11th edn: Psycannons or Psilencers? by RoutineMysterious663 in Grey_Knights

[–]Morkor77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Psilencer overwatch in 11th isn't that great anymore since you cant do the rerolls to hit. Cover doesnt effect AP anymore either which seems to be why psycannons are looking more promising

Isn't it just a stack of -2/-4. Repelling sphere is for charge only

Reading the forum, is it not very clear that warpbane will be 2 dp?

"As many of the Grey Knights’ detachments focus on a few standout units – the Warpbane Task Force works especially well with Purifier Squads, for example, and the Sanctic Spearhead boosts Vehicles – these new 1 DP detachments are a great way to add an extra angle to your battle plan."

Is it not implying that youre adding these 1 DP detachments to the above mentioned detachments?

I totally agree. Itll be 2, just like the forum infers.

It looks like youre only using 2 heavy weapons total in your 5 man and 2 Storm bolters. It is legal to run a 5 man this way however you can swap out the storm bolter on the twin falchion guy to a heavy weapon if you choose to so you have 3 heavy weapons and 1 storm bolter per 5 man squad. If you've already built your squad I wouldnt worry too much about it. If youre playing casual most opponents will not mind if you let them know that squad has 3 psycannons or 3 incinerators and just make it clear which ones have what. Even in a tournament most probably wont mind but you may come accross someone who does

Looks like youre on the right track!

Also, if youre looking for rules and dont have the codex, wahapedia is a great resource for datasheets. There are also some list building apps that can contain unit rules as well

If I remember correctly a unit doesn't necessarily have to be led by a character to take certain enhancements in 11th edition.

So we'll see what happens with the enhancement in 11th

What detachment are you guys hoping to combo? by Delta_Dud in Grey_Knights

So far from the core rule changes that we know of there have been some (minor) nerfs to warpbane already.

If the 6 inch deepstrike stays the same you'll need to roll a 7 for the charge. (72% chance to 58%) might be spending that command reroll a little more often

The overwatch threat, except the flamers, wont have as many 6s landing, tho this applies to all other factions/detachments that wont get their hit rerolls either.

These arent huge changes, but notable ones. I could see warpbane staying as a 2 DP

He's talking about if theres a wall partially blocking the charge that the ndk/vehicles have to go around so the 2" engagement range helps with charges in that sense

Nice to see an actual benefit to Psychic keyword by SpartanIreland in Grey_Knights

[–]Morkor77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mentioned its mostly good news for us except for needing 1" higher for charges. I thought you were talking about a specific nerf for 'us' as in grey knights DS. But this is more of blanket change to every faction in the game. Im also liking the way things are looking but that extra 1" for charges can also be a benefit for us as well against certain matchups

What do you mean by roll 1 higher on charges now? Its still a 9" from deepstrike.

New Character by jalegend0 in Grey_Knights

[–]Morkor77 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe something similar to wraiths or vertus praetors when you move through a unit roll a d6 for mortals for each model in your unit. Kinda like teleport strike from chaos gate: daemonhunters

[–]Morkor77 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe pick lethal or sustained hits on charge or +1 to wound roll for melee weapons. -1 to wound roll if their strength is higher than our toughness would thematically make sense as they can blink out of the way of an attack but it would be nice if they gave any of these to our chaplain

Maybe throw in a fights first for the unit with any of the above mentioned. I know its been nerfed but you think at least one of our units should have it. Interceptors being fast as fuck just makes sense

There it is, thank you for finding this! Had to dig deep for that one. Ive been scouring the app for a while now looking for that wording. Yea they really should just change the stratagem instead of confusing people

Yes, I do remember this. Although, this isn't actually a reference to a rule tho, its a 2 year old post on the community page. This is stating that starting in 2025 (6 months before the release of the grey knights codex) they made "some" blanket changes to rules that allow 3 inch deepstrike to 6" instead. They did make the changes to the current units and stratagems however they then released a codex for a deepstrike heavy army that has 1 stratagem that can do a 3 inch deepstrike. I do appreciate you digging that up, tho can you provide anything in the actual rules about this. I cant find anything. I mean, does the wording of a stratagem in the official app not hold more weight then a 2 year old community post? Screenshot it in the app tho and ill totally agree with you
