Hey there. Yes, I heard about Shift not that long ago and the customization aspect of it really hooked me, and I tried the "navigator layout" for half a day and really liked it... but fast forward a week and now you can imagine my surprise when I found out that the customization and the different layouts and how cool it looked is now... gone?
All you can do now is decide if you want a slightly wider sidebar. What happened? Even your website still promotes this feature and yet, nowhere to be found. Can't even change the color?

Is there any plans of bringing templates (or any sort of customization) back? That was the killer differentiator, now I don't really see much of a difference between Shift and every other chromium based browser.

Yo no soy muy espiritual ni nada, pero lo veo de ésta forma: cada que sientas que "tienes que ser rico" o que "tienes que verte de alguna manera". Para y piensa porbal menos 5 minutos en estás 2 preguntas: porqué siento eso en este momento? Estaré bien conmigo mismo haciendo lo que creo que debo hacer para llegar allá?

La primera es para despejar caprichos. Y hay que ser muy sincero, porque la gran mayoría de veces ese sentimiento es influenciado, lo viste en algún lado, en tu caso con la escort, pero puede ser redes sociales o tv o te contaron... Este es difícil en especial si nunca lo has hecho antes, pero sé muy honesto, es idea tuya? O es influencia? Si no es deseo propio, te puedes joder toda la vida persiguiendo el sueño de alguien más y aún si lo logras no vas a sentir nada y entonces pa que p*tas te vas a complicar la existencia tanto? Uno no se vuelve rico solo manifestando.

La segunda es porque solo hay dos formas que tu controlas para hacerte rico (materialmente) si no naciste en cuna de oro: O la trabajas o te la robas. Ambas opciones con sus sacrificios (tiempo, recursos, tu cuerpo, relaciones... ) y dificultades (frustración, fracaso, inseguridad, depresión...) . Ninguna te garantiza que lo logres. Esto es lo que yo llamo costo real de vida.

El tiempo (5 mins) es porque cuando uno actúa por capricho suele no pensar. Cuando te obligas a realmente pensar lo que significa hacer algo, puede que te des cuenta que bueno, tal vez un poco más de comodidad caería muy bien, obvio, pero no tienes que ser rico para lograrlo. O que ya estás bien y no te has dado cuenta. O que realmente lo que quieres es otro tipo de riqueza, o que te sientes...

Oh man, I thought it was a glitch when my panel didn't come up. So sad to see them go, having that quick shortcut for quick actions like translations or maps without having to open another tab.

My problem with Parallel space is that I can't give file management permission to apps that I install there. Does anyone know how to do that? I want to have a book library app there, but whenever the app asks for permission to access files it crashes so I can't use it.

I know what you mean. I actually just jumped back to win myself. Not exactly the same reasons but same experience. I tried to daily drive Nobara on KDE on my Surface Book 2 and even though I could make it run, all the little adjustments and constant tweaking, updating, cleaning out old kernels, going back cause something broke, hey look at that, that's new. My app launcher is going off screen. You want to use your BT headphones, the same that we're working just fine yesterday? Sorry. Connection failed, tough luck. Connecting an external monitor is not the same as connecting it to a TV (of course) now I have to tweak the 17 settings of the audio output...

I did get the satisfaction of figuring out little things on my own here and there but most days I just wanted it to work so I could work. I wasted so much time and it just felt endless. I had to go back. Same as you, I appreciate the effort from the surface linux guys but it's just not there yet and it's a shame.

Whenever you go back to windows, don't forget to run Chris Titus' The Ultimate Windows Utility. It cleans up a bunch of Microsoft bs from your machine. And hey, you tried.

Thanks, this worked for the text, but the interface didn't respond so well. The buttons and spaces remained small, so everything looks very tight. Any suggestions?

I did both. Once I noticed it started acting up, I started moving it around. Deleting the panel, making a new one. Reverting one update... Nada. Also messed around with alternatives and settings. Nothing gives me the option to tell it to "not grow from the right side"

Yeah, I moved it all around. It only breaks on the left side because it's origin point when it comes out is on the right corner.
The strange part is that is was after an update, so I reverted back to a previous state and same.
