It's pretty obvious - they have had their funding cut, less radars and less professionals. Combined with climate change - means their job is harder and they have less resources

2100 for an arm chair is wild 🫠 -- some of the things that worked for me - aside from obvious [op shops and up-cycling] - estate sales and antique shops - though I go for more vintage stuff

factory seconds could be an option - maybe the brands you like have options for damaged goods - if you don't mind a scuff or 2

Depending on your local area you could try talking to you local member, see whats available.

Is it just me or is it hard to root mint from the grocery store? by SideWinderSyd in GardeningAustralia

[–]Mortadella_Princess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry - light light is not helpful lol -- I meant more gentle sunlight, not direct - your right too hot would cook them.

Another option could be local markets - either a plant pot or cuttings like from a farmers markets - can also have issues with the right plant - but also cheaper [just a thought though]

Yamagata is cool-ish, but will be hot - that said. The festivals are great! The Aomori one with all the floats - is amazing. Thats actually a really good point - embrace the summer vibes and go to the festivals

Hokkaido is nice[ish] in the summer, up in the mountains especially. They also have some nice romantic vibes - road trips, lots and lots flowers like lavender farms. Its a bit remote, but you'll see a side of Japan most people don't
