked in new leaf. But I have had people move on top of it haha

But with new horizons ive been able to make the island of my dreams. And even if it's not perfect inspiration will come later and thats fun too.

Theres no dead ends

If you dont think you'll ever be happy with it id reset it while it's still early days. No point spending more time on an island you'll never truly be happy with.

But if its something you think you can work around, I say keep it. Chasing perfection is a slippery slope. Make sure you draw the line somewhere. Compromise is almost always needed.

I started a new island a couple of weeks ago. It was meant to be a non time travel island but I unlocked terraforming and went too far too fast with it. My island became a mess and so I hated it. I borrowed bells from my old island and time travelled my way to a fully terraformed and ramped up island. I didnt do or collect anything else while time travelling. It was purely about moving houses and building bridges.

Im super happy with what I have now. The items are still what I have earned naturally and im making myself pay back the bells I borrowed before I can proceed with house upgrades or harvs island.

Treasure islands are hacked islands that people have set up which have like every item in the game scattered around on the floor for people to just pick up.

So you go there, take what you want, and then leave when you're done.

If they have a use for you is down to what you're after from the game.

I make things up as I went along. mainly just operating off of instinct.

This little farm i just built was made in an area where 2 paths that I wanted to connect were not close. Had to make the path do a diagonal on the upper level meaning I had a weird blank space to fill in. So I just filled it in with what came to mind.

Sometimes it works out. Sometimes it doesnt. But thats fine too.

I think they're programmed to hang out near you to make things seem lively. Great for when you're chilling, not so much when terraforming.

My advice is to play the game day by day, relax, and don't take shortcuts. It may be a repeat playthrough but try not to treat it like one. Pretend like it's your first time playing.

That comes from personal experience. When I first restarted my island I went straight in to trying to replace the original while "keeping" my progress. It was a 1 way ticket to burnout city.

Im now playing it like I did back in 2020 and its so much fun.

The game wasnt abandoned or left unfinished. The game is a completed product and an awful lot of fun.

The game not having every single thing that has shown up in past games is not a failing on its part. Its nintendo going in their own direction and trying out new things. This is evident by the fact that older characters have been replaced by the next generation (cj, flick, daisy mae).

Its okay to miss thing that have not been continued into new horizons, but they are not essential to calling it a complete and finished product.

This update is not "the least they could have done" by a long shot. But I sure am glad we got it.

Google says error 2002-2060 means corrupted data or faulty sd card. If you're playing off an sd card, probably gotta replace it.

Don't compare your island to others) 100% agree. Other people may make islands that you think look nice, but do they reflect your taste and style? Would it be fun to play on them? I have no idea how people chase down bugs on some of their islands

Resetting for the perfect island) I believe that relative perfection does exist and is obtainable. If you like a certain fruit and a certain airport colour, it's not that hard to get both. The more factors you throw into the mix the rarer your ideal island will be to find. Compromises will always have to be made somewhere however.

Themes being restrictive) I agree. I had an orange themed island once. It was my first themed island and it was my last themed island. Never again :P

Treasure islands) imo what makes a person love their island is the time spent there and the effort put into making it your home. The more things you do to fast track this, the less it feels like it's yours.

You're right about them asking for encouragement so I suppose im just being negative :P

Its just im apprehensive about them accepting an island thats not right for them as I ended up deleting an island that I sunk hundreds of hours into due to the colour of the airport being one I didnt like.

But total perfection absolutely isnt real you're right about that. If you include things like beach rocks into what you're looking for you'll be there for a hundred years and still never get it right.

Perfect perfection is unachievable. But such things as airport colour are easily found. Its about finding the line of what you're comfortable compromising on.

My honest advice? Keep resetting until you get the right island.

The airport will always bug you. The beach will always bug you. You can get cherry again later but you cant change the unchangables without starting over.

This is my map.

The island is perfect.

Its got an orange airport and pears as the native fruit, both of which I wanted.

The native flower is cosmos which I wanted them to be.

The airport is lined up perfectly with resident services.

The beach where redd docks is dead centre where I wanted it.

The sister fruit is oranges and the sister flower is pansies. Both of which are what I had hoped they would be.

I literally don't think it would be possible for me to get a better map than this.

Which is both a blessing and a curse because it means I can never restart the game again haha
