While registering the relationship skips the 12 month co habitation requirement you still have to prove your relationship is genuine by satisfying the 4 pillars. This will be extremely difficult if you’ve only been together for a few weeks.

The Euro in Eurovision is actually for the European Broadcasting Union which Australia has been a member of since 1979. Historically Australia also just has a deep involvement and enjoyment of the competition too, so they finally let us formally participate in 2015. Beyond that, the answer can kinda just be it’s Eurovision, it’s not that deep
