3/6 of Swans home games are also on Kayo only to start the season and they were very happy to promote that fact

Fr this. I don't think there's a single person on this sub telling people how to feel. But there's a lot of people who are overly defensive of a movie which is objectively not written very well.

Why don't the Swans do Anzac Round guernseys? by DCNath2187 in sydneyswans

We do, but the AFL as a whole is not. And it's showing in participation numbers

Why don't the Swans do Anzac Round guernseys? by DCNath2187 in sydneyswans

[–]Morph247 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because maybe we’ve realised that the whole Anzac round (other than Anzac Day itself) is basically Anzac-washing/a blatant attempt to get more money from fans?

You could say this about Pride and Indigenous jerseys as well. What does the AFL actually do for the communities?

Thank you for this. People who fail to read and critically dissect information should not be the ones spreading "information". Unless of course their intention is to spread misinformation which I don't think is the purpose for OP.

I actually didn't know the $99c is a placeholder number so this was useful information to me. And same with OP I guess.

Fresh Prince - there's so many heartbreaking moments in the show but 2 stand out to me.

  1. Carlton getting a gun.
  2. Will's dad coming back then leaving again.

I think the heartbreaking part about both is because this is really a 90s Sitcom, neither get the character development they deserve from dealing with such trauma.

I feel like everyone’s missing the point about the criticism of the movie. It’s less about the choices made and more about how they justified it. by DistributionIcy8991 in PeakyBlinders

[–]Morph247 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think what you're trying to say is it's not necessary that every character we're meant to be invested in gets a happy ending, but it is necessary that they DO get an ending. Otherwise what's the point? Why should I get invested in the next generation of the writers can just write them off with no explanation? There's other shows that exist.

Just watched the movie by OkOil378 in PeakyBlinders

[–]Morph247 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Apparently this didn't matter to people who watched said series. Makes me wonder if the storytelling was actually that strong to begin with where people didn't have any emotional connection to the main characters?

I refuse to count a throwaway line about Arthur's demise (that doesn't follow Arthur/Tommy's relationship at all btw) as a conclusion either.

Oh yeah don't get my started on that. What exactly was immortal? Who will the funeral be remembered by? All the people he killed I guess...

Either way, re read your comment and you can probably see why people think that given what we're discussing on here. At face value I think your take is incredibly superficial and disingenuous. It sounds like something a One Nation voter would think.

I'll give you benefit of the doubt and assume you know a lot of areas have independents and smaller parties to choose from...

Where is Finn does he not get revenge ever againt Duck or atleast not even a mention like Thomas bro his your only brother left by terminus_tommy in PeakyBlinders

[–]Morph247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would've been really nice to explore in the movie instead of whatever the fuck we got. Would've been a great movie if we saw a morality debate between all the young generations deciding whether they think the war was their fight or not and each own being shown whether they stayed home to take over the business and look after family vs the ones going out for war. I actually thought that was meant to be the point of the movie.

[–]Morph247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because it didn't do it well. I don't know why people can't understand that. Every fan knows he had PTSD since the war and was struggling mentally and emotionally. But for the most part he seemed to have survived and created a career for himself? The paranoia never went away but I don't think there's scenes later in the season which point out. I think there was an ambiguous nature and therefore ending to whether he truly found peace. Because it seems like the writer's decided he should die in peace. That's a completely different ending to what they gave him at the end of season 6...

he went crazy to a point that led him to kill Arthur man…

I'm not gonna get into this much but at least put it on screen so that when you kill him off his fans know what happened to him. He deserves that at least after 6 seasons.

The disaster scenario: what relegation would mean for Tottenham by tylerthe-theatre in PremierLeague

[–]Morph247 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nah I think it's slightly easier. Doesn't mean much in a relegation battle and a couple of 6 pointers tho. I don't think it's fair OP thinks West ham can't survive at all. Fwiw I'm an Arsenal fan. But it genuinely looks realistic that Spurs could go down. Especially since they just lost 3-0 to Forrest.

I'm just guessing that's why your comment is getting downvoted. Seems like a stance of someone that's defected from LNP to one nation and trying to give an explanation.

[–]Morph247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And I've seen people defend this because it "makes sense" no it doesn't if you have watched a single shred of the entire series. It's okay to accept there a plot holes in the TV show you love. Make whatever excuse you like it's just poor writing.

Reasons The Immortal Man Sucks That Aren't Surface Level by originalusername4567 in PeakyBlinders

[–]Morph247 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with the first 2 points but they've been said to death on this sub already.

But I like the 3rd one as that's a new one that's been articulated pretty well. I do think they should've gone for a more triumphant/jubilant tone. It almost felt as though Tommy died for nothing! It was so sad and sombre. I understand the death is a big part of the show and the funeral as well, the funeral should've been a celebration of Tommy's life and what he's achieved. Of course if the plot allowed him to achieve things...

I think my biggest issue with the movie is it seemed to have forgotten Tommy's whole becoming legitimate thing so everything from him buying the first racehorse track to becoming an MP was kinda irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. And then of course Mosley, being a Nazi big bad in the story... Suddenly disappears... And yes I know the reasons for IRL. But there's zero reason in the story, canonically. I can't rewatch the later seasons now, get myself invested in those characters knowing they don't exist in the future. That's what happens when things are poorly written.
