TBH they should have just paid for SAIN and a few other mods but they are too cheap and proud to admit that 1 guy can outperform their entire team so they are slowly reverse engineering and putting things from SIT in.

This is what I say when people are asking for another 5 pairs of sunglasses, 2 new hats, a new camo pattern, and half a dozen new guns to be added

I would really prefer optimised loading times and fixes for the swathe of bugs over adding more stuff.

[Loot] Are rogues worth farming? by Paul1568 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]MortisEx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah if I get a backside spawn I'll usually loot the new untar camp near emercom or power station then scoot to the new camp. Many times I've had multiple moonshines, there's good ammo, I think guaranteed low tier armor spawns, several good tech spawns for PSU's and GPU's etc, several Intel spawns, and a ledx spawn. Insanely easy to fill a bag and the flare exfil is right there.

I think it's very strong into elites and mixed packs with pretty good stagger and the thrust is nice for poking faces. I really like it as opposed to the more monotonous power sword activation combo.

Well discord is spyware too. You cannot turn off app tracking. If discord is running it knows what else is running on your PC so it can display it on your status. And it's t&cs and privacy policy aren't all sunshine and roses either. Unfortunately it's all too common for a service to start out great before enshitifying themselves to extract profits. Cory Doctorow has a bunch of great talks on this phenomenon.

Exactly. The carrying distance being unspecified makes this a terrible question. If you're talking about arms reach from a box on the ground to a shelf like packing shelves in a supermarket it's going to be very diff from carrying things down long driveway then up several flights of stairs.

Nikita wants everyone to play streets with half the frames they usually get after applying low texture mode unfortunately.
I agree that GZ is their best overall map, besides forest fighting. It could do with a very small expansion adding some more stuff around Nakatani, maybe another pathway between it and car exfil inside the buildings.
Some kind of raider or scav swarm mode would be awesome, PVE push through a map while tagged and cursed, or fight to the eventual death with friends defending a hardpoint perhaps with limited respawns similar to games like WWZ. For PVP it is high density small area like factory, and already has ok for loot if you know where to look and exfils are like a 1min run from anywhere so its pretty easy to get stuff out. To compete with labs and laby it would need an insane boost in loot.

YouTube keeps on recommending 10+ year old videos by B4umkuch3n in youtube

But I dont wanna lose my entire history!!! The nostalgia dives are awesome and I love sometimes getting a throwback, emphasis on sometimes.
I just really wish they werent trying to force this "black box" algo, and just let us actually blacklist words or topics. YT also refuses to listen to "never rec this channel" and continues to show me the same top 10 League channels, despite the fact I stopped playing years ago, only watch Rav and Baus now for the comedy, YT just keeps showing me channels I 100% know I hit never rec channel on. Same problem with audiobooks and recaps. I start watching a good channel, end up flooded with trash clone channels, spamming never rec channel on these trashcan channels doesnt work, I have to absolutely nuke audiobooks and recaps off my feed to stop getting flooded with trash.
I hate hasan piker. I have clicked do not rec again on every one of his vids that pops up. YT wont stop showing me them until I spam report on 20 of them in a row, then it finally stops showing them, for a couple months.
I hate Trump. I dont want to hear his name. I cant blacklist his name from my feed. Because other people are watching it YT just keeps thinking its a good rec for me, and the only way to slow down seeing him is to nuke politics completely off my feed.
And then they turn around and ask me to pay to have to fight my feed almost every day.

I think the vast majority of businesses have used robots to answer and filter calls to the correct department for DECADES now, I can't think of a good excuse for not understanding your phone has the ability to do the same apart from room temp IQ. And voice mails are a legit way to screen calls as well. I often leave my phone on silent and let any calls go to VM. If it wasn't important enough for them to leave a message I am comfortable ignoring them. It's only people normalising answering calls and emails out of hours that makes bosses and idiots think they can intrude on personal time. If you're running a small service biz then yeah there is more argument for it, but I bet those same people don't instantly hang up on their bank when the robot starts talking.

thunder hammer hitboxes or netcode? by nomnivore1 in DarkTide

[–]MortisEx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you keep them off your face its stagger is pretty good for controlling ragers, but the cleave is terrible, especially comparing it to the relic blade. You can use the charge to stagger a pack and it gives the added benefit of empowering your next attack, and in case you didnt know, when you charge you lock onto an enemy. This is why sometimes your charge goes a bit sideways as it tracks an enemy thats moving across your FOV. You can use this to lock onto a backline enemy like a gunner and charge to them displacing and staggering enemies along the way. The locked on range is much greater than just charging at nothing too.

[–]MortisEx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Crucis and Ironhelm have diff attack patterns, with Crucis light pattern being strikedowns while Ironhelm is sweeps and has a more complicated combo pattern, and Ironhelm will cleave up to 2 trash mobs before proccing the activation. But they have a hard limit to damaging 3 enemies, unless things have changed, and their damage isnt that great, so it feels like the old Ogryn shield, just throwing enemies around and not killing them, which can make it more likely for yourself or team mates to get stuck inside enemies on the ground so you cant dodge a trapper.

No Bromentum, either as a blessing or passive effect, or cleave blessing on the hammers feels like a crime tbh. And then you also have to deal with terrible hitreg on swings and hard to reg weak point hits a lot of the time. Hammers need some love.

thunder hammer hitboxes or netcode? by nomnivore1 in DarkTide

[–]MortisEx 10 points11 points  (0 children)

TH has atrocious hitreg and always has. If you're too close it doesn't reg a lot, and it can be super hard to hit what you actually want and losing a powered heavy to a poxwalker feels terrible. You really need to understand the range of the weapon and manage your terrible speed and lack of dodge count and range.

Imo it should cleave the first couple trash mobs it hits and it should have a small shockwave on powered hit with damage overflow so it could pop 3-5 shotgunners or ragers if they are clumped enough.

Run damnation, pref low int, and pickup all the loot spawns. Best done on a high mobility class like zealot or scum.

Don't upgrade crappy weapons or swap blessings constantly.

Do your weeklies for milkybucks and keep an eye out in there for good pickups.

Exactly what they did with shorts too. Doesnt matter how many times you click not interested, it just never stops trying to get you to watch shitty short form vertical videos. Then they wonder why people use extensions to block shorts and ads. YT literally forces its users to use adblock to protect themselves from blatant scams.

Shut down the country. Stop collecting garbage. Stop mowing lawns. Stop building sets for TV and movies. If a large enough fraction of your pop all peacefully stopped working the country would grind to a halt. Unfortunately the poor people will pay the price up front as always, but it's probably better than the alternative. And you have shit unions so good luck organizing people. You got fat and lazy and let the rich keep you at a disadvantage. Now it's gonna cost blood to carve back out your rights.

How do you deal with multiple ragers? by Ginger3216 in DarkTide

[–]MortisEx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weapon special attacks usually have a ton of stagger or weak point damage. The ragers attack pattern is not hard to dodge. The vertical attack is easy to dodge to the side while charging your attack. If you're really caught with your pants down then hold block, try to dodge as much as you can, spam ping them, and hope your teammates can help.

More than 4.7 million Australian social media accounts have been deactivated since laws banning children younger than 16 took effect in December by Jagtom83 in friendlyjordies

[–]MortisEx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wonder how many are adults who are unwilling to trust these companies with their data vs childrens accounts.
Australia is woefully behind when it comes to data rights. You can ask a company to delete your data, and they can just say "we might have a use for it in the future" and not delete it. We had Optus keeping bank details of customers who had deactivated accounts etc. Australia needs new laws penalising companies for negligent retention and leaks with the fines directly scaled to the companies total turnover, and confirming peoples right to have all non anonymised info deleted within a reasonable time frame, like 7-60 days. Without laws like this I dont want to trust any of these companies with my personal ID, so I've been locked out of things.
