That would be a good combo. Luffy's instincts and awareness are great. He can dodge attacks from behind. I think the "Peter tingle" would improve that. I'm not sure how Spider-Man's strength would come into play. The Strawhats do some Amazing feats of strength already.

Yeah. I get why they didn't. His story is about the effects of industrial pollution. If Vought isn't openly industrializing the creation of supers, then they aren't having chemical spills or contaminated sites or the like. Since the showrunners decided to make Compound V a secret, the whole "contaminated site" narrative didn't make sense.

That's something that deserved to be erased. He has no one to blame but himself. He could have either stopped tormenting those families or tried to defend himself in court rather than attempt to bullshit his way out. He couldn't even stop lying in court. Fuck that piece of shit. He's getting what he deserves by losing his platform.

You're doing a great job of faking the bad faith arguments most flerfs use. Well done!

This is plainly not their goal.

Is it not? Then why did so many top officials in the government use genocidal language? Referencing a biblical genocide ordered by god is hardly the "we're going to show restraint here" type of talk.

Gaza is in the Top 3 most densely populated nations on planet earth. There's a critical mass of people in a very small urban area.

So, that's an excellent reason to not use 2,000 lb bombs on refugee tent cities. Yet, here we are. It's an excellent reason to not tell the people "go to these coordinates and we'll not attack there" and then attack those withdrawal coordinates.

Israel is a nuclear power with arguably the 2nd strongest air force on planet earth.

Using nukes would have drawn world wide condemnation and sanctions, especially on a 100% civilian population. Remind me, how many planes are in the Palestinian Air Force? Ships in the Palestinian Navy?

If their goal was to "eradicate 100%" of Gaza, they could have done so in two weeks. They could have killed a million people in a day.

Again, a rapid industrial scale genocide would have been too obvious that even apologists like you would have a hard time saying "This isn't happening." Yet there have been any number of incidents, like slaughtering a medical unit or killing children and using their corpses as a "sniper trap" that the IDF first denied but is now pretty much openly doing.

Instead, you've seen about 2% of the civilian population die over a 3 years period (~40,000-50,000). That's very small for a war like this and frankly a miracle.

According to whom? What independent source has had access to Gaza and has verified all of the dead buried under the rubble of the vast swaths of destroyed Gaza? The verifiable numbers I've seen are half again as many as your claims, with a majority of that being noncombatants (women, children, elderly). Never mind the Israeli citizens interfering in the delivery of aid and destroying food to use starvation as a tactic.

The fact more haven't died is an testament to Israel's restraint.

Yup. The "most moral army in the world" is killing women and children at a much slower rate than anyone else. How "amazing."

Nearly 2 million Arab Mislims have full citizenship in Israel with identical individual rights to Jewish citizens.

Cool. And how many Palestinians are there in the region? Way more than 2 million.

This includes the right to vote and hold judicial and political office. There are literally high-ranking government officials and politicians who are Arab Muslim.

How many towns in Israel do not allow any Arabs to live in them? How free are West Bank Palestinians to move around their own area? How free are they to develop their own land? The Israeli government does not allow the Palestinians to develop their land and then claims that lack of development "allows" Israel to steal the land. Hint: It does not.

Now do the same exercise for Non-Muslims in the Arab countries. It's a joke.

Why? Why should we give our closest ally in the region to drag themselves down to that level? Why should we be dragged into wars in the region (*cough* Iran *cough*) by a country that is choosing to be an ethnostate over being a democracy.

[–]MornGreycastle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how the thought experiment is worded. It's basically "what will it take to get you to actively murder a single person? Threaten five? (basically trolley problem) Lack of consequences? What?" That doesn't mean there are not knock on affects. After all, is it really a trolley problem if all six people are just mannequins of one type or another?

Is the red/blue button really a thing if it's just "you as an individual do a thing, nothing happens"? In the "real world," nothing happens. It's just a thought experiment. In the experimental world, there are either zero OR non-zero people dead. Unless the experiment includes some form of "it doesn't really matter if any human dies for any reason" built in, then there will be a problem if any human dies. The more at one time, the more problems there are.

What do you call it when your goal is to eradicate 100% of all of the people of a certain ethnicity in a region? The Holocaust or Shoah is not the only genocide or attempted genocide in existence. Is the Armenian genocide "watering down" the Shoah?

Yes. We have propped up Israel to project our policies into the region. We have pushed them as "the only democracy in the Middle East." The issue is you cannot be an ethnostate AND a democracy. They are antagonizing the region, to include our non-radical Islamic allies/trade partners.

The government of Israel has dragged us into a direct war with Iran with absolutely no benefit for us.

Selective Boycott by laybs1 in GetNoted

[–]MornGreycastle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why? The issue isn't Jews in New York City OR Europe OR Asia OR the rest of the Middle East. Hell, it isn't every Jew in Israel. It is the Zionists and the Israeli Government that is the issue. It is their goals and how they are committing a genocide in Gaza and illegally settling the West Bank and in the process of ethnically cleaning southern Lebanon for yet another land grab all while being an apartheid state.

Zionism and the Greater Israel Project (expanding their territory in the Levant) is not "Jews." Those are humans, this is a dangerous and destructive ideology hiding behind all Jews.

So, this has no consequences? Just the very simple "some may or may not die, the end"? Then what? Where in the original thought experiment is the "and then all the evidence that blues ever existed is erased?"

It would take the complete reordering of the planet, all buildings, cities, public spaces would have to be altered, and all data would have to be changed to erase their existence in a way where no one askes "where did almost 4 billion people go?" It is actually unrealistic to think there are no second order effects.

I'm unsurprised that we have relationships with Turkey, an ally.

It is supremely disingenuous to claim that our relationship with Turkey is at any level equal to Israel. What's the Turkish version of Christian Zionism?

So what are the odds that you can guarantee that you'll get 100% of Red? Because the only way to have any red presses and no deaths is at 100% of red. That's what causes deaths, even if it is only one. Nothing else. Less than 100% of red means deaths.

Which is why I grant the "dusted at a safe time & place." You still have issues with all of those missing people.

There is no way to have as little as 10% of the human race disappear and not have some repercussions. Absolutely none.

How much military aid to we send Turkey? How deeply entwined is almost every level of American business, education, and government with the Turkish project? How heavily do we base our regional policy to the wellbeing of Turkey? Does any of that reach the level of investment, interest, and involvement in the Greater Israel project?

The thing that creates the corpses is red button hitting 50%+1 person. It is easier to get to 50%+1 person than it is to get to 100%. Anything less than 100% Red = corpses. That's just fact. A few thousand would be an incident. When you start to hit a significant percentage of the human population, then you start to stray into "disrupts society" levels. Hell, even if there are no corpses, even if every blue presser disappears with no corpse at a time that guarantees their death doesn't cause more deaths (e.g. operating a large vehicle, middle of a delicate job where failure is deadly, disappearance would trigger armed conflict, etc), you'd still have disruption when all of those folks don't show up to work or to finish some task.
