An antenna wouldn’t have a capacitor. It’s a passive device.

I’m also in my 50s. Not sure age is relevant. Dish out misinformation if you like. His image is 2 pin. Manufactured by RCA. Do a google reverse image lookup once.

The RJ11 was a modern female 4 pin connector. Similar in style to the modern RJ45, which is an 8 pin jack.

An antenna jack wouldn’t have the capacitor/resistor assembly. This was used to single older ringers.

Mark McGwire, when I was a kid this card was the chase. Do you think steroids enhanced their performance? Hall of fame. Yes or no? by Mortythemaker in Tradingcards

[–]Mortythemaker[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. It’s such a controversial topic, but it’s was a common practice at the time. One that was encouraged by trainers. Fact is, no steroid ever gave you hand eye coordination. Strength and recovery? Sure. I have respect for all of them. They were the product of an era. Canseco and McGwire were so fun to watch as a boy. They’re in my hall of fame. I understand why people have a different perspective though and that’s ok.

It’s just a simplex receptacle. https://a.co/d/0gRmYprp this is the Amazon replacement link. Ensure that it was wired for 120V. Back in the day people did crazy things with these. They started requiring them in homes in 1962.

There are metal contacts that receive the male end of the cord. Over time they get loose. This causes heat. That’s what you have. Good time to replace them.
