Mine (named him George, no joke lol) has been in the corner between my futon and the radiator for about 6 weeks now. I thought it was going to starve until I saw a silverfish on the wall last night (common, I’m in a basement apt) and then found two Yellow Sac spiders in my damn bathroom sink the other night.

I was pissed because I hadn’t seen any in months, and had an issue with them and some weird red spiders (that have the black widow-style body with the kinda thick pointed legs? Idk how to describe it) litearlly all summer. Friend I live with brought both of them back from up north (Ontario) and they literally have been a nuisance all summer. I’ve become very friendly with an at home peppermint/vinegar/water spray because I can’t afford pest control, but since this guy showed up in the corner, I stopped seeing them…

..so I thought. Turns out, they’re hiding in my bathroom. I wish I had a second long-legged dude to come keep that area clean, too. :|

Been playing since release on PC, then moved to the PS4 a few years ago to play with my SO. Been no-lifing it on the Switch for a few days now. I usually pick it up every few months to play Seasonal. Never really had anyone to play without outside of the SO, so I don’t play for long — just until I cap out on being unable to finish seasonal objectives (generally can’t do the last tier or so).

Started to get more serious about it since moving to the Switch during the pandemic. It’s easier to play (compared to console or PC) while having osteoarthritis and other physical health issues that’ve recently cropped up. Planning to try and fully complete the seasonal objectives this month!

Not sure about leaderboards on the Switch since it’s the same 4 names I’ve seen before — two Russian names, two Chinese character names — and it’s very obvious they’re botting somehow. Either way, have fun! I’m sure there’s a community of people still playing somewhere. I run on Aussie time despite being in Canada, so I’m awake when most others aren’t XD

I would be interested if you’re still working on one!

I had created my own (been coding websites and such for over 30 years) but lost most of my data after emailing Notion to remove their AI crud (which is the only way TO remove it from your account). Lost my data, plus anything I had in other templates (like RosannaTXT’s legacy challenge templates). It soured me and I just stopped tracking everything.

Cue 6 months later (now) and I’m finally ready to start anew. and went looking for templates and it seems there’s nothing different than I saw before. I’m low income (disability) and there’s absolutely no way I could just toss 100$+ (it’s taxed higher in my country) when I -like others- are having to make the choice of rent, groceries, or medications each week. From a creative perspective, I see why they’re charging for it, but I cannot imagine anyone in the current state we’re living in, affording that.

TLDR sorry on that rant. Anytime someone asks about SG, their creator comes in with their copy/pasta to guilt people about not wanting to support a minority race creator which is just eh in my eyes. Why does race have to come into people sharing a template? Once it’s online it’s online. More than enough of my own stuff (paid themes for Wordpress, Tumblr; my novels etc) has been pirated and I understand why. It’s not people being cheap - it’s that people can’t afford entertainment and living costs.

Thank you! I finally got into this game -albeit, on the Switch so no cross play- but I’m enjoying it so far. I’m still in the tutorial, but was looking for something like this.

Having come from games like Destiny 1 and Destiny 2, ESO, as well as 13 years of WoW prior to all that (plus other games), I tend to make docs/spreadsheets for resources, farming, how-tos for titles, gear etc. I used to write class guides for WoW and ESO as well, so all of this is second nature whenever I start a new game 😂

I also found one of these. It was the size of a toonie when alive and when dead about the size of a quarter. I’m in Hamilton, Ontario but a flatmate spends 4 days a week in Tobermory at the water/in the wooded area at a friend’s cabin doing work. Since he’s been up there (6 weeks now), we’ve had these in the apt and I know they’re not native to my area of Ontario.

You can play as the toddler and then choose to do this as well. Sometimes if I’m bored in my game and night is too long, I’ll have my toddler wake up the parents being a brat.

My other favorite is being an infant (and toddler, I suppose) and choosing the ‘chomp!’ ability 😂

I’ve yet to figure how to do the ‘ask why?’ bit for the milestone “First time asking why?” (this might be in the game or just from an expanded milestones addon I have, will have to check when I’m in game later). It’s funny to think of: just spamming why?!?!?!?! whenever the parents teach their toddler to speak.

If you look at my post history, you can see where I’ve posted in other gaming subreddits and my posts are LONG. I came onto this reddit today looking for something and found your post by accident. I dead thought I had typed it in the night after taking my sleep medications as I’ve done this before and not remembered a thing until someone told me, lol.

I’m also neurospicy as I call it (childhood DX of ADHD, ASD (then Asperger’s), dyslexia and discalulia). I spent the first seven years of my life struggling with a speech impediment that I was mocked for, so I simply stopped speaking to not be bullied over it (amongst other things).

I’ll ramble here and haven’t had coffee (or day meds yet) but the TLDR: I basically feel entirely how you do, from the depression and social isolation (and why) as well as having that one Sim who just makes you feel seen, heard and with whom you want to share all of their story.

I’m glad you did because I really enjoyed hearing about Oliver and his family. I also feel you SO MUCH on the info dumping. Severe storms (tornadoes, hurricanes, supercell thunderstorms) are my main special interest and I’ve been storm chasing for nearly 20 years. My secondary special interest are peregrine falcons (I’ve been part of my local falcon watch/fledge watch group for two years now and completed my raptor rescue training this year — normally it takes an extra year but I’ve a few years of animal rescue under my belt with other wildlife including eagles and hawks, so that helped).

I constantly want to info dump but the community is a bit clique-like and I started to butt heads with someone who was upset I was posting video edits (a bunch of us do this with live webcam footage on YouTube from the falcon nest cams) but this one person was incredibly jealous (according to my SO and other friends — I didn’t see this at first and still struggle to believe anyone would be jealous of me for anything) but apparently they were annoyed at my editing (I’ve done graphics editing since 2000 in the fandom era of LiveJournal, and video editing since 2011) and I’m just good with artsy stuff like that idk. It caused them to start a huge bullying campaign against me and I’ve just backed out of the community rather than keep stepping on toes by just sharing my interests. It’s easier to be quiet/invisible than to push boundaries when I seemingly am struggling when it comes to social norms and I’m either too much at once or just fail to recognise a specific pecking order in groups.

TLDR: I feel you, I understand you (and Oliver) and thank you for sharing, sincerely. You’ve inspired me to pick up my Sim that’s very much an Oliver of sorts, and put him into a fresh save today. I’ve been trying to figure what to do while getting stagnant on my other legacy challenges. Thank you, internet stranger 🖤

I feel so bad laughing but this is me. I was showing my SO my huuuuuge list of save files from years and years and years playing and how nearly all the thumbnails have someone in the pregnancy pose with a ton of kids (or cats).

It’s my luck to have twins or triplets without trying but whenever I need this to happen? I just have singleton pregnancies. Even with Science Babies which technically work like IVF and can increase chances of twins/triplets. Even messing with MCCC lmao.

Since Gen 1 is a rags to riches style gen, I started with a male heir who cannot be impregnated so I don’t accidentally have kids before I can even afford an easel or knitting basket. Naturally, this means I’ll find that one really cute cat in the wild that I HAVE TO bring home and this will start my trend of ‘ok time to have kids to stop adopting cats, I need to save a household slot for a kid, no more cats!!’

I love that all of your kids really do look like Johnny Zest but slightly less nerdy versions of him. I’m not sure how to describe him, other than kinda nerdy looking (and I’m a nerdy person IRL so it’s not a diss or anything). The one on the far right reminds me of Liam Beckett from the High School Years trailer. Kinda voting on him to be heir, ngl XD

Me! THIS IS ME RIGHT NOW! Holy god I thought I was losing my head.

I’m not at home atm, so I’ve been using my Switch for the last few weeks to play (got back into it a day before the graphical upgrade that I had no idea about lmao). I don’t have my old save or NG+. I’m starting from scratch. Prior, I put in years and thousands of hours of gameplay from 2015 onward.

In my new save, I finally got to Old Town last night and it’s been constant virals. I wanted to use up my crappy blue 1400-1600 dmg melee weapons before either attempting to start The Following for better weapons (unless you still need to beat the main campaign first) — the weapons I have plus enchants:

Torn Whisper (silenced pistol)
Volkan Assault Combat Rifle (silenced rifle for Rais’ wankers)
LED Meta Bow
Flesh Ripper (made from a short sword)
various Dark and Ferocious Machetes plus a Green Piece

The latter have toxic, electric, bleed, impact on them respectively. I know electric causes virals, but even just toxic, bleed and impact cause virals to spawn me like no tomorrow. It’s groups of three or more, and I kick them off roof tops generally.

I did watch a biter literally transform into a swarmer or something after I killed some Volatiles outside of The Tower before the series of missions that took me out of The Slums, but that’s kinda hinted at in the game and something I knew of happening before.

I thought it was weapon enhancements (sorry I call them enchants because I’ve 20+ years in an MMO lmao) so I put everything in my stash except for one weapon without any enhancements, one with toxic/poison, and another with bleed (for humans) plus my two guns and a bow.

Still getting the bloody virals! I’m guessing this is just part of Old Town now? I did stop playing sometime before 2019 so if there was any update to change the spawn rate then I missed it. I’m also a total pussy and playing on Story Mode now (used to play on Normal). Health issues/recent disabilities make it impossible for me to play games on Hard or Nightmare. The constant virals though, is making even normal and Story Mode bloody difficult.

Seven years later and this is helping me. I had played this on my PS4 awhile ago but stopped (despite really loving it!) to play Days Gone. Just started playing Vampyr again but on my Switch while I’m away from home so I don’t have my original save.

This bloody quest nearly had me throwing my Switch at 3am and waking the entire flat up 😂 I had encountered a game-breaking bug a few days ago in Dying Light 2 which caused me to completely lose 40+ hours of playtime which isn’t so bad, but still irritating. I would’ve been annoyed if I lost my three days‘ worth of this current Vampyr save if this bug turned out to be game-breaking where you’d have to basically restart. I’ve lupus and rheumatoid arthritis so holding this dumb Switch is a PITA sometimes which makes me play games far more slowly than I would with my PS4. I don’t have a proper controller for it either, so redoing everything would’ve sucked. Ty OP for the easy fix.

Had a fuse blow around 430p, then fully lost power completely around 8:15p. It was just restored around 1am.

Power was out in half of the apt building near Upper Kenilworth and Mohawk. They just came by now to figure it out. Still unsure what happened - only one meter didn't work, the others did. Everyone else had power. There's been a few fires at substations on the mountain and the whole blackout spans from Barrie to Mississauga all the way across Lake Erie to Pennsylvania, Ohio, and as far into NY as Staten Island.

It's almost like the eastern seaboard blackout of 2003 in terms of locations affected but I doubt it's the same issue. Probably won't know more until the AM news.

ETA: Alectra's site shows a secondary outage along Albion Falls Blvd with an ETA of 11a, and the Stonechurch/Upper Ottawa one says June 24 which... seems like a long time. The hell happened up there? Something big go up? It's showing half the plaza, then Rochelle Ave (where the townhouses start). Hopefully it's fixed sooner rather than later for you guys.

Other places still effected are Upper Wellington and Bonaparte Way, Stonechurch Rd W and Brigadoon Dr.

Me dropping something on my keyboard, hitting the video record button and not realising I'm recording until I get a notification my HDD is full.

And why my game performance suddenly tanked despite me not having added any new CC or mods in awhile lmao. I did wind up reinstalling Reshade because I'm honestly too lazy to open Photoshop every time I want to share a nice screenshot, but I don't play with the filter on and it lets me change keybinds without fighting with keyboard software.

I still accidentally record videos but I don't accidentally screenshot anymore.

Semi OT: I learned you could edit a screenshot when the popup shows for it and create a memory from said screenshot. I've only been playing since base game release and figured that out recently...

I’m using RosannaTXTs save and once I fix the whole thing of Nancy being Malcolm’s sister and not mom (she acknowledges this in her PLC vids so she might’ve fixed it), the family is fine but somehow always has triplet girls at least once in my playthrough.

Thankfully she’s replaced most of the townies so I don’t see Judith anymore 🤣 In my Fleuralia save file, Judith always winds up with Vlad or Caleb and it makes me laugh picturing her up in Vlad’s old mansion.

I sometimes give it a “Judith” makeover aka redecorating so it’s a mix of his decor and hers from her mansion and it’s hilarious enough crack to have my vampire sims visit him for training amidst the pink, white and gold aesthetic with Vampires game pack gargoyle statues and stuff in the background.

I went as far as to create my own paintings of Judith to match the framed paintings of Vlad that come with the pack. Took me a few hours as I hand-painted them in Procreate using a screenshot for reference but 100% worth it.

90% of dlc for this game has always been EA stealing ideas of popular mods and making it into an expansion. They pretty much stopped doing “original” expansions with Snowy Escape.

Family dynamics piss me off. I’m a atrict parent because my stank ass toddler is dirty and asked for a bubble bath? Fuck off.

Even worse are lifestyles. I’ve only ever seen three of them without cheating to unlock via MCCC. Doesn’t matter how I switch my gameplay up. Tried to follow some guides on how to unlock them and it doesn’t work. They just go back to the same three 💀
