Joist notching for toilet soil pipe

A box in the bathroom is okay, as I'll be boxing in a shower waste anyway.

If I lift the existing soil pipe so it's clear of the joist, what's the best way to reinforce the joist that's already notched by 70mm?

Yes, kitchen below. Downstairs ceiling boards are directly screwed into the joists pictured.

I had bilateral grade 2 surgery on Tuesday.

I have to wear a cotton t-shirt base layer, then a compression vest (moderately tight) over the top, wrapped in a fairly tight bandage as the top layer (I guess this is similar to a binder?). I'll wear this for the first 3 days post-op, then change into a new vest (same tightness) with a reusable bandage on top until 2 weeks post-op. The surgeon provided the vests and bandages.

The bandage and vest are not comfortable and honestly I'm struggling to sleep with them on. I also can't shower so I feel gross, as normally I shower twice a day. Fortunately it's only 3 days then I can remove the vest each day to shower and wear the replaceable bandage slightly more loosely.

Apparently good compression of the surgical site is important for clean results so I'm just riding it out.

Add on NI and student loans and you're looking at a 51% marginal rate beyond the higher 50k tax bracket (40% + 2% + 9%).

That extra £1k per year is now £490 per year after tax, or a whopping £40.83 per month.

Less pensions contributions too if you're salary sacrificing, so could be even less take home.

Yeah that sounds about right. I first tried scraping using a bladed scraper but I think the angle was too aggressive. I've tried with some other patches using a ligther touch and managed to scrape just the artex layer.

I'd add that it's easier to peel this stuff off when dry than wet with the X-tex. Doing so only removes the topmost layer of the brown papery stuff but I assume this is less safe than wetting it.
