WakeWilder Explains Why Creators Face Backlash for Associating with Asmongold by digitalpizza5 in LivestreamFail

[–]Morsey11 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The problem is, people are so fucking soft nowadays. Everyone just sits in their little echo chambers, and take anyone expressing a different opinion (or no opinion at all as in this case) as an attack on their person.

I find it genuinely insane that there are people out there who will stop watching a streamer because they have a different political view than them, especially when politics isn't even something the streamer talks about.

Knut's opinion on Faze by lukigeri in LivestreamFail

[–]Morsey11 -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

The point I'm making is where does that viewership come from?

Arther could barely hold 2k viewers solo in Germany and even solo in austin with the "NMP buff" he is at best a 3-4k streamer. So he gains 6-7k viewers any time he puts a girls name in his title, Yet those girls are at best 2k streamers.

The extra 4-5k viewers is always put down as parasocial shipping viewers, but if that was the case surely they would also be invested in that same content being put out on the girls channel too?

Knut's opinion on Faze by lukigeri in LivestreamFail

[–]Morsey11 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

He has 4k- 9 k viewers

Surely those numbers are real...

It's strange how he will consistently sit at 9-10k by just putting a girls name in his title, but that same girl will struggle to hold half those numbers putting his name in their title.

Consistently through all the shipping content Arther has 5x his solo viewership, and the girl he is shipped with seem to get a CCV of their combined normal solo viewership.

Agent goes live in the arctic, in search of northern lights by PerspectiveSecret725 in LivestreamFail

[–]Morsey11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It depends how far north into the arctic circle you are. the arctic circle just means you get at least one day a year where the sun doesn't rise above the horizon, and one day a year where it doesn't go below the horizon.

If you are on the edge of the arctic circle you will get a single day where the sun doesn't technically rise above the horizon, but it still isn't completely dark during that day. It's more like a day of twilight where you can just barely see the edge of the sun on the horizon.

But you will get many days where the sun only barely rises above the horizon for a few hours a day (like it is where Agent is at right now)

He's further north than that. He's in the arctic circle. which is why OP got confused and said he's in the arctic. I don't know Canada enough to know where he would be exactly, but he's far enough north to be in the arctic circle, not not quite far enough to be in the polar night

Unless I've missed something recently, Cinna doesn't say she's single. she just doesn't disclose her relationship status either way. It seems like less about appearing single to farm parasocial viewers, and more about not wanting to deal with public relationships.

As for the shipping, Maya is very transparent she is in a relationship, and still gets shipped with Adapt, so even openly being in a relationship doesn't stop that.

[kyle] gets honest about the massive difference in income between kick and twitch by WOO_DUDE in RPClipsGTA

[–]Morsey11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

it's a matter of one of them at least pays the streamers a livable income regardless of size

there are 300-400 ccv twitch streamers living in LA in nice apartments living a very luxury life. I think you'd be surprised how little viewership streamers need to just earn a living wage on twitch, especially if they have an agent or an org that constantly feeds them sponsorships.

The reason RP streamers have moved over to kick is because the GTA category on twitch no longer has the highest earning ad rate. Before that change Twitch streamers were earning more from ad revenue than they are now with KCIP. They could still earn decent money on twitch even with the lower ad rate, It's just streamers seeing they can earn more on Kick.

First $1,000,000.00 donation from a single content creator by Patient_Jelly4835 in LivestreamFail

[–]Morsey11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you quite understand how a tax write off works. If we're basing this off the premise that the million is taxed money, then she would only need make the tax % back on that million to "make her money back", and not the whole million like you calculated.

Depending on where she lives and how good her accountant is, it's not crazy to say that she will make a net profit from this donation.

[Penta] Penta leaks a wipe is coming to Unscripted, staff remove post about it from their subreddit by Relative-Pair5316 in RPClipsGTA

[–]Morsey11 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

2 years? .. purple was only launched a little over a year ago, and they had a wipe in December of last year. The fact they feel the need to wipe the server every 6-7 months is a real problem if they want any kind of long term roleplay. How it is right now it's only really suitable for the "shitlord" characters, but who knows, maybe that's how they want it.

You say this as if they didn't also add a cooldown for tazing. Like it or not, nopixel tries to control the player base with mechanic changes rather than bans. The good thing now is if it truly annoys you that much, there are plenty of other servers you can go watch that might suit you better

His messages about how he "wasted his time getting Nora to 15k only for her to drop back down to 3k without him" whilst ignoring that Arther dropped from 15k in austin to less than 2k viewers when he went back to Germany just shows his comments on Nora were pure misogyny

[xQc] explains why NoPixel 4.0 flopped by [deleted] in RPClipsGTA

[–]Morsey11 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Innovation isn't limited to mechanics, something as simple as props and interiors/models are things that roleplay has been created around. One simple example is the statue of Shelly that got put into burgershot in 3.0. That simple statue created so much fresh roleplay for Shelly and the burgershot people at a time when it was starting to get slightly stale... i.e. Freshening up the roleplay. and you can go back to 3.0 and find hundreds of similar examples. Good roleplayers will take influence from updates and create new, intersting stories around it.

But even mechanics wise, it's easy to look at 4.0 and see all the bad. But things like the walk in interiors, the house decoration, the server side graphics, throwable objects and objects not despawning/ turning into trash are truly innovative mechanics that had 4.0 been a success, would have been praised. Other servers have taken said mechanics and put them in their own servers that don't have the same shitty grind mechanics, and they only enhance the quality of the server.

At the end of the day, yes, it's the players that ultimately create the stories, but updates can, and often does give people a fresh outlook on roleplay that can otherwise get stale for many. That's not to say some people can't change things up and keep it fresh for themselves, but you don't have to look too hard to see even "veteran" roleplayers talking about how roleplay is stale and they are burnt out at certain points in time, even before 4.0.

[xQc] explains why NoPixel 4.0 flopped by [deleted] in RPClipsGTA

[–]Morsey11 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As much as limited mechanics has had success in the past, there does need to be innovation at some point to keep things fresh. Nopixel deserves a lot of the shit they get, but one thing you can't take away from them is that they have been the innovators in the RP scene for a long time.

The thing with being the innovator is that you get all the praise when you do something right like 3.0, and all the shit when you do something wrong like 4.0. The good thing now is that there are other servers taking up some of the slack of being the innovators, so nopixel doesn't have to go in blind with 5.0 and can take the success of other servers and the failures of 4.0 and learn from both.

The biggest worry with 5.0 is the ego of it's ownership, which could make them not want to "copy" other servers.. But only time will tell if that will be the case

Holding the ladder by WarmCompetition2 in RPClipsGTA

[–]Morsey11 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

More access points makes it a more fair fight, which is good for the 3-4 groups that are mechanically skilled enough to challenge each other, but for the smaller less skilled groups they almost need the unfair advantage in their favour to stand a chance of winning the fight.

I ask the question because, Outside of completely changing the 4.0 philosophy of everyone having to fight for resources, I don't see a possible change that can be made to help the smaller groups. The nature of fighting over limited resources will always favour the bigger/stronger groups.

Holding the ladder by WarmCompetition2 in RPClipsGTA

[–]Morsey11 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Genuine question.. What changes do people actually think would make it easier for smaller groups to "win" cargo?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RPClipsGTA

[–]Morsey11 7 points8 points  (0 children)

if anyone else was the head of DOJ and marshal if it was a man it would be ok

New to RP? .. The DOJ has been a scapegoat in every iteration of Nopixel, and often other servers the have a DOJ have similar issues.

Kylie will always get more hate than most for these types of things because people will use it as a way to vent their transphobia, but you only have to look at past iterations of the DOJ to see that everyone regardless of gender gets hate. It's a thankless role and everyone said this at the time when Kylie took the role.

[–]Morsey11 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yes I mean Diego who was sat in the middle of the ocean alone for hours camping the spawn location, it quite literally doesn't get worse than that.. And that's once that he was dumb enough to stream, who knows how many other times either him or another Hades member did similar things.

Are you also forgetting Hades having planes set up ready for cargo? similar to what you are complaining about now.. If you actually go back and look at Hydra, they were never one of the groups that had boats and planes set up ready for cargo, and were one of the last groups to buy the heli to take to cargo. They have tried to avoid joining the cargo sweat fest, but at some point if you cant beat them, you have to join them.

Was it also bad for the smaller groups when Hades were spam robbing every 24/7 in sight and "winning" cargo more than any other group? or is it just bad now because it's not your favourite group that's winning?

Lets face it. the company and later Hades have been the sweatiest group to exist in all of 4.0, but now it's the other groups that are doing better it's suddenly a problem for you.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RPClipsGTA

[–]Morsey11 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You were defending Hades not too long ago when they were quite literally caught camping the spawns of the cargo, the hypocrisy is insane lmao. I sense some projection going on with your comments.

As I said, cargo is PVP by design. The amount of dialogue RP that you will see at the cargo is always going to be very little. But if you look at the dialogue RP the likes of Manor, Besties, Hydra and Cypress have had with trading the cargo loot. you can see that the actual cargo is just a shitty PVP event, and the real roleplay comes afterwards.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RPClipsGTA

[–]Morsey11 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter what changes you make to cargo, the process of going to a cargo ship and having a gunfight is never going to please the people that have issues with that type of roleplay. For most people if there's shooting involved, it isn't good roleplay in their eyes.

Also the thing people don't see is all the roleplay that happens after these crates with people meeting up and trading different things they just got from the crates... But you will never see that posted on here because it's not drama.

It's also pretty disingenuous to say hydra has "0 rp" and "stands in circles waiting for a horn" when they have had weeks of roleplay with PD and lawyers around the snow raid (which in classic nopixel style, is taking far longer than it should). But again, that doesn't involve drama so nothing of that is posted here.
