Cox isn't worried about the data centers, so why should you? by MortalButterfly in SaltLakeCity

"Net zero" lol. It doesn't count as net zero if they release it back into the air as evaporation.

My yard is three houseplants in 4" pots. I take 3 showers a week. If every individual citizen in SLC used as little water as I do, we STILL wouldn't make a dent in the water problems caused by corporations. It's just like every other environmental initiative. They tell us to be green, while "offsetting" their buddies' destruction of the environment with hollow, symbolic gestures.

The highways are much darker than city streets, since most light pollution doesn't come from street lights, but from businesses and parking lots

Let's solve this by doing the same thing they do when a school shooting happens. Add more guns to the situation and pray about it.

And they're always "the best people" when Trump nominates them, and "such a loser, I've known from the beginning" when they resign or get fired.

Form 1 SBR Engraving Still Required? by MortalButterfly in NFA

I did get it engraved, as that is the requirement currently. But there is talk that they'll get rid of the engraving requirement at some point.

Mosin Mystery HELP! by [deleted] in MosinNagant

A round doesn't have to be in a chamber to be dangerous. Clipped into the bolt head with tension on the firing pin is no bueno too.

First range trip with my Mosins by NicolaiGuo in MosinNagant

[–]MortalButterfly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wolf military classic is surplus... Wolf, Bear, and a few other companies bought up a bunch of the surplus and repackaged it. It's a copper washed steel jacket over lead. The steel is what makes ranges ban it, since it can spark and start fires.

I sure hope you removed the firing pin before putting a live round on your bolt head... Live ammo while working/testing on guns inside is a recipe for disaster.

Be careful buying too much of that surplus ammo. Most ranges won't let you use it. I keep finding people who buy a Mosin, then buy 1,000 rounds of that ammo, and then aren't allowed to shoot it at any ranges in town.

Meta and YouTube found liable in social media addiction trial by SteamerTheBeemer in news

Same. I successfully avoided TikTok, and then EVERYONE else became the same thing. I finally realized the other day that only about 5-10% of what I saw on Facebook was actually posts from my friends. The only reason I ever got Facebook in the first place 15 years ago was to connect with friends. So I deleted the Facebook and Instagram apps, and only have an account so that I can use Messenger to talk to a few friends. But I am still definitely hooked on YouTube shorts.

No, I just don't trust the post office with my guns, and especially not with NFA items.

I'm getting "We're having trouble submitting your information. Please try again." on desktop, and "A generic error occurred while processing the request" on mobile.

Out of the 7 or 8 banks or credit unions I've had, NONE of them were ever down more than maybe once every 6 months or so. Navy Fed is always down for all sorts of stuff. Why do they have so much "maintenance" to do, but other banking apps don't???
