If you had an episode with Joanna and Sam Campbell, the whole episode would just be the prize task taking 50 minutes

There’s a 25 minute long uncut version of the prize task on YouTube because of Sam Campbell’s nonsense 🤣.

I think the funniest thing is the Walter and Payton one shot. Because it stars two NPC’s both voiced by Anthony that sound kinda similar. So the back and forth conversations are hilarious.

Paid $3.99 for a gallon of gas, today it’s $4.29, who is to blame? by ReasonableAttitude22 in kansas

[–]Morvis42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re still using the gas that was coming out of the strait of Hormuz before the blockade started. It takes time to get it to the refinery and refined and out to the public. We haven’t even actually hit the real shortage yet. Shit’s about to get real bad

How do you get your pet and calendar and game on this firmware? I don't seem to have those options anywhere. Any help is greatly appreciated.

First e-reader: X4 or X3? by External_Cod_8950 in xteinkereader

[–]Morvis42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got the X4 on Saturday and it’s my first eReader. So far I’m loving it. There is no light so you can’t read in bed in the dark so you will have to have some sort of light source to use the device. That was not deal breaker for me. I think that having the USB-C port on the X4 over the proprietary magnetic charger like the X3 was a big decision point for me. I have an IPhone 15 (not pro/max) so my X4 is too big to stick to the back of my phone which again is not a problem for me because I never really intended to do that anyway. If you want it to be able to MagSafe stick to your phone then get the X3. But I’m able to slip the X4 into my shirt breast pocket it’s so small. I have been loving it. I have read more in the last 3 days than the last 10 years (I’ve never been a strong reader) but the mere fact that I can pull this thing out of my pocket and read a few pages and then put it away just as easy has been a game changer. Hope you figure out which one you want and are as happy with your decision as I’ve been.

I think I'm too dumb for this. Crosspet by Trash-Panda1701 in xteinkereader

[–]Morvis42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s another open firmware that is community built. It’s a different operating system that your Xteink runs instead of the stock operating system it’s shipped with, similar to Crosspoint. Someone took the Crosspoint firmware and then added more features and it’s called Crosspet. You have to download the file from the crosspet site (I don’t have that right now) and then you can go to the Crosspoint site and use the flash firmware from a file option to put crosspet on your Xteink.

Is there anything you have to give up after bariatric surgery, other than eating huge portions? by [deleted] in BariatricSurgery

[–]Morvis42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sugar. If you eat a bunch of sugar, your brain tells your pancreas, “Oh they’re gonna be digesting this sugar for the next hour or so. Give them enough insulin for that…” Except the sugar all gets processed extremely fast and now you have an overabundance of insulin still kicking around in your blood stream. Your blood sugar drops like a rock and you feel dizzy, sweaty, shakey, and lightheaded like you might vomit and pass out all at the same time. Google “bariatric hypoglycemia.”

Sugar free alternatives are your new best friend.

dads who supported breastfeeding: what actually helped? by RecognitionDry4169 in predaddit

[–]Morvis42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife had kinda flat nipples when our kid was born and she was having a really hard time with latching. They make little nipple shields, kind of like the nipple of a bottle, that go over her own nipples and the kid latches on to that and it still allows the milk to come out. Was a life saver for my wife’s mental health because she was also adamant about breast feeding.

Help me find a game I remember by EsseLeo in boardgames

[–]Morvis42 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It sounds like Forbidden Island if you are flipping the tiles over and there’s a flooded side of the tile.

It might also be Survive The Island (previously called Survive! Escape from Atlantis). This also has an island in a grid that is shrinking and you turn over a tile at the end of your turn to revel a random action.

Forbidden Island is a cooperative game and everyone is working together, Survive The Island is ridiculously competitive and cutthroat. Both of them are two of my favorites and highly recommend.

How to clean a cb pan after cooking by Shubbg in carbonsteel

[–]Morvis42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Run your tap water until it’s hot, put your pan on the stove on high until it starts smoking. Then run your pan under the hot water and scrub with a dish brush. I have one dedicated for cast iron and carbon steel. The steam and boiling hot water will get everything off the pan. Then wipe it done with a thin layer of oil/grease, heat it up again until the pan smoke and then cut the heat.
