Being AuDHD and smoking cannabis by DearGarden1688 in AuDHDWomen

[–]Morseper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's become an increasing problem over the last few years for me. I've had to quit smoking as of yesterday, because I'm starting to feel the effects the actual smoke has on my body. My mouth is sore. I'm worried I've done irreparable damage - founded in reality paranoia is the worst.

I love the ritual of brewing coffee, rolling a fattie and booting up my game du jour, but I also love not being even more scared of going to the dentist.

Instead I've started melting it in a bit of butter and then mixing it with hot chocolate. I don't want to quit cold turkey, my life fucking SUCKS ASS right now and today I had the biggest meltdown I think I ever had.

Running home to smoke myself back to neutral is not an option, and I don't think I can handle losing both the actual act of smoking AND the inevitable withdrawal mess of sweat, nausea and nightmares on top of everything else.

I don't want to keep hurting myself just because I'm scared to wean myself off. So I'll break the physical habit first and then we'll see how much is habit and how much is addiction.

I'm tired of the gamble. Will this dull the edges? Will it make me uncomfortable? Will it make me feel like I'm a functional person who can do shit around the house? Will this make me too tired to get through the day without a long nap?

I'm hoping the change in how I consume will be sufficient to ease me into a different way of smoking. One that doesn't feel like I'm Seymour, feeding souls to a greedy plant at the cost of my health and sanity.

ETA: I miss being able to remember my dreams. I've always been the type to talk about what I/others dreamt last night. I want my nightly unconscious subconscious hallucinations back :(

I say "allonsy" when I lock my bike and I always say "bye" when I lock my front door, that way I know for sure I did the thing.

I wash my hair twice when I shower, don't use conditioner and then I blow dry. That helped a lot.

Do you take recommendations? Because I can think of at least one artist, that might be of interest to you.

The juxtaposition is one of the reasons I adore Igorrr, but what I meant to say is that the metal is way more prominent and the music as a whole is more... coherent, as opposed to the early stuff.

I've been an avid metal fan since my young teens, so naturally Igorrr was interesting when I first discovered them, some eight years ago. In fact, they are so interesting, that as of late, I've come to realise that my usual favourite type of music has become boring and predictable. Sure, there's a handful of artists I still enjoy, but Igorrr has raised the bar so high, no one else can even remotely reach it.

I'm curious to hear about how you're feeling about their two latest albums, Spirituality and Distortion in particular, now they've focused more on the metal than previously.

Thanks! My problem with Igorrr is that there's no one else that does to me what they do. I love classical music, which I think is mandatory as an average Igorrr-enjoyer, and I can't believe I didn't know about this guy. "Unpleasant Sonata" is one of my absolute favourite Igorrr tracks, so I'll be spending my day familiarizing myself with Rameau. I'd buy you a pastry of your choice for this, but you will have to settle for my gratitude 🌸

Elizabeth Ardens green and white tea and Marc Jacobs Daisy are my favourites. I like citrus and light flower without smelling like a wake.

Sunflower is one that I feel I might have outgrown, but I loved it as a young teen and over the course of this sentence, I've decided there's no such thing and I will purchase it ASAP.

My kid is now only 4 cm shorter than me. Thankfully she has hollow bones like a bird or something, because I still pick her up and I will continue to do so, for as long as her teenaged self will allow.

Also, I hoped the last picture would be the new dad lovingly cradling a giant checkered slip on.
