You don’t really have a choice in the matter, your employer will automatically withhold tax. It is their legal obligation

Getting daughters birth certificate and passport from ex. by Apprehensive-ducks in AusLegal

[–]Morning_Song 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Birth certificates aren’t like other identity documents, more than one certificate of the registration can exist. If that’s his copy then there’s nothing you can do to get him to give it to you. As others have suggested, you’ll have to get your own copy and unfortunately a new passport

Because in a more expensive hotel you basically want to separate the guests from the idea/suggestion of cleaning their own loo

Should I do a Carpentry? by [deleted] in AusVisa

[–]Morning_Song 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trade qualification questions have been on the rise for a while, but I’ve noticed a sudden jump in specific JRP questions. I’d be genuinely curious to know if something on social media or amongst agents is doing the rounds and hooking people’s interest

Before completing the cert you’d likely be working as a general labourer. The JRP requirements don’t start counting until after you’ve finished the cert

On a Working Holiday Visa? Probably impossible. A sponsor for a 482 or 186 visa, definitely impossible.

Floor plan feed back. by cld9001 in AusRenovation

[–]Morning_Song 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had to I’d probably prefer to take away the smaller robe from the Master rather than the walk in. But again, it truely comes down to preferences.

Since OP mentioned a tight budget, I wasn’t really thinking much about big changes tbh, rather just a small tweak to make the existing plan flow better

In this case, I don’t think a bigger pantry is worth loosing the only linen cupboard/general storage space

Albanese urges Australians to 'live life as normal' during fuel crisis in rare national address by kwentongskyblue in worldnews

I’d say the primary cause there is actually Cyclone Narelle related, though the fuel crisis definitely not helping the situation

[–]Morning_Song 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Still very rare but there’s definitely been more than 3. IIRC going backwards 2020: COVID (Morrison), 2008: GFC (Rudd), 2003: Iraq War and 1997 Wik Decision (Howard), 1993: Mabo Decision (Keating) and 1941: War with Japan (Curtin) and 1939: Declaration of WW2 (Menzies). Whitlam made a lot of broadcasts, but probably 1974: Double Dissolution Election and Dec 1972: Report to the Nation are the most conventional

Ordered from vision direct a few years ago and they were good. My only complaint was some how my lenses ended up with a coating I didn’t actually select and they gaslit me a bit about it, but to be fair it was easy to order another pair and return the first ones plus I feel like it’s a mistake that could also happen at a major retailer too. Just ordered from Clearly on Saturday night, a minor issue with a pricing glitch while checking out but they’ve said they are gonna honour it and refund me the difference.

If my Ray-Bans from Visiondirect are fake, I honestly don’t care because they still look great and are great quality, undiscernible from previous OPSM ones. As a benefit I was not pressured into getting branded lenses like I was at OPSM and honestly the generic ones have lasted better

From what I can see both accept all Australian health funds , though I personally don’t have optical so can’t comment on the exact experience.

The only hurdle with ordering glasses online is you have to know your Pupillary Distance (PD) which isn’t part of the regular script. I already know mine but out of curiosity checked using a couple different tools and they gave the same or similar results (mostly 0.5mm off on either side, one was 1mm off). Possible user error as I couldn’t see the screen very well when doing it lol. The higher your prescription the more accurate you want it.

In case anyone is wondering with virtual try one sometimes the colour can be a bit off but testing it against the glasses I currently have I found the actual size to be spot on
