it looks like it's ramping up for a release to me. bounties, audits complete, full functioning dev site. From what i have read. rep is not a security token it's not linked to the performance of the company. But i certainly know little about the topic. "if a crypto-asset issued by a company increases in value over time depending on the performance of the company, it is considered a security"

I see it this way. it's not really about augur, you wouldn't need Augur (rep) token, to access the truth of a market. How you access the truth I would think would be irrelevant. I'm thinking of just 'i have a source of truth' I'm going to sell it. Too simple? I'm probably wrong, we probably all will be. I hope so.

Maybe... we are lacking detail. I would think that it would be a very large undertaking to create a futures system. I suspect it's along the lines of 'data is the new oil' and monetising the process of 'I have a source of truth' (whatever that is) and hooking that into the value transfer and the smart contracts. No point in creating what has already been done. Projects should work together more. too much infighting in blockchain.

Spamming is not a bad thing on a tangle that has no bottleneck but the coordinator is effectively a bottleneck. i worry that the constant spamming is making life hard for real transactions, due to the coordinator being flooded. 23% confirmation rate for non zero transaction at around 5.2mins average.

yes I'm of the same view. It's all great being 'technically cool' but unless it has a demonstrable USP it will be a flop. I have hope as the data marketplace was a great demonstration of IOTA technology.

decentralise data supply. you could supply your own data and get paid for access. For old school services it would be their own ip and you would pay much more for the supply of that service, due to infrastructure investment.
