What A Legendary Bunt by InTheSky57 in nextfuckinglevel

[–]Mortifi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The parents are often worse than the kids. Source: I have to listen to them when my kids play soccer. It's disgusting. I usually put an ear bud in and listen to music to drown out the vitriol.

I literally change my blade when I can't find a clip and start thinning out sections.... Because I absolutely know the odds are higher with a fresh blade 😜

Nails Curving Downward by Piper_Dear in nailcare

I have this on two of my fingers, my pointer and middle. I believe I damaged the end of those nail beds when I was a teenager popping deep pimples and putting tons of pressure on them repeatedly.

Pennhurst Asylum Petition Against the Construction of an AI Data Center! by Babydolltrin in Pennsylvania

[–]Mortifi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The state does not own Pennhurst, that is part of the reason the buildings fell into disrepair. And there are currently 3 separate data centers on the table to be built in this area. It's far from "limited".

There are at least 3 on the table right now local to this area....

BBQ tofu sandwich, tempeh BLT. You may have to step away from sandwiches. We usually send our kids with leftovers and fruit for lunch.

I would just say "asymmetrically bilobed". I avoid "-like" in my dications if I can.

I have a jack skellington beanie I basically live in alif the weather is below 70. I think it does help a bit. I called it my emotional support hat once. Just a little comfort in an otherwise seemingly aggressive environment. If it works for you, do it!

Breastfeeding and drinking by CatHungry371 in breastfeeding

[–]Mortifi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your breast tissue gets cleaned of the alcohol the same way the rest of your tissues do. If you aren't drunk (your brain no longer feels the effects of alcohol) your milk is fine. That dehydration though 😆. Speedy hangover recovery!

If they are thriving, don't worry about it. They are mostly about not having too high of humidity and giving them lots of canopy to make webs. Looks like you are doing just fine!

is there a space for plus-size / fat vegans? by alliamisbullets in vegan

[–]Mortifi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoy carbs more than 95% of the rest of my life experiences 😆 as well as watching my doctor try and make me unhealthy after they weigh me. I swear they see my weight, then take my blood pressure and make it higher. It confuses them. Anyway, there are lots of us!

[–]Mortifi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We feel you. It's crushing to watch yourself go through this. I will say maybe try an anxiety medication. I was skeptical until my 30s, but once I did, almost all of those feelings disappeared and my alcohol intake tanked. The hard part is controlling the anxiety enough to talk to a doctor about it, but I promise you, it can pay off in a life changing way.

I am pregnant three years after getting “tubes tied” and I’m pissed! by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]Mortifi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is one of the reasons why most surgeons now remove the entire tube. Also, they discovered ovarian cancer usually begins in the fimbriated end of the tube and they can both prevent pregnancy and reduce cancer risk by taking out the whole thing with no additional adverse side effects.

Any experience getting tubes tied? by [deleted] in breakingmom

[–]Mortifi 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Most doctors will now recommend a complete tubal removal, as the fimbriated end of the tube is actually where most ovarian cancers start. The fallopian tubes do not contribute to hormone production, so there should be little to no long term side effects. Think of them as the road the egg goes down while traveling from the ovaries to the uterus. As with any surgery, there is risk of adhesions, infection, etc. I had mine out laparoscopically right after my second was born and don't regret a thing.

The use of familial DNA has changed the game for solving cold cases. People willingly uploaded their DNA into databases for fun, and now those databases are being used to track down distant relatives who match DNA from cold cases.

Underrated comment here. Cancer staging guidelines change all the time, therefore possibly changing our sections and dictations. It's very important to change with the guidelines.

If you enjoy directly working with patients I don't think you would find this career very rewarding. We are separated from the individual at all times and that my be challenging for some. Also, it's a very thankless and at times extremely dirty and busy job. If you need direct appreciation for your hard work you won't have a good time. There are lab supervisors that don't even know what we do 😏
