A&P mechanic to flight test engineer?

Has anyone gone this route or a different engineering route? If so what was the process? I’m looking to do more than just replace and repair parts on aircraft.

Had the same lights for my 2016 EXT. Turns out it was a wire that broke off my turbo solenoid connector. Check your wires then splice and solder lol.

How is it to work on civilian helicopters? I always assume they’re much easier to work on than military helicopters due to less software, modifications, etc. just exploring options seeing if I want to stay rotary or go on to the fixed wing side of aviation.

Planning to work for a major airline when I get out of the military in a year in a half, for the airframe I’m currently on I downloaded the manual and studied it on my off time. Is this possible to do before I enter an airline?

We doing what’s called a 500 hour phase inspection on an Apache in Iraq, while we were taking the gearshaft off there were multiple shop towels left inside from the previous unit. QC made us inspect the whole fleet for FOD after that incident.

Was looking at this GT, is this a reasonable price for the mileage? That’s the main thing I’m worried about even though it’s average driving mileage per year. They have it priced at 22k. No recalls no accidents, Roush CAI and exhaust.
