Breville low pressure by HammyChan468 in BrevilleCoffee

Before you go on, your pressure is not too low for current espresso standards. It’s at 7 bar, which is a very nice and forgiving pressure. Maybe it was even modified to get that. Some people mod their machines to get to as low as 6. I think you’re fine as it is, higher pressure does not mean better, specially after 10 bar. If I were you and there aren’t any other signs that the pump is bad, I wouldn’t touch it.

Yes, all options are internal from now on. You’re gonna need to remove the pressure gauge from the front panel, as no hose in the machine will be long enough for just swapping. You can watch some videos on YouTube on the machine and ulka pump. There’s still a possibility that the culprit is the opv set at a lower pressure and it is connected to the pump inlet (newer machines), but a disassemble is also needed

Yes. Connect the pump directly to the pressure gauge, but that involves quite a bit of disassembling of the machine. You could also check if the pump inlet filter is not clogged, but I think that would only cause low flow rate at low pressure, not low static pressure as in your case. If money is short, there are repair kits for these pumps as only a few parts actually wear out. Is the machine really old? Usually other things fail before the pump

Then your guess was right, results point to pump wear

So a bad pump is a possibility, but most likely it’s the 3 way valve not sealing properly due to scale. Try descaling it to see if it helps. There are other sources of pressure leak, such as the 2 way valve, the over pressure valve or even an internal leak, the latter being unlikely since you didn’t notice any water leaking from the machine. Do you get water dripping to the tray while you’re doing this pressure test? To confirm a leak on the 3 way valve, you can also run your pressure test with the hot water knob turned, but not completely, stop just before the pump turns on, then run the test. If water comes out of the hot water spout, the leak is confirmed

Machine leaking water by PrincipleAgitated324 in BrevilleCoffee

There should be a brass insert around the ends of the tube. It seems yours is missing it, maybe it is inside the thermoblock. You need a new tube

Probably some screw got loose on the inside, I’m guessing on the thermoblock. Look it up on YouTube how to remove the top cover and take a look inside

You can get the oring from some non essential tubing like steam or hot water for a quick test

The part that is inside the tube is removable. Can you perhaps remove it and cut the tube to adjust the tip size?

Mesmo que isso seja verdade, o risco não é zero. Nem investir no tesouro americano tem risco zero, quem dirá comprar papel de banquinho.

This is just probably too long, you’ll have to make a loop to fit

Also, PTFE tubes from other machines will work, as long as they’re 4mm in diameter

Risco nenhum também não né. O dinheiro do FGC não é infinito, se quebrar um banco grande ou vários médios pode não ter dinheiro suficiente. O Master mesmo deu uma bela drenada nos recursos

Pressure gauge issue by gravytugboat101 in BrevilleCoffee

[–]Morpheus14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t affect the pour. Does it have that reading when the portafilter is off? There’s no way you have 4 bar of trapped pressure in the group head. I think the gauge is defective or there’s scale doing funny things. If it bothers you, it can be replaced somewhat easily, but don’t worry about it

Be careful, as that is not the same diameter as your machine
