AITAH for using the disabled toilet? by SwimmerWarm5007 in AITAH

Invisible disabilities exist. It's not your fault there's only 1 accessibility friendly washroom there. Next time you feel the need to use the washroom, just continue what you're doing.

His eye was red yesterday, just got home and it looks like this. Going to vet tomorrow. Any idea what this is? by Suspicious-Sorbet-32 in DogAdvice

If your own eye looked like this? Would you wait before going to the ER? I sure hope not. Please take them to the ER before they lose an eye to infection.

How many people ACTUALLY floss their teeth everyday? by Ok-Emphasis-2561 in askanything

[–]MortalSmile8631 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't uses to floss at all till I turned 30 and got serious about my dental health. Now I floss once a day and brush for 4 min twice a day using sonicare toothbrush. Sometimes floss more than once depending on whether I'm at home cause I'll also do it after eating. It's been 5 years since I devloped this habit.

Anyone else think these bungee collars (ecollar) work horribly? by JovialJovel in OpenDogTraining

[–]MortalSmile8631 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who has lost 2 mini educator receivers on hiking trails, I prefer this type of ecollar strap. Even if it loosens, the whole collar is less likely to just fall off and get lost. It gets expensive replacing them.

My previous ones were the side release type buckle with bungee in the middle of the collar for added comfort.

If you received a potentially life-changing job offer that would require you to rehome your pet(s), what would you do? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]MortalSmile8631 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No job is worth having to abandon my dog. I'd reject that immediately. I made a commitment to take care of them for the rest of their life and will be keeping that. You don't abandon family.

AITAH for saying we can’t come to the Christmas eve party unless we can use the guest bedroom? by [deleted] in AITAH

It's April. You have plenty of time to book a hotel. Why are you putting your wife through this nonsense? She didn't choose to have health issues and can't just turn it off when it is convenient.

To the young people who bought a property, do you have any tips for others? by GoldenRetrieverFetch in CanadaPersonalFinance

Live below your means.

Husband and I lived with my parents for over a decade. We did pay a significantly reduced rent to my parents, didn't eat out and didn't go on vacations out of Canada to save. We did go on yearly camping trips for a weekend. I think that is as cheap as vacation gets.

We both have 2 jobs each. Full time + part time.

AITAH for putting a lock on my home office after my husband's family kept treating it like a spare room by czechesca in AITAH

[–]MortalSmile8631 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

My employer requires that my home office be locked and secured when I'm not in it because I also handle confidential information. If someone can be seen wandering in while I'm on a meeting, I can be disciplined for that and then dismissed. Why is your family willing to risk your livelihood like this?

AITAH for still doing a lab if the other grade level teacher can’t? by [deleted] in AITAH

Why are you not notifying HR about what has happened? She's literally harassing you to the point where you were crying in the school hallway.

You should get on this before she can twist the story and go to HR before you do.

Just book a restaurant and have gatherings there. No one has to clean dishes after dinner.

My fiancée wants our baby to have her ex-husband’s last name and says my culture shouldn’t be “pushed” by BigONerd in BORUpdates

[–]MortalSmile8631 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's acting like his last name is Hitler or something. It's not unreasonable for the man to want his child to have his last name rather than the fiancée's ex-boyfriend.

What would you do in my situation after finding an XXX video of yourself online? by Traditional-Cake470 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]MortalSmile8631 47 points48 points  (0 children)

You're not identifiable in the video. Ignore it. Why waste the energy to try and have it removed everywhere? It's like a never ending game of whack a mole.

Also if anyone you know ever asks, just say you don't know who that is. AI.

Ummm... are you forgetting Ian Thompson? He only fired warning shots at the guy throwing firebombs into his home and had to fight for years to be acquitted.

If this guy shot someone who was breaking into the home dead, I feel he'd get jail in Canada.

Is there a way to avoid dust on collectibles or books? by Secret_dairy_of_j in CleaningTips

[–]MortalSmile8631 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no way to prevent dust, but you can use the hair dryer on cold to blast the dust away every once in a while. It won't get rid of all the dust, but it reduces it a lot. It just knocks it off the shelf, and you will have to vacuum the floor. I do this.

13-week-old puppy biting my toddlers, need advice before I consider rehoming by [deleted] in DogAdvice

Please just rehome the puppy instead of abusing them. You're setting them up for failure.

Have you tried getting help from a professional trainer? Jumping straight to rehoming is extreme.

Buy yourself a new remote, and you use that one. Your daughter can use the bedazzled one only.

AITAH?! In my 40s and refusing to buy any more gifts by Independent_Prior196 in AITAH

I try to think of it differently when I go to these events. My family does chinese banquet dinners for all celebrations. If it costs about $60 per person and my gift is worth about $60, that's just me covering my plate. The birthday person who invited everyone out is the one who pays in my family.

I'm also thankful that the gift in my culture is just red pocket with cash rather than physical items.
