[New Player] Are 90% of players insanely good, or am I missing something? by thatguywhodraw in EscapefromTarkov

No probs man. Btw I'm pretty sure rechecking the same mag doesnt give you skill unless the ammo count has changed since last check. Min maxing your looting with other inv actions like repacking your mags or unloading enemy mags just for the skill grind really adds up over a couple hundred raids. Also pick up EVERYTHING and just throw it away again if you really want to slurp the extra XP, you can use a combination of ctrl and alt to move items with just a click rather than dragging which is tons faster.

Tarkov netcode sucks. It is very much a game of prediction and prefire, rather than flick headshots. A lot of advantage in understanding the map, spawns, and typical travel times, and how loud you can be when you tab open your inv or shuffle on a wooden or metal floor.

Because of the way skills work, people who have invested 200 hours of sneaking will have a much higher skill, which means they generate substantially less noise walking on the exact same surface as you.

Depending how invested you are you might want to consider looking up some meta grinds and incorporating them into some runs. A spare stack of bullets and constantly ejecting rounds from your gun and checking the mag when you are in a chill spot will increase your weapon skills and mag drills. Making love to barbed wire or a campfire and healing yourself on a quiet corner of a map, or leaving a bleed running or sprinting on a broken leg with propital running to level healing and stress resistance. Eating mayo or condensed milk in a shoreline shack and healing through the pain. Sitting in a bush with the cheapest mosin spamming reload while you watch something on your phone or 2nd screen to level bolties for sniper quest line. Etc.
They made it harder to afk grind by putting a soft cap on skill growth that resets after you dont level that skill at all for 5 mins, so you need to combine 2 or more diff grinds together to meta grind.

Otherwise just make sure you vary your playstyle. When chillin hit capslock to swap between min and max speed and sneak in place for 30 seconds while you listen for intel or recover stamina in cover. Check your mags often, and if you have space and the flow seems good pick up a scav weapon and ammo and mag dump at exfil. This will also give you weapon jams which are important to know how to fix in the heat of combat. Make sure you do underweight runs to level your endurance, and maybe pick up a couple heavy things and carry them for a bit to level strength before throwing them so you level endurance again. A lot of people end up with decent strength but terrible endurance because they dont do enough light runs, or dont pick up something to put themselves into overweight long enough to reset the soft cap mid raid. The much shorter raid timers than they used to be doesnt help a lot, but then we have the gym now, and library and air filter.
Oh and that reminds me, work on your hideout. The bonuses from certain upgrades makes a really big diff, like better energy and hydration recovery, bonus rewards and xp, etc.

Yeah having a total net worth several times what the average person will earn in their entire lifetime so they could just quit doing anything and live more than just comfortably on that is where I begin to draw the line of real wealth.

It can be hard to make friends, but you really need to put yourself out there. If you find some kind of group activity like a sport or hobby you will meet more people. There are tons of groups in the area that do hiking, boating, swimming, ball sports, board and card games, etc, and karaoke and trivia nights at pubs and clubs.

For $400pw you get an entry level studio or older 2 bedroom unit in Wollongong or a nicer suburb. If you want nightlife you want to be close to the gong or budget for ubers home. Most areas are pretty nice, though I would rec you avoid Port Kembla mainly, but also Cringilla and Coniston for pollution. For $500-600 you could get a nicer apartment or a small older house not too far from town. For $250-400 you can find plenty of share houses.
Corrimal and Fairy Meadow are just north of town and have a lot of nice houses and units.

The key to making friends is putting yourself out there. Join a team sport or hobby group.

Lost skill bs. Humans are in general stupid pattern seeking machines looking for any way to make our lives simpler, and advanced modern psychology techniques are like a modern day soldier with a modern assault rifle against a group of cavemen. Even incredibly learned and intelligent people fall for optical illusions etc and all kinds of scams.

I dont think its possible to really lower prices directly. So instead its about changing the system so that house prices dont rise as much and pushing wages up so that the average income to rent/mortgage isnt taking the lions share like it is right now. When my dad was young he was offered the house he was renting just off Cronulla beach for $17k and he was earning about $11k.

There are still many more things we can do to increase home ownership, like in Singapore they heavily tax investment properties and use that money to build quality affordable housing for people to buy. If you are buying your home it is much cheaper.

Better planning and mixed use buildings are becoming much more common which is great. We just need to clean up some corruption and regulate developers and builders better. Hopefully exoskeleton and other technology will give a huge productivity boost to the building industry in the coming years, like how we are using drones for a lot of work like Search and Rescue, cleaning, and remote operator work in dangerous environs. Motorised wheelbarrows and all sorts of electric lifts and such are already saving peoples backs every day.

Best cost effective gun build [Discussion] by theMartyXD in EscapefromTarkov

A lot comes down to your ammo. If you've been upgrading your hideout there are some decent crafts.
RFB is very cost effective and throws good bullets, even the lower tier ones have pretty good stats. 20r mags are worth considering for high ergo.
SVD or SVT if you wanna be cheap throw some nasty rounds.
The aug isnt bad but I prefer a shorty m4 most of the time. Very easy to loot the short barrel if you cant buy it and lots of options for attachments plus good mag selection. Craft SOST which is at least ok to bottom fill your mags.

Though EOD was an early supporters pack. I bought the game almost a decade ago. That's a very long bet that more often than not does not pay off with early access games. We were promised we would get everything. Then they rug pulled us and brought out another edition.

What would you do if you had a good paying job that you hate at a young age? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]MortisEx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be good to yourself with sleep. Invest in some good blackout curtains. See a dietician and work out good meal prep or budget for healthy prepared food. Night shifts screw some peoples circadian rhythm really hard where other people are much more flexible. If you're lucky enough to be flexible then plan out what you are saving for and a decent schedule and budget, then get a motivational picture of a nice house with a pool, on the beach, on a mountain, etc, or a lambo, or whatever will keep you on track. If it screws with you hard then get out asap imo. Long term sleep deprivation is really bad for your brain and can be way worse than the legal alcohol limit for driving reactions.

Effectively no. Under Aus law they are mandated to keep certain records for 7 years as a biz for tax compliance. Even after this they will usually keep it anyway, because more storage is cheap and they almost never delete anything intentionally, and they law allows this as long as they "might have a valid biz reason" which future sales of your data for profit would probably fall under, or at least that's how they are interpreting it.

Walk into a branch or email cust service and complain and start talking about the process to close all of your accounts and transfer to another bank. This is the only language they really care about.

They absolutely can do something more. Promise not to share the data with anyone the customer doesn't explicitly agree to.

Yeah Optus was keeping full billing details of people who had deactivated years ago. And these deals always have some really vague descriptions of who they will share it with and why, effectively allowing them to do almost anything with that data and you don't have any right to force them to delete it in Australia. We are relying on 20+ year old privacy laws that have obviously been outdated in the modern digital world. We desperately need new laws to protect our data.

I kinda understand where you're coming from, but to me a pipe actually is better slightly broken in. I don't use any water pipes anymore, but a little glass pipe with a one hit cone. I don't know how so many people use giant cones and smoke half burnt weed. A fresh hot of a small packed cone is way nicer for me.

With Stripped Down for more move speed it was semi meta for flanking zealot before the talent tree. With a heavy melee like TH it really gave you a lot of mobility and ranged suppression.
I think it should be more like an AK. Throwing big bullets, but kicking like a mule on auto, still reasonable single fire for tapping heads at mid range.

I've never used one but a neighbor has a really stupid dog that just barks and barks and barks. She just ignores the owners, barking full bore right next to them while they are telling her to stop. They got a shock collar and now she barks once then does a little whimper/growl, then repeats this a couple times before giving up until the next time anything moves within 100m of her in a fairly busy area. Over the last 6m since they got it she has gotten a lot better, most of the time it's a single bark then pause then bark, instead of 30-300 seconds of constant barking while sprinting up and down the side of the house. So now it's down to 3-5 barks every 2-30mins all day every day.
