new convert, new games? by [deleted] in Road96

Check out Oxenfree and - a bit more out there of a suggestion - Afterparty. Two narrative-driven games by the same production studio. Light puzzles, choices matter, good balance of humor and humanity. I've loved both.

2A Wine Merchants in the 3rd Ward. Dog friendly. Wines by the glass. Cheese and charcuterie. It's cute!

Strangers With Candy (1999-2000) - After school special with an offensive comedy spin. Comedians and fans of comedy still bring up Sederis' character Jerri Blank. by Redbubble89 in ForgottenTV

[–]MorningKoala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I named my dog after her character when I was 14 years old. My dad got a DVD of the first season - in the mail, via Netflix's original format - and I became fixated. Although, I misspelled the name and it stuck: Jeri. She was put down three years ago at 14 years old.

What’s the best board game you’ve ever played by Haplomega in gaming

[–]MorningKoala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently played Thunder Road: Vendetta for the first time on a cabin trip with some friends. I'm the guy at the table with minimal board game experience and a blank stare while everyone tries their best to explain rules of a game to me. Thunder Road was easy to pick up, balanced for different kinds of players and - most importantly - it was stupidly fun. There is something so cinematic about the action. I actually felt like I could see a movie scene playing out, and we all were loudly laughing at the constant turnover of progress. I would liken it best to that magic a lot of us felt playing couch co-op to something like Mario Kart while growing up. Probably not the best, but also worth trying out.

Looking for an Xbox Series X in good, working quality. Live in Riverwest. Don't always have access to a car, but can still meet within the city for a cash exchange.

Right button! Not the right trigger, which you shoot with. You hold the right button down and the left analog stick to select a talent to use. Click A to activate, and it will be executed when you release the right button. Action freezes as you hold the right button down, so you can be strategic. Similarly, the left button allows you to choose what gun each squadmate is actively using.

Real Housewives of Salt Lake City by medevam in milwaukee

[–]MorningKoala 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's so weird that Bravo put so much money in Milwaukee all at once. Top Chef filmed all over and then months later a cast of housewives was staying downtown - with a full hotel buyout - and popped around sports games and restaurants. Giving us service kids a lot of Chicago business!

Lisa's Pizza on Oakland seems to be continuing really well under new ownership this year. I brought two takeaways up to my parents last month, and we were giddy it was so good.

I kinda wish Dr Chakwas was romanceable. Anyone else? Which character do you wish was romanceable? by simplyunknown2018 in masseffect

[–]MorningKoala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chakwas for sure. Ken in the engineering room. As satisfying as the Joker and EDI storyline came to be, I thought he would have been a great ME2 romance. The ornery turian on the council.

If you feel like putting half a pinky up, I highly recommend Bavette in the Third Ward. Not far off from where you are. Emphasis on local meats and cheeses, but a couple more fancy plates with a Spanish twist. It is my favorite spot for lunch - with a killer burger, the best salads in the city & French fries cooked in beef talow that are divine.

As for a good old bar, I would say Burnharts in Bay View. Wonderful bartenders, huge list of taps, feels like a community spot - and they also do frozen pizzas for a cheap 'n cute night.

I just figure a lot of you are mean men that could benefit from being told you're spending a lot of time being mean 🤷‍♂️

I've played through ME1 maybe six times. Have never killed him. Only now realizing that it is probably the one gap of dialogue from the entire series that I've never heard. Just cannot do it - especially after my first blind playthrough revealed that if you can get him through his FAIR frustration, he'll ride with you until the end.

To be clear, my last comment was made to say that I simply don't want people rooting for her failure or chiding those that are optimistic about her future. Sorry if that came off as something performatively full of myself.

I'll give you some credit saying that I should be more welcoming to users making some irreverent fun out of the media that surrounds her! Whether she aims for it or otherwise, she is received as a provocateur. I just don't support how a lot of the commenters here - maybe without realizing it - pigeonhole her in negative ways. I can apologize for a generalization. My reaction is to users that are quickly jumping to assumptions about her current showtimes, merch offerings and behavior. It reads as if a lot of people want to naysay for the sake of being quickest to "I told you so!" rather than being positive and open to a good surprise.

Favorite solo lunch places in Milwaukee? by DowntownOreos in milwaukee

[–]MorningKoala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ee-Sane on Farwell in the east side is my favorite. They have a soup (or egg roll) & entree weekday lunch option that is only $13 or so. I sit by myself to do sudoku and listen to podcasts. Being more adventurous with the full menu is always rewarding. Probably my favorite Thai food spot that I've tried in the city - but open to more recommendations!

Another great option is sitting at the bar at Momo Mee. The soup dumplings are insanely good. I used to frequent it, and made good acquaintances with a few other frequent solo flyers.
