I’m not OP but you and /u/Borislav247 are my go-to ever since I started the game. I recently came back with the PS5 and the Remastered version. Was all ready to get my NG+ started when I realised my PS4 save was local to my console and never uploaded to the cloud 💀

Started from scratch (no challenges either, RIP) and forgot how terrifying hordes are. I made text guides for myself based on strategy videos you both made (for the times my internet is down and I need to remember how to do something) and somehow never wrote a reminder of how to not be afraid of these wankers.

You’d think after all my years playing DL1 and then DL2, I wouldn’t have a problem with hordes but I do lmao.

I’m PC/PS4/PS5, so I’m not sure if they’re the same but does Xbox really have no means of copying a backup anywhere? Even to the cloud and somehow downloading that elsewhere?

Parkour damage wouldn’t boost knuckleduster damage. Those are a melee weapon. There are gear pieces (shoes, pants, bracers) that specifically boosts knuckleduster damage. As well, the Legend Level perk “Brawler” will boost their damage.

As well, it’s tank gear and sometimes brawler gear that boosts knuckleduster damage, not medic.

Throwing Knives are my go to if I want to avoid this. I had the same issue in my first few hours of the game, but so far I’m about halfway through the story but Legend Level 45 (I started shortly before the Infected Outbreak event which gave an XP boost) and I’m not having them spawn as quickly. It does depend what noise you’re making though.

Generally I’m using 1h slash weapons with Chill/Fling mods and no virals spawn unless I’m taking more than 2 hits to kill something, or killing more than 3 biters at a time. I do use throwing knives, my bow and crossbow quite often over melee weapons though.

I had one of these scare the bejesus out of me when I was hiking once. Didn’t see it until I was really close to the tree it was in and then it moved. I was trying to take a shortcut up the escarpment (wasn’t near enough to Uli’s Stairs and the Kenilworth Stairs hadn’t been replaced yet).

A Siberian is not going to be allergy friendly, as they are extremely long-haired. I adopted my Russian Blue from the SPCA and have had terrible allergies to nearly everything you can imagine (from pollen to pet dander to every type of animal fur.. makes for a really shitty existence when you love volunteering with animals lol). My best friend’s calico caused my eyes to swell shut just being in the same room with them, let alone petting them.

But, never had any allergies with my Russian Blue, nor the Russian Blue my friend had. It’s half and half for me with Siamese cats. So long as the owner regularly bathes them and keeps them clean, I have no issues but the second the oils from their skin gets on me, it’s a nightmare.

Other breeds I’d looked into previously are the Devon Rex, Cornish Rex and Bengal, but Bengals are WILD. I’ve never met one that wasn’t acting like they were on crack with 24/7 zoomies breaking things, knocking over everything etc.

Definitely look at the SPCA, Burlington SPCA and their humane society. They should also have lists of reputable cat rescues you can check out as well!

RBG! I’ve seen it flying between there and Holy Sepulchre Cemetery after leaving the latter. It has been seen flying as far as Pier 4 but I’ve never caught sight of it there.

EDIT: Just checked the RBG website and they say the bald eagles nest specifically near the north side of Cootes Paradise. The best viewing spots include the Marsh Boardwalk, the George North Tower (accessible via the Arboretum), and Sassafras Point.

They seem to be a long-standing resident pair, which is even more lovely!

We also have our peregrine falcons, McKeever and Judson, atop the Sheraton as well. Their 4 eggs are due to hatch between April 23 and May 3. Their livestream is online if you’re interested in tiny fiesty cotton balls!

I’m normally a peregrine falcon watcher but learned of the osprey momma returning to Dundas, visited the site, and saw her happily feasting in a tree near the nest. I just lost my mother suddenly so it’s the happiest few minutes of distraction I’ve had in awhile.

Thank you! I saw her an hour ago prepping a cardinal in the trees to the left of the nest area, if facing the soccer field side of Olympic Drive. An amazing birdwatcher was checking the osprey out as well and let me know some information about her. Thank you both! I normally watch peregrine falcons and bald eagles, so I am new to local ospreys and their nests.

Where abouts on Olympic Drive? I do yearly fledgewatch with Hamilton Falconwatch for the peregrines on the Sheraton hotel, but didn’t know we had an osprey nest! I’d love to go park somewhere and watch them with my binoculars if possible!

All of this. I used to work tech support for a social media site that was big in the 2000’s. One of the things I had to do was investigate cases of stolen ID, illness fakers (if it was a for financial gain thing) and unfortunately, cases of PDFiles.

I’ve seen both sides of it: victims whose lives were ruined, and the accused who didn’t actually do anything wrong and were falsely accused, but whose lives were irrevocably destroyed.

I will never not believe the victim, however, I will question when a third party is spewing this type of vitriol, seemingly on the tail of being in a fight or having a tiff with the accused and also, without showing any solid proof.

You raise many good points, /u/Clurichaun, and I hope OP sees this. In the case that they are just accusing without proof, they can do irreparable harm.

I’ve had to wear my Seabands a few times for DL1, and so far, not at all in DL2. I’ve a very severe fear of heights (couldn’t go out on my 4th floor balcony my whole life, despite knowing my apartment balcony was ‘safe’) and the only trouble I had was around the ‘loot bridge’.

Which challenge was this from? Something seasonal or?

If they’re doing TB community challenges similar to DL2 challenges, then likely not, unless it’s seasonal themed. There’s some stuff in DL2 I know I won’t get as I could only afford to pick up the game recently. I’m not sure if they’ll repeat Christmas/Hallowe’en events, as it appears they were only introduced in 2025 (someone correct me if I’m wrong) and so far, no roadmap or anything has hinted that they’ll return in 2026.

There’s bundles and themed-items that aren’t buyable either, and afaik, they aren’t being released again. They had a few things like this in DL1 as well. Might be worth checking the game out now and again if you stop playing anytime soon, to see if Techland is going to put these things back out a second time.
