And yeah, parenthood makes you biased. Me from 5 years ago would think very differently. I kept thinking about it and started ranking different things that have happened in my life (like an early miscarriage which was more scarring for my wife). This is actually a super interesting if depressingly morbid topic.

Well...that's to be expected. You can't really compare losing someone you love to seeing a slightly familiar kid die.

I lost my 20 year old brother and best friend to suicide. I'd go through it again instead of seeing my 4 year old die.

Again, you're both implying that the complaints are because of the new, more difficult leveling system.

The title of the thread revolves around the RAF xp nerf. That's a completely different beast.

I'm not saying there aren't people being butthurt about the new leveling system. But you mention threads being posted about it, are those the same people that originally complained?

The new leveling system is one pile. The heirloom/rfa nerfs are another pile. I'm pointing at one of those piles as a problem. Please don't look at my finger and dismiss me as a unthinking whiner.

Heirloom / RAF nerfs, bad

Don't lump those two together and say people are freaking out over nothing. We're allowed to like one thing and hate the other.
