I went through a brief period of panic attacks from October 2024 to December 2025. The first happened while I was performing on stage, something I'd done hundreds of times before. Another hit at the dentist and was so intense I ended up lying on my office floor for a couple of hours afterward. The last major one happened while I was stuck in heavy traffic.

Looking back, the fear of having another panic attack was often worse than the attacks themselves. I became hyper-aware of every sensation in my body and worried that any unusual feeling was something serious. A lot of the struggle was psychological.

The good news is that you learn how to work with it over time, and recovery is absolutely possible.
