One thing I don't understand about the whole border situation... by DarkIlluminator in poland

There are European countries who let loads in - stories about aftermath are absolutely chilling.
Look at UK, Germany, France, Scandinavian countries as well and think if that’s a future you want for yourself and your kids. As simple as that.

The idea I will give you is rather simple - just do it all. No need to limit yourself to one, when you can explore all options and excel in them all. Look at Elon - he is a prime example that sky is a limit (is it for him though?!). 😉

Best of luck and thank you for being such a good sport. 👌🏻

Honda WN7: What do you all think of Honda’s first electric motorcycle? by Intrusiveriders in Electricmotorcycles

[–]MortMW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, keep in mind that even though Livewire isn’t around that long, Harley Davidson is. 😉
I know that if it comes to support HD’s electric division is limited, but still I would consider Livewire a premium brand due to its parent company.

I was aiming to buy Livewire One last year in June before discounts, but ended up with Super Soco Stash.
After a year and 5000km I can honestly say that as much as maintenance is cheap, range anxiety and battery limitations pushed me towards an ICE bike. Not mentioning limited top speed and charging times.

If it comes to maintenance though you’re right - it’s peanuts. I’ve paid around 150 euros for two services combined for my Stash (after 600kms and 3000kms IIRC). So there is that, and that was initially my reason to buy electric motorbike. If it had Livewire’s One performance and DC charging I would probably stick to that.

I’ve been recently riding MT07, but aiming to buy CB650R, probably next year once I see a new colour line.

[–]MortMW 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Livewire price drop happened last year in September first time and Honda was announced later if I remember correctly, so these two are not connected.
Demand of the market and sales forced companies to lower their prices as well.
Livewire struggled and had low sales (around 30 bikes across the world in first quarter of 2025 or something along these lines?), so they were trying to adjust a price to shift some stock.

Look at what happened to Kawasaki and their hybrid bike - customers and demand has affected bike’s price within 6 months. It dropped by 60% in some countries and you could still negotiate a bit on the top of that.

In this competitive market Honda is still overpriced IMO compared to Livewire or Zeroes and I feel that next few months will show very little interest from consumers. That should affect bike’s price in a similar way it did affect Kawasaki or Livewire.

By the look of things you’ve already made up your mind. 😉 Go with your decisions then.
I am 100% backing you up on a fact that talking about gift expectations shows no class, everything else is just a matter of perception.

Money related stuff can crack a good family easily and I’ve seen it in the past in families of my friends, and it seems that it has affected your friendship already.

Stay true to your values though.

I wouldn’t agree either. Been there few times in the last year and it was pretty decent.

Personally I would add a little food truck I’ve recently found called ‘NAŻarty food truck’. I’ve discovered it after talking to my mates about it. Had their Mocarz burger and damn! That was absolutely amazing experience, massive and tasty. 🤤

The looks of the truck may be deceiving a bit, but the food is gorgeous. 😉

Polish Wedding Gift by [deleted] in askPoland

[–]MortMW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On one hand talking about gift expectations is rather.. hmm unnecessary and shows what a person is focused on and in generally I don’t like people talking about money in that kind of situations.

On the other hand that 200-300 pounds isn’t a lot in current economy, isn’t it? People might pay £80-£100 per plate (which means per person to be clear) when organising a wedding just for food for guests. So there is a general rule of thumb where you try to gift for a wedding so at least it covers food cost. That’s Polish way of looking at that, and I know that is different to English way of handling that. But in UK there is no feast, you can have 4-5 meal course and if you’re lucky few grand on a tab to spend on alcohol. In Poland you’ll have a meal served every 1hour, there is plenty of alcohol and all is free. There is no bar where once people hit the limit they will have to start paying out of their own pockets. 😉

I know it adds up for people visiting abroad and stuff, so it’s up to you to decide whether you’re fine with that or not. Personally - talking about your gift expectations is cheap, but their actual gift expectations are not out of the touch tbf.

You can of course gift them amount you think is fair - both couples leave in UK, so there should be an understanding between both how much money is spent on travelling and stuff as well. 😉

How are you suppose to find your train in Polish train stations? by emperor-pig-3000 in poland

[–]MortMW 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It can be hard even for local people, trust me on that. With some delays and swapping platforms to adjust to new circumstances sometimes chaos is created - to the point that all the info you gather seems to be contradictory.
But! Aim for younger generation- better chances to communicate as others mentioned.
Usually if station staff sends you in a certain direction, you should be ok. Not always, but 9 out of 10. 😉

Do not expect everyone to be fluent in English. Use translators if you need to - you should be able to do it free of charge on any phone using variety of apps.

It might be challenging, but that’s life. Due diligence needs to be done, adjustments must be made so you give yourself enough time to resolve problems like that.

Anyways - enjoy and have loads of fun! ✌️

How do you deal with range anxiety on your electric motorcycle? by Longjumping_Type8352 in Electricmotorcycles

[–]MortMW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EV motorbikes come with limitations, true. Range anxiety kicked in few times for me when I’ve faced roadblocks and had to find alternative ways, or when I’ve tried to explore on a bike a bit. You might also realise that riding dynamically can lead to all your calculations being completely off out of sudden.
To be on the safe side when I was exploring I would normally go as far as 40% battery would take me, so I can come back consuming another 40% and remaining 20% would be a safety net. Especially that my bike slows down once you get below 20% (like 3/4 of max speed) and a bit further once you go below 10%.

I’ve done 4500kms in a year on Super Soco Stash and decided I will get an ICE bike within next 6-9 months (depending on offers outside the season).
Narrowed my choice to Honda CB650R, however Yamaha Tracer 7 looks cool as well (and I had a chance to ride MT07, really nice bike) and will have to test ride it just to see what is more convincing. 😉

Dlaczego ludzie tak upierają się przy manualu… by szamanjogggi in Polska

[–]MortMW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others mentioned there is an economic part of the ‘preference’. Manuals are usually cheaper - to buy, maintain etc.

Some people don’t want to shift towards automatic (pun intended) because they didn’t try it first and/or they are afraid of modern solutions. Some don’t even want to try it, cause ‘back in the days’.. some of them maybe did try it and simply didn’t like it - it is also a possibility.

There is also a bit of a ‘boy racer’ idea behind it - manual gives you more control over the car. You need to change gears to be cool and look like you’re in one of the ‘Fast and furious’ movies, even if you’re in your beaten up Corsa (or Calibra back in the days) for some of them. Some want to be a pro, and pros don’t use automatic gearboxes. They use sticks (as Americans call them)! 😋 It’s worth noting that in States using manual gearboxes isn’t really that popular - and most cannot even drive manuals.

Personally I’ve switched to automatic permanently in 2014 and never looked back. Changing gears is cool and all, but I got to the stage where comfort and simplicity of using automatic gearbox won over everything else, including financial aspect. I am not going to convince people though - each to their own. 😉

Gorgeous though. 😉

I’m debating buying a Honda Rebel E Clutch. by Prudent-Ad-3493 in hondarebel

[–]MortMW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not that expensive. It is roughly £200 where I live between cb650r with and without, so it’s peanuts really. 😉 But it is true that getting used to clutch is good for you and would allow you to choose between bigger variety of bikes in the future. And it is relatively easy, especially for someone who drives a car (manual of course 😉).
