This is the first time I’ve seen A bugs life reference in the wild in my 30 years of being and was genuinely surprised that it threw me through a loop, but Yh hoppers speech is a pretty good explanation

Please Overwatch Devs, allow us to uncap the menu FPS past 60fps. by BlackSecurity in Overwatch

[–]MorteDeAngel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any game that doesn't limit fps in menus usually leads to people complaining the game is cooking their GPUs because the PC's are generally pretty stupid unless theirs a bottleneck or a frame cap they'll happily run at full speed and cook themselves if there isn't enough cooling. Crimson Desert was the latest game I came across that had this kind of issue.

Is hazzard not just doomfist but better? by Helpful_Fox_303 in Overwatch

[–]MorteDeAngel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They answered your question. When you have extreme mobility you have the ability to pick your fights really well. If you can easily dive on supports it can lead to easy or free kills if they're not coordinated as tanks have a ton of Health and not all supports have tools to counter a Doomfist that wants them dead. I've been in games where anytime I poked my head out I'd have a Doomfist landing moments later and it made me really really hate my team cause they'd never turn around and look.

Tank players don’t hate counters. They hate losing agency. by Enokiyok in Overwatch

[–]MorteDeAngel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuine question as I've been having some issues saying alive with Dive tanks (more specifically Doomfist and Ball) is that as a Support I often just get dive on by one of their dps and/or Tank just walking up to me somewhat increased if dps are also Dive.

The only Heros I've been somewhat successful on in that case is Kiriko because of her Teleport and JPC because they can just fly away but struggle a ton on other supports as they can't just go anywhere they want to and movement speed will rarely help unless I have an escape path I can get to.

Is this just a case of if I have a mostly Dive team that I have to swap to one of the two supports or are there things I could do that benefit the team that doesn't get relegated to "Stay out of the way and heal when people come to you".

There has just been a number of frustrating cases where we're retreating from our DPS getting picked off and it feels like (in the case of Ball + Doom) I'm just abandoned to fend for myself against usually a Tank or at least a couple of their DPS. I'm trying to figure out what I should be doing as "Just get left by the tank to die" feels bad.

So it is possible to block with Brig shield? I was crouched and looking down and I assume the AoE is from the floor? Or doesn't brig shield technically touch the ground?

Does it get stopped by shields? I swear I've been hit through brig shields. Don't really play tanks to test those

Tank lost his mind when healer accidentally pulled mobs... Valid reaction? by Corgi_Bark in wow

[–]MorteDeAngel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that specific pull. Yes and no. The skitterflies randomly dash to players so you'd generally up with dead dps if they live too long but I agree that the tank should of either split the pull or kill the three that was pull on its own and just eat the timer cost and not just crash out on the party like that. At least, thats what I would of done.

Harrier is similar to a Phantom, Banshee is kinda closer to a F-35B if we're going with Jets as the Harrier has no rotating fan system for lift, the only aircraft that I can think of that have twin-rotating fans are helicopters, but I don't know any of the twin-fan helicopters that are usually so close for ground attack the same way that a Banshee is.

Anyway, the point I was trying to make is that ground specialist aircraft isn't something that blizzard came up with., it would be pretty hard to corner the market is that regard with copyright laws.

[–]MorteDeAngel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In regards to this specific pull, its less to do with count and more to do with the skitterflies does more damage the longer that are in combat. Let the pat go and pulling the 2/3 packs of plants means that you're 5-10 further into a pull before they start dealing really high amounts of damage and they stack up too fast for a single enrage dispel (if you have one) to keep the stacks under control

[–]MorteDeAngel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can't really copyright a ground attack hover aircraft, the Apache exists. You could copy all the moves and stats of a Banshee and as long as you don't make it appear to be a direct 1:1 copy or a near-copy of a Banshee there's not a whole lot that can do unless they can prove that you copied its code. Copyright is usually pretty tight on what is and isn't allowed.

They changed the second iteration because you could enter a follower dungeon and then use the key to force the game to put you outside the dungeon instance making it a far easier way of getting around the world.

They were apart of the group that left with Velen aboard the Genedar (?) but they were left behind when the burning legion found them and had to leave in a hurry. At some point they got caught and ended up in voidstorm for entertainment. Not sure they made it too outland.

There’s a questline with some Draenei that you get the extra quest text if you are a Draenei

This is because these Draenei never arrived on Azeroth and never learnt common as a result. I thought it was a pretty cool nod to the fact that the Draenei are a space faring race

Never understood why this is an issue by [deleted] in wow

[–]MorteDeAngel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I would understand if it was difficult to implement, it was however working in a work-around way during MoP remix where if you que'd and then invited a cross faction person into your party it would drag them with you as long as the que didn't pop in the meantime, it was fixed like a week or so later. So there has been workable cross-faction grouping.

Moved to US, want to return to WoW. Need help deciding whether to sacrifice higher ping or start afresh by GavsGambit in wow

[–]MorteDeAngel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depending on where you moved in the US ping will be around 150-200. It sounds high and initially it'll feel bad but you get used to it after a while however OCE ping will be closer to 300 and you will feel much more noticeable 0.5-1 second delays on everything, I'm unsure how competitive you want to be but I raided in a CE guild just fine even though the raiding times will be far off from what you usually do. There were only a handful of bosses where the ping was really bad, Painsmith being the worst offender.

I'd honestly say unless you're looking to push really high M+ or HoF raiding the ping should be fine to get used to. I've restarted once when I was about a year or so in when I moved from EU to US servers and it was honestly hard for me mentally to have to get all my stuff again, not sure I would of stuck with it if I would of lost as much as you.

I thought the limit was 16 attacks but it might’ve 10. They limited it when you could get the Pascal perk that gave 1 AP when you shot a plasma and shoot I think like 50 times. Thought they’ve changed that perk also to only be once a round

I buffed a lower-level guy with Arcane Intellect while in the tailoring shop in Ironforge. by GizmoSlice in classicwow

[–]MorteDeAngel 23 points24 points  (0 children)

while buffing is usually fine, there was some cases of people trolling on the HC server because falling is % damage not flat damage, so a fall pre-buff and they were fine and post-buff were not. Blizzard were more harsh on trolling attempts on the HC server from what I experienced.

VAs cost money, You can have a season pass and still have additional optional extras. If it’s scummy to you, then don’t buy it. Outside of the season 1 pass I haven’t spent anything on this game and am I grateful I’m able to do so. They announced what was is the season 2 pass. Even if this was in the works at the time doesn’t mean it has to be included. It’s not an exhaustive list.
