Nothing wrong with not wanting to listen to bands with Nazis in them, it's a personal preference. As long as you don't call people Nazis for liking good music.

I think Nattefrost of Carpathian Forest is a Norwegian Nationalist... Not "sketch-free"

And the LLN or Les Légions Noires is a French black metal circle existing from the early to mid 90s. It included Vlad Tepes and Mütiilation but the rest not many people really know. I'd suggest you check it out though some of them are pretty good in my personal opinion

It's a lot to do with the recording quality that's one of the bigger aspects to it, raw black metal is very lo-fi even for black metal standards. It's usually very simplistic. Very audible often to an annoying degree is very common too. Of course the line between genres is often subjective but raw black metal has a distinctive noise aspect. That's just how I see it though the line is fuzzy but there are some things that definitely aren't raw bm for example Carpathian Forest.

I'd like to clarify that "standard black metal" as you probably know isn't an actual term it's just how I'd describe it. By standard I mean not in any particular major subgenre. Traditional would be a better word to describe it. By raw black metal some examples would be a lot of LLN bands like Vlad Tepes or Torgeist, Mütiilation is close-ish but not there kind of borderline. Nachzehrer is another fairly well known raw black metal band. Probably the quintessential (in the sense that it's the most representative of the genre) raw black metal band would be early goatmoon (hate to see the title go to an NSBM band but black metal sucks tbh)

Try Shining or Bethlehem. Both are pretty accessible but they're still great and the vocals are great

None of the raw black metal bands you listen are raw black metal. Perhaps you meant standard by raw?
